Planet Fitness – Plainfield

The first time I visited this PF I was disgusted. It smelled and was dirty. I realized they were renovating so I gave them more opportunities. Since renovating, they have improved in their cleanliness greatly. The downside, the space is too small and there’s not enough space to workout. It’s also crazy busy during peak hours. I only go to this one when I am stopping in Plainfield for errands. Their tanning beds are top notch, though!

I have been going to this location for over a year now and find myself more and more displeased each trip. I have the blackcard, but will be moving back down to the $ 10 membership today.
One of their mega tanning beds fans has not worked for months and now the other one is completely broke. Face tanners aren’t working in the normal beds, so my only option is a stand up.
I’ve tried to use the red light therapy 5 times now and not one employee is capable of explaining the bed.
One of the hydro massage beds screens has barely worked in the year I’ve been there. I decided to use it last night and every time it went down my lower back area you couldn’t feel it and then it would hit you hard it the upper back.
I like to go late at night, but when I try and clean the equipment off I have to walk half way across the building to find paper towel.
No complaints if you are going there just to work out. Equipment is great.

Technically I’d give it 3.5 stars, but I’m feeling generous today.

Staff was friendly when I first walked in. Got signed up with no hassle. Very good price for such a big gym with lots of equipment. Free fitness training available, will probably take advantage of that. For $ 20 you can bring a buddy, and might as well split the cost of membership. Clean, plenty of machines, nice locker rooms. All in all a great gym, and the price makes it excellent!

Only $ 10 a month — no cancellation fee — great deal! Tons of treadmills, free weights, and machines. The place is clean as a whistle, the staff is always dusting, refilling sprays, and monitoring the place. This is a simple gym in that there isn’t all the training and classes, but a great place to come, workout, and leave. The locker rooms are clean, have showers, and smell great. For the money, I don’t think there is a better deal.
