Great place to relax, get a bite to eat, and watch the small planes take off and land. Quite a treat as I’d never been to this airport before. They offer quite a bit on their menu and from what the waitress mentioned, it’s been redone recently. I had the chicken veggie sandwich which comes with potato chips. Cooked to perfection and very tasty, Best time to visit is in Spring or Summer when you can sit outside.

The place is nice, cozy aviation atmosphere, with descent food, but i just wish it were open in the later hours(esp in the summer)

Had breakfast here this morning for a pre Christmas celebration and had a GREAT meal. About a dozen of us gathered and were met by Rae and Becky who made sure our experience was good. If you’ve never been here you must give this place a try. We will be coming back. You won’t be disappointed with the food or the prices.

I was inspired to write my first Unilocal review because the service here was so clueless. No one was outright rude, there were just so many disappointing interactions. TLDR; Service sucks, food is mediocre, the view is the only redeeming quality. I went here with 2 other friends on a Sunday around 1:30 pm. The place was pretty full, but not slammed. It was a gorgeous, unseasonably warm, mid-October day, and we asked if we could sit outside. We were told that it was too cold. I responded that it was actually quite beautiful out at the moment, but was told that they didn’t have a server working that section. Fair enough. I understand. For some reason, we were sat at a table that was dirty, so a girl came over and had to lean over us to wipe if off. Not really sure why they didn’t tell us to wait 10 seconds so that could be done first. We were given lunch menus, and we asked if we could still order breakfast items. The answer was no.(It seems like if you’re a café, you serve breakfasty items all day, and if you’re a restaurant, you have a Sunday brunch. But again, whatever). Someone came to take our drink order, and in the midst of some communication about not wanting ice in our water, the waitress left the table before I could tell her I also wanted coffee.(This sort of thing happened several times throughout the meal — there would be a quick question, and then without making sure we had communicating everything we needed, she was gone.) So she comes back with coffee for my companion, and I order a coffee of my own. Then she comes back with it, drops it on the table, and leaves again. I realize she hasn’t brought any cream, only sugar. She comes back, I ask for cream, then, when Friend 2 arrives, she comes back again without cream, and I have to remind her about it. By the time I’m able to put cream in my coffee and take a sip, Friend 1 is almost done his first cup. When we’re ready to put in food order, I order a sandwich that comes with chips. I ask if I can upgrade to fries, meaning, they charge me a couple extra bucks to substitute. Nope, I have to just put a separate side order in. My friend was really looking forward to eggs, so he asks if he can get a fried egg on top of his sandwich. Waitress checks with kitchen and comes back to report that they can’t cook eggs right now. The food was… fine. It wasn’t anything special, but it wasn’t horrible either. I got the chicken and kale sandwich, and my companions had the BLT, and a grilled cheese and sweet potato fries. Perhaps a little expensive for what it was. I asked for a box to take the rest of my meal home. One waitress dropped it off, and I started transferring my food into it. Then another girl comes over and asks something that I can’t make out. I tell her that I didn’t understand. Was she trying to wrap it up for me? No, she was trying to take my plate while I was in the middle of boxing it up. I had to take the plate out of her hand and verbalize that I wanted to keep it. It was super strange and clueless. Throughout the whole experience, it seemed like at least 4 different female servers came over. There was no continuity nor pleasantries. I don’t think they said goodbye or thank you. On an unrelated note, the décor is sort of like if your grandparents set up a golf lounge in a spare room. But there are two walls of windows overlooking the tarmac, where you can watch small planes and helicopters take off. That was the best part of the whole experience, but I imagine the only way I would ever return would be if I were drunk and talked into it by good friends.

Four of us went for breakfast at 10:30am on this grey, windy and chilly day. We only waited 10 minutes for a table. Staff was friendly and efficient. Food was very good. Loved the view even though this was not a day for any airport activity.

Great renovation and food. Friendly and responsive waitstaff. Although Sundays are extremely crowded and the wait for a table can be extensive, there always seems to be room at the counter.

Brought the only family out for lunch. Absolutely beautiful day! Its great how Sky has both indoor and outdoor seating. Both have incredible views. We sat inside. Very enjoyable with good service. We had our three children who had two kids hot dogs and one kids cheeseburger. Usually can’t go wrong here… but the burger was 80% bun with very little meet. Check out my tip with pic… I will order my son the ‘regular’ burger next time and see how we make out. My wife had the curry chicken wrap and I the turkey reuben. We also through in a side of sweet potato fries. All in all — not bad! We’ll definitely go back — regarding my review… if I was basing on food experience only — 3 stars. But the ambience is very cool. Definitely worth an extra star. We actually had some very nice pilots allow us to check out their planes. A nice day overall. Check it out.

