I have always had positive experiences at Glisson’s. Mr. and Mrs. Glisson have always made me and my friends feel welcome and safe on the range. I think some people who have reviewed this business, sometimes mistake Mr. Glissons attention to details on safety as putting them down or making them feel inferior. This is NOT the case. Mr. Glisson simply does not want any accidents to occur. You are handling a live weapon and all it takes is someone not to be paying attention or doing something silly and someone could get hurt. However, I have brought friends and organizations like Chikara Martial Arts Academy, Chicago Jedi and the like to there and we all have an amazing day of archery. They have a fully supplied Pro-Shop. Mr. Glisson has repaired and updated two of my bows and they work great. I recommend this as a great place to go, and all should experience it for themselves.

I love going to this place. I knew nothing about archery when I first started coming here, and the owner was always helpful. He helped my brother and I get started, and I really appreciate that he lets me know if my form is off or if I’m doing something else wrong. Even though I’m still a beginner I feel comfortable coming here, and it’s clear that this place knows what they are doing. The entire indoor range is covered in plaques and other trophies. I haven’t had the pleasure of using the outdoor range yet because I don’t own a bow yet, but it looks awesome. It’s only $ 5 to rent the bows and arrows, and another $ 5 to use the indoor range for an hour. Id’ highly recommend coming here for something to do with friends or if you’re interested in picking up archery as a hobby.

Quite honestly, I’ve never been so freaked out at a business in my life. Our daughter’s scout troop was there for a field trip. Though the owner/instructor was very thorough and clearly an archery expert, I have never felt so degraded, insulted, and borderline verbally abused. I will not return to this place EVER.

The girl friend and I did a double date event starting at the Archery shop. It cost us $ 10 to rent the equipment and the range for an hour each. We ended having a blast. The employees were courteous, professional, and polite. They were willing to teach us the basics and the fundamentals of archery to increase our satisfaction while were were there. I’d highly recommend it to friends if they want to shoot a Bow for an hour or two at a low price.

Love this place… we are here at least 2x a week… funny thing is… my BF and I decided we want to learn archery… we went here 6 weeks ago, purchased bows and arrows first BEFORE getting some lessons… haha… Sonny, the owner… has been in the business for many years and a professional archer. he has a gazillion trophies on the wall… and he knows archery like no other… The whole place is a lodge house with an indoor archery range and an ouotdoor range. Inside the indoor archery, there’s a shop. Ron is one of their trainers… he is such a cool guy… We feel right at home… everyone who goes there are friendly, and you get to know these people… We are not good yet… but its just awesome to shoot and hit the target… My kids love this place too, and we even bring their friends…

We often drop by this place on Saturdays after some equestrian drills nearby. There is a 20 yd indoor range and lots of outdoor practice, 3D targets etc. If you are a starter, the owner seems to know everything about archery and will help you get started. After a few goes by yourself you could(maybe should) take a few lessons from an instructor, he comes on Saturdays(call in to check). The patrons are courteous and offer sound honest advice. Everyone seems to help you on your way. If you are serious about learning a skill, I highly recommend this place.
