There’s nothing special about the ice cream as u can only choose from soft serve vanilla or chocolate but it’s cheap w various toppings to choose from and u get a large quantity of it! Shakes, sundaes, dipped. They have parking next to it.

Part of our childhood when living in Pittsfield was getting a kingkone every summer with dad. Favorites for our family: vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles, vanilla cherry dipped cone, chocolate and vanilla swirl with chocolate sprinkles. Blue Raspberry Slushpuppy. Yum!

If they ever decide to change their name, may I suggest, «Size Queen?» The most impressive thing about the soft-serve(a whole ‘nother animal than ice cream) they serve here is the sheer, brain-freezing volume of product they extrude into your cone or plastic boat. Think of how much you think you want, then go one size down. Kids will enjoy the cartoon-sized ice cream cones, even if they seldom finish them. There’s a dumpster out back where those whose eyes are bigger than their stomachs can dump the unused portion. Your cone will find a lot of company in there.

Sorry to bring it down. The 5 stars — cone looks awesome when served… soo huge we actually only ordered one(for only 2 bucks!) and split it. Cheap cost — incredible! The flavor though — pretty tastless. sorta creamy but just blah. My guess? Much better with the flavored sprinkles or sauces. If we tried it that way, maybe I would have given 4 – 5 stars!

King Cone is a gem! I worked in Pittsfield over the summer, and in a city that doesn’t offer too much, it’s the simple things like King Cone that get you by. To clarify off the bat, it’s soft serve only, that doesn’t limit your options there however. There are ice cream sandwiches(cookies out of a package) so thick that you cannot fit a whole bit in your mouth. Brownie sundaes(they use those cosmic brownies that you get at the super market, a little bit of a disappointment) with hot fudge, whipped cream, etc. You can get your ice cream dipped in chocolate or butterscotch, and topped with sprinkles, or a few different types of candy. Portions are huge, to the point I stick with a kiddie cone most times, and won’t order anything larger than a regular. Prices are what seals the deal. Cheap cheap cheap. You can easily go with a friend and not spend more than a $ 5 bill, but both be happy.

The name alone is a win. I grew up going to this place and you really can’t beat it. Cheap prices, huge cones(don’t forget to get that baby in a plastic boat… sure it’s .10 cents but you need it) Really, soft serve is soft serve but this is something magic about this place. Nothing like going on a summer night and eating my «rainbow jimmies» in the parking lot. Cheap, simple, fun. King Cone I love you… although I always thought it was King Kone…

In these tough economic times… isnt it nice to know you can still get a huge soft serve ice cream with chocolate sauce and sprinkles for just a couple bucks? I haven’t been to King Cone in at least a year, but as I recall, the prices were really cheap and the ice cream — cold and delicious. I am always astounded at the huge portion they give you for what it costs, like $ 2 I think? and they pile on the sweet stuff until it almost topples over, often times requiring a «boat»(plastic boat shaped dish). They do different flavor dips too. Butterscotch, strawberry, etc… best is plain old chocolate though. Dipped is the way to go cause of that great«crack» when your spoon penetrates the candy shell and the sweet ice cream starts to dribble out. Am I horny? Mix ins are a good thing too. Any candy you want, swirled in with either chocolate or vanilla ice cream, served up in a big cup. This is an outdoor place only. I don’t even think they have tables or benches to sit on. Best to park in the lot and eat in your car with all the doors open(hopefully you have an ’83 Camaro) and blasting Iron Maiden, maybe you’ll even pick up some tail… who knows? You just finished senior year, your acne finally cleared up and you’re just chilling with your bros on a hot, July night.(at least that’s how I feel when ever I go to King Cone). Oh yeah, they might only be open during warm months, but I have no idea. Best to check beforehand.
