A group of 23 met for lunch at The Red Apple Café. The food and service were fantastic. The owner, Jeff, and his staff could not have been more welcoming, flexible, and downright wonderful. We will be back. Mike

I can’t even express the amount of greatness this restaurant achieves. Our church bus broke down and the owner not only told us we can keep the bus there over night if needed, he said anyone who needs food can come in and have some fries on the house. This place has amazing views, great music, fantastic food, and has a very nice ambience to the whole area. Thank you from Powerhouse Ministries!

Found this gem just passing thru town, initially we were headed to Jack Russell Brewery but they were closed so we made a pit stop here. The back patio is stunning, the view over looks a gorgeous valley, & they have water friendly plants everywhere. Our server Shawn was very attentive & sweet, I told him I was allergic to dairy & accommodated my needs accordingly. They seemed a little short staffed since he was the only waiter on shift, but for a lazy Sunday we didn’t mind. The food to about 20mins to arrive & it was fantastic! I had a Edan Burger & it was the best veggie burger I’ve had in a long time. Over all we had a great & relaxing experience, kinda hard to see why they only have 3 stars…

Fare is basic but cheap, great friendly service and very attentive, what you really should come here for is the outdoor seating with spectacular view!!! Driving up to Tahoe it was great way to catch fresh air and view and mentally shift gears while getting a bite

We had a wonderful breakfast here. We were treated so well and loved the ambiance. The homemade biscuits with apple butter were heavenly. What a great breakfast spot on the way to skiing for the day!

I’ve heard mixed reviews about this place so I was hesitant to try it but I’m glad I did, nice friendly staff and very fresh food(nothing seemed canned or frozen) it was windy so we sat inside but the view is beautiful next time I’ll go outside. Lots of vegetarian options on the menu

9.99 for a Reuben with fries, 7.99 for a ½ sandwich ½ salad. Service was friendly and quick. The pie was AMAZING. we got the crunchy pie(I think 2.99 or 3.99), served warm. Enough for 2 to share.

Excellent service to start off. We ordered both eggs benedict; one traditional and one california. It got us full but the taste was decent. I have had a fair share of eggs benedict because I have tried them a handful of them in California. The location was convenient if you were traveling to Reno from Sacramento but we came specifically to try this out from Sacramento. The price was excellent as any breakfast places. Overall, a good experience and my stomach was satisfied.

It got one star for the decent food but no stars for basically kicking us because they were closing in twenty minutes. Did not even get seated and told that we only had a few minutes to cram food down and then leave. WAYTOTREATYOURLOCALCLIENTELE!!!

Came here before a day of visiting Apple Hill. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. It was good. No complaints about the food. Service was okay. There were probably five different people that came to the table to check up on us. The white table clothe below the glass was filthy. Didn’t notice that until after I ate all my food. Clean your table clothes!

So despite the negative reviews I read on here my friends and I decided to try this place. We had been here before and it was a great place to eat lunch before hitting the farms. I have to say the service was very friendly and the food was really good. I had the jalapeño tuna melt with the homemade potato salad and I will be ordering this again. So tasty!!! The only thing is they could have had a little more help. It took a little longer but that I guess comes with the laid back feel you get from being up here. I highly recommend this place! We will be back next year!

I had a wonderful experience here today! My son and I stopped at what we expected to be a quaint roadside café, and got much much more! Not only was the inside of this café amazingly cute and«homey», there is an open terrace in the back that faces a grand, tree filled valley. Amazing customer service, to top it off! The help was efficient and quick, food was served promptly, and yummy salad and sandwiches! As to be expected, some special apple-related dishes, but many other specialty breakfast, lunch and dinner items. We’ll definitely make another trip up from Sacramento, and will bring others with us :). What a find!

Service was exceptional and the view is to die for! The vegetarian breakfast sandwich was delicious and they make their hamburger buns from scratch. Definitely coming back in the winter to see the snow-covered view

Absolutely delicious! The perfect breakfast on your way up to Tahoe. We stopped here before our climb up Mt. Tallac. Inside there is a very down home country feel which is quaint and its own ambiance. Outside is a beautiful overlook off the patio. We came for breakfast and it was wonderful. Everything was perfectly prepared. Definitely coming back on our next trip up to Tahoe.

On the way for Lake Tahoe, I was so happy I found this good restaurants. U can enjoy real home made food with a great view. I don’t know why they don’t have 5 star. I wanna give them 6, or 7 stars for my experience.

This is my first time eating at this place and it’s amazing. The view is incredibly beautiful, they have great service, and the NEWOWNER of the red apple café is super friendly and very understanding.

This review should have all negative stars and YES this review is for the new LOSER owner. Hired our company to do work for them and never paid us. Took the owner to court and won and we haven’t seen A DIME! I’m guessing they don’t pay their other vendors either. It’s too bad since we live close and pass it everyday BUT will never, I repeat NEVER eat here! And course my family and friends don’t and won’t either! Now how about you round up the 4K you owe us for putting the new hood in for your kitchen that you are using!!! Can you say deadbeat user? #applecafedoesntpaytheirbills Would give negative rating if I could

This place was truly impressive. It was recommended, by a local while traveling to SLT. We ordered both the grilled steak & grilled chicken sandwich. The lunch price was appx $ 10/ea. I highly recommend either sandwich. Both also come with the side of café salads. Great food/great view/great atmosphere/great service. What else can you ask for?
