3 times I ate there, 3 times I was sick. Super salty, if you want diarrhea, this could help you. Otherwise wait till they get some new cooks and management.

The food was the best Thai food I have eaten in the U.S. Awesome ambience and service. The quality of the food was huge. The waitress was so patient and accommodating and the sweetest I have ever come across. She greeted us with a warm smile as we entered and as we left. Superb food, superb place and superb service. Not to be missed at all.

Just moved to the area and wanted Thai food bad so I gave Taste of Thai a try, the restaurant was very nice and the staff were great(even for take out). Was surprised when ordering Curry you had to pay extra for rice(any rice not just switching to brown), and they add green beans(never have I had this in all the countries I’ve visited). Now the Thai basil fried rice though was fantastic, the flavor was perfect. I ordered everything hot and the spice was good. I do think the prices are a tad high but new environment may have some to do with it.

I was apprehensive to try this place, as thus far, my experiences with Asian cuisine in the foothills has not been good. I was pleasantly surprised here. We came on a Sunday for dinner and they were busy but not packed. Service was quick and friendly. We started with an order of fresh spring rolls, which were good but not the best I’ve ever had. I usually feel ripped off ordering those in a restaurant because they cost like a dollar to make in real life, but the hubby wanted them so… Anyway. I ordered Pad See Ew and asked if they had tofu as a protein option since it wasn’t on the menu. They did, so I got it. My food was delicious. I would have liked more veggies, but the flavor was good. My husband ordered Pad Thai. He enjoyed it. I took a bit and it tasted like tomatoes to me, which is not what I would expect or want in Pad Thai, but he did enjoy it so whatever. I enjoyed this place enough to go back again for sure.

The food is generally pretty good here, fresh, so far the quality of food has been consistent… depending upon the day you visit you may receive good, average or even bare minimum service. It will depend on the people working when you go in. Not that they are rude, but some servers are clearly better trained than others. On Easter we went there for lunch and ordered the off the lunch menu. When I said I wanted the salad with the entrée(as included with the lunch menu) the server just stated«no lunch today» and walked away, I asked if I could buy the salad and she said«no». So I gave up! LOL. After reading the fine print on the menu I see they don’t offer the lunch prices on weekends or holidays, so I figured out what she meant, but you can see how that isn’t really an ideal experience when dining out. But that was the exception, because otherwise the service has been decent.

I would give this restaurant a 4-star rating if the food was better. Unlike most, I judge a Thai restaurant by its green curry(vegan-style, with tofu). Theirs was just so-so in flavor, and for me, it wasn’t spicy enough. In fact, I shared mine with my husband, who remarked that it tasted the way some old people’s houses smell. Okay — well, I didn’t quite get that out of it, but it was certainly nothing to write home about, either. He had the drunken noodle — which is what he judges a Thai restaurant by — and he said his was just okay.(I didn’t taste his, because I’m vegan and he had beef in his — so I’ll just have to take his word for it.) Also, my husband had ordered sticky rice with his meal, but they forgot to bring it. Of course, it was still on the bill, so we had to ask them to remove it since they had failed to bring it — which they did with no problem. The atmosphere was really the best thing about this restaurant, and that was very nice. However, that isn’t enough to keep me coming back to a restaurant, and since the food wasn’t that great, and the location is somewhat inconvenient for us(downtown areas are far too congested with automobile and bicycle traffic for our liking so we tend to avoid them like the plague), we probably won’t be returning to this restaurant.

Great food but if you like spicy be sure to ask for it! The inside is much nicer and more clean than expected from the looks of the outside. I also have bad memories of Lyonn’s there so they have really redone a lot. My boyfriend and I love Thai food and the prices are very reasonable!

this is the only Thai place in Placerville I know of, so by default it wins the award for«best Thai». It’s usually pretty empty and you can be immediately seated, why is kind of a mystery– the food is much better than most of what’s available in town. All of the usual Thai dishes are here and are done well. nothing is stand out amazing, but it’s consistent and good.

Went on a Saturday night. One table was filled. Arrived at 8:30 and they said they were closing in 15 minutes. They said only takeout. I was hungry so I said OK cause I didn’t feel like driving elsewhere. Ordered the simplest thing I could think of Chicken fried rice. It was horrible. Apparently they were in a hurry to leave at 8:30. Don’t order takeout not very good and they don’t really care about customers just their convenience.

Delicious mango curry –10.95 special of the day. Thai tea was also good — 2.50. Though I dislike how many thai places charge for rice when they know you need rice for curry…

This is where we eat anytime we are in the Apple Hill area. Pretty without being overly formal, it is easy to get to right off the freeway. Large servings for the price and great food keep us coming back.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times and for Placerville they are doing a great job. Food is good, service was super attentive and the prices are reasonable. You’re not going to find better Thai food anywhere else in the county. I wish they had a better beer selection — maybe something on tap. Then there’s the happy hour… I’ve not been but they have a sign outside and I need to stop in and check it out.
