Would’ve been semi decent had it not been for the rude waitress. Mikelene was her name. Food was ok, but the service was awful. The hashbrowns were dry and over spiced, and the omelets are nothing to write home about. I had to ask for a new fork 3 times(the one in the napkin had food on it still, gross), and when she finally brought it she reached her arm over right in front of another person at our table to give it to me and said«here», Wtf??? and normally waiters walk around and refill water and coffee automatically, but for some reason we needed to ask everytime we needed more and even then it took forever to get it. The coffee is basically brown water, and tasteless. At one point she came back finally to refill my water and it spilled all over the table and onto my plate with food still on it. She said«Oh, oops» and went on filling everyone else’s cup at our table while I sat there in shock. Never an apology, no replacement of food, nothing. No acknowledgement for her mistake at all, other than her finally coming back after several minutes and literally just dropping a small stack of napkins next to me and didn’t say a word as she did it. It was amazing. We were a party of 10 and she just dropped the check off and didn’t even ask if we needed it split up or not. I made sure to leave $ 0 tip and I’ll never go back here or to any other location, even in a food emergency. I never leave $ 0 tip or even small tips, I always leave 20% always, but it was beyond disappointing. Worst service I’ve ever had in my life, pretty much ruined my day.

Food: The food is always great, I’ve never had a problem with it. Although not my first choice, Mimi’s Café is a place I would recommend for good food. They’re Spinach Salad with Salmon was good and full of flavor. Would recommend if going there. Décor: One of the nicest décor I’ve seen. It tries to capture that New Orleans feeling and having been to New Orleans, I can say it does a pretty good job. I always feel comfortable there. Seats and tables are the same from what they have been and the place is starting to look a little old. Service: When Mimi’s Café first opened up, the service was great, and it continued to be great. Lately, however, service has been terrible. The waitresses have been extremely snippy. Lunch was an adventure today. The waitress didn’t bring us plates to eat bread in. When we asked for plates she looked like we had requested something completely out of the norm. She also inaccurately described the dish that was served for one of the customers at my table. She threw the check booklet down on our table, never asked how the food was or if we still wanted dessert. When the payer handed her the check with his card, she completely ignored him, took our plates and walked away. At least give us a «I’ll be back in one second for that.» This is a long series of awful encounters I’ve had at Mimi’s Café. Overall, I would say don’t go. I know a lot of people who have had the same experiences and avoid Mimi’s Café with all cost. Mimi’s Café is now also on my avoid list.

First time here, not a wait for breakfast like in most breakfast places. The coffee was decent and my egg white frittata was good. The waitress took my food away when we noted a hair on the cantaloupe, got a new plate and was comp’d the meal. Manager came over twice and was very apologetic. Got 4 free muffins, nice customer service and kitschy décor. Will go back

The food is average. The atmosphere is very loud when the restaurant is full. Last few times there, hardly any customers. When first opened you had a long wait to get a seat. The service is good although our soups which kind of looked alike were given to the wrong person. When she served it everyone had soup and sandwich, she just announced to us soup and sandwich, so she did not know what soup it was. Not good! Was not my decision to eat here, but would have to think if I would return.

Just went here for my first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised with the food. I had no idea it was going to be French and I loved that it wasn’t just another average American place with the basics. I had a great Niçoise salad and my husband had the club sandwich. I ducked them a star because I was really craving Bread Pudding after seeing it on their menu, and they were out of it. How are you out of something on a Saturday lunch? Anyways, we’ll probably return and try their breakfast/dinner as well.

I was trying to figure out the vibe they were going for. It is a combo of French(as evidenced by the Eiffel Towers here and there and on the children’s menu) and New Orleans with a lot of jazz decos. Anyway, the food has some New Orleans’ themed names but is pretty much American. When we were seated, we were given breakfast menus. I had to go up front to get some lunch menus, it was about 12:30 in the afternoon. The entrees we selected were all good and I would not hesitate to eat here again. However, it is always nice for everyone to receive their meal at the same time with ALL sides. Just saying. On a final note, the ladies’ comfort station was freezing ~ made for quick in and out.

I’ve gone to Mimi’s for years both here and in another state, so I kind of always knew what to expect when I went. They would occasionally tweak the menu, and had even recently moved to the«smaller plate» offerings, which was nice. But you knew you’d always have that menu with its foundation in New Orleans. Well, apparently the company got bought out, and they’ve moved more in the direction of traditional French. This isn’t bad. In fact, it makes it more of a competitor to Mon Ami Gabi. However… The old complimentary muffins seem to be out. They did not appear to have the«smaller portion» menu anymore. A friend and I ordered the Quiche Lorraine; another friend got the Burger au Fromage.(We were in between the breakfast/lunch hours. I’m not sure why the Quiche isn’t on the lunch menu too; it can be a lunch dish…) The food was all very good, but it took FOREVER to come out. We weren’t in a hurry(girlfriends’ lunch out), but damn, if you were on a schedule, you’re be SOL. They swapped us around with waiters at first which is always a risky sign but the girl was fine. All told, I see no reason not to continue visiting Mimi’s. As long as their French Onion Soup recipe has stayed the same, I’m theirs for life!