I’m amazed by the fact someone has a complaint about no ice cream, really, this is not an ice cream stand but a great local restaurant with some of the best food in the area. The owner is always there working as hard as all the great waitress staff, the restaurant has been open for just over a month and if they ran out of food, I’m sure that it’s due to the success of the staff and the fine food they serve. I know the owner well and she agonize about every detail if it’s not right she will fix it, she is the best around! People giving one star after one visit have not really objectively given this airport restaurant it’s due, as far as I’m concerned you won’t find a nicer place to see aircraft flying, great food, great staff and fun airport to visit!

I have visited the Sky Café several times since it opened in early April. The restaurant is under the direction of the owner and executive chef of the nearby Frenchtown Café who recently opened this new location. While the menu is unique to the Sky Café, the quality of the food, attention to detail, and friendliness of the staff is definitely a carry-over from her other restaurant. The Sky Café is located at Sky Manor Airport, a friendly, country airport in western New Jersey. The restaurant is tastefully decorated in an aviation theme ranging from the antique propeller in the dining room to the nostalgic pictures on the tables. From the dining room, you can watch airplanes taking off and landing. Pilots and their passengers can fly in here for a meal. The food is outstanding, both in presentation and quality. No surprise, as the owner continues to maintain a high standard from her other restaurant. I’ve had numerous breakfast selections ranging from a simple egg sandwich, the eggs Benedict, omelettes, and the crepes. All were excellent. Lunches are equally good and reasonably priced. The Maple Glazed Salmon Salad was an excellent choice for a lighter, healthy lunch but no visit to an new restaurant would be complete without sampling the burger, and this one is outstanding. When I asked about the burger, I was told they use fresh, local beef and cook their burgers on a char-broiler. Yum! The restaurant has been very busy each time I’ve visited, a tribute to the quality of the food and the reputation of the new owner. Over the weekend they opened the outdoor patio which should be a really nice addition. The owner says dinners may be coming in the near future.

Fantastic food, great service, overall an excellent experience. Thousands of times better than the prior restaurant at Sky Manor. They know how to make great food and get it out quickly. The burgers are fantastic. The Mexican wrap is also fantastic with a little charring on the outside which adds great flavor. Sunday mornings is usually a wait, but it goes quick and the turnaround is also quick.

Remarkably good. The usual charbroiled burgers, some with avocado. A little bigger than I prefer but darn if I am pleased. Spouse wanted something healthier. Several good choices. Both of us totally satisfied. Coffee endless and good. A litmus test for us. Afternoon on Sunday the flying activity is great. Almost an airshow. What’s with the lame one star review about web links. Jeeesh.(That review seems to have been deleted)

Since the Sky Café opened on April 6, I have eaten there many times(I spend lots of time at the airport). The food and service have always been great, and the prices are reasonable. You can either drive in or fly in to the Sky Manor Airport(N40). Highly recommended.

Wow! Anyone who visited this place before they reopened as the Sky Café will be surprised. They renovated almost everything! The kitchen is all brand new. There is now counter-style seating, and the dining area has been all updated. It has big windows that overlook the runway at Sky Manor Airport. It’s really fun to sit and enjoy the view of the airplanes as they are taking off and landing. The food is excellent. I’ve had the opportunity to have both breakfast and lunch there(my job has me driving past that way frequently). Not only does the food taste great, but they give you generous portions. On my last visit I tried«The Aviator» skillet breakfast. It looked so good I had to take a picture. It was very hot when it came out of the kitchen and it was difficult to wait for it to cool down before I took my first bite. I was not disappointed at all. It was very tasty. A few days before I was there and tried the Avocado BLT for breakfast(fried eggs, avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato). It was huge! They serve it on a ciabatta roll, which was very fresh and crispy. On another visit for lunch I tried the curry chicken salad. I’m not big on curry, but the guy sitting next to me had ordered it and he was telling me how good it was. It was great! It didn’t have an overpowering curry taste. The flavors were very well balanced. I find the waitresses to be very good. Friendly and always around topping off my coffee.

This new restaurant has just been opened by the owner of the Frenchtown café. The food is amazing and the view of the planes and helicopters taking off is an awesome ambiance for kids and adults alike. My breakfast was incredible.
