I haven’t been back to this quaint place in a while! I’d forgotten how nice it was since being newly built a few years ago, everything is impeccably clean and organized — very easy to find what you’re looking for. I came this week to do some studying and they have a variety of study spaces for any type of person — LOTS of large tables by the windows(plenty of natural light), two private study rooms, public computers, and a few small cubby desks all upstairs. Downstairs they have some tables and couches to read and study at as well, but it tends to be a bit noisier down there. I do wish they had some more small cubby desks, there are just 3 against the wall to the right when you get up the stairs. Considering there is only ever really 1 person consuming each of the large tables, it would be more beneficial to have more individual desks! Just my opinion though. Plus, brueggers is downstairs and the village bakery & Starbucks are just across the street :) convenient! A note to library go-ers: typically everyone in there is reading, studying, or doing work. Please have a little respect and decency and keep your voices down/take phone calls out in the hallway! I had ear plugs in and could still hear numerous loud conversations. Library etiquette, people!

The Pittsford Library is relatively small, and always busy. I come here often for a variety of reasons. The location is good for meeting my clients, they have a great children’s selection, and they also have a great selection of new books as well. I find that there is limited space in the library. And because it is always busy, it can be difficult to find a place to work with another person. We want to talk to each other, but not disturb others. I like to use one of the group study rooms upstairs, but I always have to be conscious of volume anyways because the room is not insulated for sound. It’s also cold in there… a space heater is provided for winter months. The staff here is really friendly, and I do enjoy the location of the library. Sometimes parking can be a bit of a problem, but otherwise this is a great local library!

It was a spacious library with tons of seating. Did I mention full blast air conditioning? Wow, I really enjoyed roaming around and looking at their books. It was a really nice visit.

As Chris B. has said, this is probably one of the nicest libraries in the MCLS network… certainly one of the newest. Perfect place to visit if you need to chill out & do some research or browse the stacks. There is a Bruegger’s integrated in the same building, a nice synchronicity. I’d put the amenties here on the same level as some college libraries. Conveniently located in the heart of Pittsford next to Pontillo’s Pizza. Parking lot can fill up during the day time, especially between 12 – 4PM.

This is probably the nicest library in the Monroe County Library system. Built just about six years ago it still seems brand new. Plus it has a bagel restaurant in the same building.
