Looking for a nice park for a party? Look no further!!! I was on the fence on whether to write a review about this park or keep it as a «locals only» secret! Well I think all mommys out there should know that there is a cute, safe park in your local area to take you kids to play or have a birthday party! The park is small, there is only one way in and out which is why I really liked it here! Your kids can run around and if your sitting by the entrance your eyes will always be on your child! There is an area that can be rented out for parties! It has benches BUT I didn’t see any barbecue grills! The playground area is close by also where again you can keep constant visual on your kids! **There are trees for parties that include piñatas!(Always a plus) The restrooms are CLEAN! Yup, clean! They are also conveniently located right next to the play area! The parking is small but enough somehow it works! There are dogs running around off the leash but the owners are right behind them, picking up after the mess and they don’t stay long! Dogs have to play too! **If you do bring your dog remember other people here may not be dog lovers and give you a hard time about your dog being loose! :\ I know that sucks!!! Four stars!!!

This is nice, small quiet park. Surrounded on 3 sides by homes. Has a nice playground and picnic area. Lots of birds and squirrels. However —it is not a dog park & it is illegal to let your dog off leash as it is at any public park other than a designated Dog Park. The fine for having a dog off-leash is about $ 300. I have taken my dog to this park quite a bit and enjoyed it. The park is long and narrow with lots of trees. The police patrol here regularly looking for off leash dogs. Please do not let your dogs off leash unless you are ready to pay a fine.

Many folks use this long, clean, quiet park to let their dogs run loose(illegally) and chase playful squirrels who live in the tall trees. Parking is usually easy in the small lot, but beware of an occasional party on weekends which fills it up. In Spanish the name means«park with the green stream» or «green brook park,» which was literally true until the late 1980’s. Back then it had two shallow lakes, a meandering creek with algae, and wooden bridges. All that character has been removed and replaced with concrete and grass.

How many people can remember the huge wooden forts that made this park one of the best around? Not too many unless you grew up in the 80’s. this park is a quiet park hidden in the back of Van Buren Elementary school and offers some small kiddie playground equipment but mainly lends itself to wide open rolling grass hills great for walking the dog or flying kites with the kids.

This intimate and serene suburban park is a little gem, especially if you enjoy watching a nice variety of local birds. On any given day, you’re likely to spot red-tailed and red-shouldered hawks, hummingbirds, mockingbirds, buntings, sparrows, ravens and crows. Considering that they put on gorgeous vocal performances each day for we visitors to this park, isn’t listening to your iPod while you’re here more than a bit absurd? City workers definitely do their part to keep Arroyo Verde pristine, as do its regular visitors — mostly local moms and their little ones. Truly, though, it’s a great place to linger over a good picnic meal as you admire the gorgeous, mature trees and the serenades of the resident birds.
