Zen Salon & Spa

I’ve been going to Zen for almost ten years. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable about what they do! My daughter, sister, and Mom go there too! Lindsey is the best! I would recommend Zen for all your hair, nail, and facial needs!

I have been going to Zen since they opened their doors. Hair and nails done regularly. LOVE this place and all the workers. I can be myself and not have to worry about offending people (ok, maybe I do). Very friendly, very accommodating and they put up with me & my 8 yr old (when I bring her with me).

I am never disappointed with the care and service that I receive at Zen. The salon is clean and a pleasure to visit. Kelly’s expertise with hair care and style is unbeatable! Jackie gives the best pedicures and nail care. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I’ve been coming to Zen with Becca for a few years now. I really like everything Becca has done for me from cuts, color, brow waxes and even Keratin or Brazilian treatments. She always seems to know what will work for me. I trust her and feel comfortable doing what she suggests. I’ve sent friends and now bring my daughter to Becca, who have all been satisfied with her work. I think the prices are fair in comparison to the salon I used to go to in Naperville.

I wasn’t unhappy with my old salon, but I saw a sign at MPG Fitness (next door) advertising a free haircut with any color service with Lindsey. I don’t know how longer this offer is valid, but it was a GREAT deal. I am so happy with my hair!
As soon as I sat in the chair, Lindsey fluffed her fingers through my hair and quickly said, «okay, I’m going to go mix up some color.» I loved that she was so confident and just knew exactly what to mix up. Granted, my highlights are blonde now, and I am naturally dark blonde… it’s not that complicated. And Lindsey herself has great hair. Confidence + great hair = great stylist. Don’t trust a stylist with bad hair.
My highlights turned out the shade of blonde I wanted. In the past, it always came out a bit too platinum and a bit too monochrome for my liking. Lindsey did a great job, and I didn’t even mention my prior concerns.
We talked briefly about my haircut: take off about an inch, trim up the bangs, add some layers. Again, Lindsey nailed it.
In the past, my hair appointments (cut + color) have taken almost three hours. I was shocked to be in and out of Zen in only two hours!
NOTE: You cannot add a tip to your credit or debit card. Tips are cash or check only. There is an ATM in the Nevins Brewing Company, a few doors down. Luckily, I was aware of this before I arrived since I read the Unilocal reviews, but I did overhear a client caught by surprise. When inside the salon, the only indication is a 3×5 sign by the cash register.
I can honestly say that Zen Salon & Spa is going to be my primary salon for cut & color. My «old» salon was great, but Zen’s prices are ever-​so-​slightly less and closer to home.

I’ve been coming here for about 7 years now. They are open on nights and weekends including Sundays. My stylist is fantastic and the prices are ok by salon standards. The receptionist is nice. It does seem like they have a high turn over though.
