Food was ok, but nothing great. Service wasn’t good. Went for breakfast and couldn’t even get a refill on my coffee. They have a lot on their menu, we may try there again, but doubtful — there are lots of other places in the area that are better.

OK — It’s not even«Nick’s» Cozy Corner any more, it’s just Cozy Corner. The breakfast is still very good, but wake up Cozy Corner, there is competition in town now… very good competition. Time to get back to the quality and quantity you had from 2004 – 2009, before you raised your prices and changed the menu. Still A-OK, just no longer 5 Stars from me.

Place is ok. Some of the staff are rude to younger people. They are use to an older crowd. Still, the breakfast is good and they dont rush you out.

As others have said, the stuffed french toast is awesome. I don’t normally order it since it is a little rich for me, but my wife loves it. I normally go with an omelet and it is always delicious, plus this way my wife and I can share each others breakfast so I get some of that stuffed french toast. Service has always been friendly and fast. Great breakfast place in Plainfield.

i had heard how great it was and i can say i wasn’t really impressed. i would rather go to Pomegranate Café in Aurora. the staff was awful. we had no drink refills and no recommendations for newcomers. the place seemed like a really bad dinner, in terms of décor and service. the only good thing about the food was the pound cake french toast however, it would have been nice if it wasn’t served by itself. i probably won’t be back. like i said, i was unimpressed.

Nick’s serves large portions. They do have a lunch menu and these lunch portions seem to be more in line with a normal stomach size. There is something for everyone on the menu from generous salads to wonderful sandwiches and burgers. You can even have breakfast served at lunchtime and they make some great omelettes. What can I say? It’s a regular family restaurant type of place.

We’ve been dining at Nick’s for the past three years, before and after the sabbatical. We eat out quite often, preferring the family-style, casual restaurants to the high-end fare. Nick’s Cozy Corner suits our tastes perfectly. It’s not going to be for everyone, and you can’t expect that a place that’s famous for breakfast is going to seat you without a wait on a Saturday or Sunday morning. We know what to expect, and aren’t surprised that showing up for«the church rush» is going to mean a wait. We’ve never had bad service at Nick’s. Yes, it can be a bit slow at busy times, but that’s to be expected. My coffee cup is always full(though I wish my water glass were), and the wait for food has always what I would consider to be very reasonable. The staff has always been friendly and cordial. The food is yummy, and generous. Just *try* to finish a skillet in one sitting! Their stuffed French toast is incredible, as are the pancakes and waffles. My wife and daughter are in love with the crepes — as they say the portion is just right, without filling them up — and they’re delicious! Nick’s Cozy Corner has the winning formula for a restaurant — consistency. We are never disappointed or unpleasantly surprised. We know what to expect, and always go back knowing it will be great.

I don’t really get what all the hype is about. I went here b/c I wanted something quick, light and not franchised like everything else around me. The restaurant is very clean, sometimes breakfast places are so busy cleanliness is often forgotten. The hostess that sat us was very nice, we were promptly sat at a booth. My only annoyance with the booth was that it was badly ripped and there were huge pieces of duck tape covering the rip. That is kind of irritating to sit on when you are wearing a skirt! Our server was nice, well groomed, prompt. I could tell she didn’t want to be there but who can blame her. I had a turkey sandwich on a croissant. The turkey was fresh and tasty, it came with fries and cole slaw, the slaw was totally homemade and pretty tasty. My dining partner just had fruit and toast, but the fruit was fresh and the toast was thick and buttery. The breakfast and lunch menu was large, I would eat here again for breakfast only. When I went it wasn’t crowded, but it wasn’t empty.

Loved it when they first opened, The owner Nick and his wife always came to the tables and greated you. The food was great then, but now, the food is just ok, the service is really bad, and they don’t seem to care about the customers any more. The owners act stuck up now. And I like these owners, so it is hard for me to say this. They never come up and thank you for coming in anymore either. They need to learn how to appreciate their customers. I still go here because of my wife. Portions are small, prepare to eat before or after dining here.

Very disapointing. A year ago we would have rated Nicks 5 stars. Nicks used to be much better. Getting seated is now painful. The staff seems much less organized than they used to be. We were 5 year loyal customers, but no more. Surprising since most of the wait staff is the same as before. The real problem is getting seated, and being told«it’ll be just a minute» by the hostess when arriving only to still be waiting for a table 20 mins later. Meanwhile, parties arriving after us were being seated. It’s a shame…

Food at this dinner is passable, but not great. The wait for the food, on a barely busy day was atrocious! 45 minutes for pancakes and eggs??? Also, they seemingly can’t afford to run the air making it an uncomfortable wait as well. Find someplace else to eat if you want to eat your breakfast before lunch time!

Nick’s gives me an old school diner vibe. It feels like a family restaurant, and it was a fun place to be, especially in the morning. The food speaks for itself. The omelets, which are the only things I have had, are huge, and for a man that can eat, I must admit that at times I have trouble finishing it all. My only concern is the service. For the most part the service is pretty good, but during each of my visits something always occurs that prevents me from loving this place. However, it is not enough to convince me not to come here. I am too in love with their breakfast foods to leave. It’s a great place to take your kids, friends, or even just yourself.

This is a great little restaurant. We have consistently received great service and great food. We have yet to find something on the menu that did not exceed our expectations. We have had everything from breakfast to sandwiches to baked spaghetti to ribs(yes, this Texas girl did say ribs– you won’t be disappointed). We have been pleasantly surprised by everything we have tried thus far. Whenever we can’t think of what we want for dinner, we head to Nick’s. The menu is very diverse, it’s family friendly, and affordable.

After hearing about this place for a while, I finally tried it and went back to make sure it wasn’t a fluke. I echo the wonderful reviews that have been written and our group has tried everything from the skillets, omelette’s and various french toast’s and they were all outstanding. Portions are huge, especially with the egg dishes and winds up being the only meal of the day for us, after taking home the leftovers. Probably the best omelette’s in the area and they were even able to move people in and out during a busy Easter rush. Definitely recommended for breakfast!

Huge omelettes and great family friendly service. Every time I’ve been here, the omelette has been enough to take for 2 meals. Quick service and clean. Expect to pay between $ 5-$ 9 per dish. It really is «cozy», located in North Plainfield, a 10 – 15 minute drive from central/south Naperville.

Nick’s is a great place for a meal any time of day. Portions are really big, but I think for breakfast you can get ½ orders. My favorites are the open faced turkey sandwich, baked spaghetti, and their cheese omlet for breakfast. They are very busy on the weekends so if you want breakfast you should probably show up at 7 or 8.

Nick’s is fantastic. My husband and I eat here 2x a month. We are creatures of habit and I typically get the Blackened Cajun Talapia — yummy! And my husband gets the Turkey Ruben — yummy also. The service is always great, the food is always fresh. We skip breakfast time because it can get crowded, but you can order breakfast all day, so no missing the delicious stuffed french toast. Its tucked away in the strip mall, but there is nothing commercial about this place. Very cozy, very good, very different than the franchise restaurants that are lined along Route 59.