I went to Mimi’s yesterday with a group of ladies thinking we would be able to get a hearty«family-style» meal to find out they went«French». So sad! Not to say the food we had wasnt’ good, it was but we really, really miss the original menu items. I just can’t wrap my head around going to Mimi’s and ordering a Le Burger or a Le Salad. Mimi’s used to be a great place where we could go for«comfort» food, not any longer, even the breakfast menu has changed and you can’t get breakfast any time of the day any longer. I hope you think about possibly changing back… we need more places like the original Mimi’s. For that I can only give you 2 stars.

It was not only an amazing meal but the people are wonderful! From the weight staff to the management! It was a pleasant experience! We had our almost 2 year old and they give you a starter for them, some Cheerios and whole wheat crackers. The people are amazing and the food was also great! Can’t wait to go again and try more from their menu!!! Loved it! Great family atmosphere!

Visited this place a few month ago. The food was ok. I had veggie wrap; I had better wraps at Chipotle. The portion was small relative to the price.

I actually kind of like Mimi’s. I have only been there once, earlier tonight actually. It was pleasant, plenty of seating, courteous waiter, and fast food service. I only ordered the fried artichokes, which I must say are delectable. It’s great that they are in pieces, as I was expecting having to peal it, and they were hot and crispy. It was roughly 10 pieces or so(didn’t count them so I’m estimating), but that was surprisingly enough for me to be full. My other half ordered the cobb salad, which is steal at only $ 9. The salad also comes with a muffin of your choice. We also ordered Perrier to drink and an Arnold Palmer. The waiter, younger skinny guy, was absolutely friendly and accommodating. While Mimi’s is not my first choice for a restaurant, I wouldn’t be deterred if I had to go back.

I have come to Mimi’s café a few times now and it never dissapoints. Great service, great food and great prices. Wednesdays are half price bottles of wine and I can appreciate that. I hate when restaurants markup the price of a bottle of wine significantly. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the Beef Bourguignon. The fish and chips are battered in Sam Adams beer and they were so crispy and delicious. My husbands beef was so flavorful with the vegetable stew it was in. The only thing I would have to say is the location. Its kind of in a hidden location.

Had dinner here a week or so ago and while I think our server was great, I wasn’t terribly impressed by the food. I wouldn’t say that any of it is bad, but it was forgettable. Their muffins, however, are very good. Moist and delicious! This might be a better place for breakfast than for lunch, so I’d consider coming here again to try that out and will upgrade my rating if the food wows me.

I love their freshly baked assorted bread that they serve before your meal arrives. The food is just okay, but some of the dishes are excellent! Like my pasta dish. It was fettuccine with artichoke, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and herbs. I loved it! The ambiance is okay. They have a decent kids menu. The food is very reasonably prices as well. I’m definitely coming back.

I recommend! Today we came here by pure accident as the Juicy-O restaurant which we had a Groupon for was slam packed! So after driving around a bit decided to try this place and what a nice surprise it was! One of my clients told me about about this place but we did not realize it was so nice inside! I assumed in was typical little Greek joint restaurant like Omega or Pancake Café– noooooo much nicer! I loved their décor inside! They had a ton of New Orleans type of décor with some very cool pictures that would go great in my kitchen with all the French Chefs etc. I had Cinnamon Brioche French Toast which came with 2 eggs and sausage which was really good! When we got our bill there was this thing to get a pack of 4 freshly assorted baked muffins which I then asked our waitress if I could do on my iPhone and she said sure we’ll be able to do that! So I filled out this short survey on my phone and filed their eClub thing and got a free package of muffins! They had a full bar inside and very big inside! Not crazy expensive, good service, great décor, clean, 5 minutes from home– this will definitely be our new place!

We had such a pleasant experience here yesterday. Our waiter was so helpful with answering our endless questions and helping to make our little guy feel comfortable while dining. This place was packed; luckily my husband made reservations earlier in the morning. We ordered a three-slider appetizer that was delish! It came with a spicy ketchup that added enough«pop» to the meat. I enjoyed the 10.99 two-course: French onion soup and a Parisian shrimp salad. The soup was tasty and the perfect size. There were more onions than liquid, but I like onions. I’m not sure why they call it a“Parisian” salad. There was feta cheese on it with Romaine, artichoke and diced tomatoes. It was good nonetheless. The skewered shrimp was grilled well and there was a perfect amount of spice to the flavoring. My husband had the Jambalaya. It was such a large portion and spicy. He loved it. I tried a taste but liked mine better. Lastly, we enjoyed an apple crisp with some coffee. The apples were perfectly done and the crisp was crispy. The sauce inside gushed out after every bite. I normally don’t mention coffee in a review, but this coffee had a unique flavor. It was chicory-like. Really good.

This was a first visit & defiantly the last. This was an impulse visit, as my son was in for the weekend and suggested it. Thankfully it was just the two of us. It was about 11:30am on a Saturday when we arrived, so we did expect it to be busy. The parking lot was adequate and we found a spot quickly. As we walked in I noticed people in the breezeway and in the large lobby waiting for tables. So I figured we could be waiting quite a while. Took my son’s name, handed us a buzzer and we sat down at a small table in a walkway. I started to look around and noticed quite a large number of EMPTY tables and booths. In fact, in one section alone the whole side was empty, plus several across the walkway. Many tables were not cleared either. There was plenty of tables for all the guests that were waiting. Half-hour we were finally seated. They asked us if we were having breakfast or lunch even before we sat down. We hadn’t decided at that time,(hadn’t seen a menu) so she gave us only one menu of each. We both decided to order off the breakfast menu. My son ordered the Stuffed Blueberry French toast, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He did mention it was very sweet, and there was no need to add any syrup.(they served it with maple, should have been some type of berry) I originally was going to order the Eggs Benedict, but was talked out of it by our waitress who suggested the Crap Benedict. I love crap cakes and thought it sounded interesting. Plus I’m trying to cut carbs & I did mention that to the waitress. When our orders came I was surprised to see the red potatoes on the plate along side the eggs, but later realized that was a good thing. The eggs & the Hollandaise sauce was good, the crap cakes were an INEDIBLE gooey uncooked mess. It is making me nauseous even thinking about it now. When the waitress stopped by to check on us, I showed her the crap cake and she just shrugged her shoulders and said the prep guy must have made a mistake, he’s new. Then instead of removing it from the table, she just walked away! So I tried to toughen up and eat it. I was only able to barely make it through one and ate most of those red potatoes to get it down. You have to understand I was very hungry by this point(we had not had anything to eat that day). I finally had to push the plate away to the table edge, as the waitress passes by. She looks at it and asks if there was something wrong. I told her I just couldn’t stomach any more of that gooey mess. I must of looked purple or something, cause she ran off with the plate. She returned later and said something about«She said to give you these» and places a container of four muffins on the table and our check. Which by the way they DID charge me for the meal. The waitress keep blaming the prep guy for the crab cakes. I guess she was worried about her tip. If I were her I would worry about the restaurant staying in business so I would still have my job. We will NEVER return here, even if someone else is paying!!! Still nauseous!!! I need to get this out of my mind!!! One thing I forgot to mention, the whole time we were seated at our booth, workers kept walking out of the kitchen area loaded with dirty dishes and walking past all of the booths we were sitting at. Don’t know where behind us they were going, but the design of the restaurant is poor if you have to do this.

I had heard that Mimi’s was a little pricy. But hell, if the food is good quality it equals out. What I didn’t expect were the tiny portions. If I’m paying $ 13.00 for a dinner, I shouldn’t have to search the plate for the main course. Maybe the bad sign was when the hostess became huffy when I requested to sit in a booth. Sorry, I hate tables because it seems everyone bumps into you during dinner. I like my personal space. We order our dinners. I went with the mahi mahi, while my mom ordered a fried fish plate with shrimp. We both had soup as well. The French onion was extremely salty. My gumbo didn’t even taste like gumbo. It was more like beef gravy with gumbo vegetables. The bread was good but it was one mini sample with a pad of butter. The main entrees arrived and there was complete disappointment with both plates. My mom’s fish was a single fish stick with two tiny mini shrimps on top of a bed of fries. The mahi mahi was a small(2oz?) square of fish with a citrus sauce that was definitely overpowering. When the asparagus looks giant compared to the fish, that’s a problem. I wasn’t expecting half the sea on my plate, but damnit for that price I expected more. I didn’t pay a good dime for brown rice and asparagus alone. My fish was cooked well, but my mom’s was completely overcooked to the point it was flaking and she could barely eat it with a fork. Dessert time came with more sad faces. The chocolate mousse wasn’t light and airy, but had a thicker consistency than even pudding. The apple crisp was adequate though the apples were a bit sour in some spots. The service here was mediocre. Our waitress did her job and nothing more. One part did bother me. When the soups were served, I had a spoon with my bowl but the waitress told my mom, «Our busboy didn’t show up so you’ll have to use the spoon in the(folded silverware set) napkin.» That struck me as a tad unprofessional. If Mimi’s was telling me something, I heard loud and clear. I don’t think I’ll ever be back. Something is wrong when every table around us was getting food comped for some reason or another.

Mimi’s rating went down as our dining experience continued. The restaurant is spacious, and upon being seated, I mentally noted that the next booth’s pancakes and breakfast potatoes looked delectable. I tried the seasonal turkey pistachio salad croissant. It tasted like all the ingredients of a salad: mayo, celery, cranberries, fat. But when the sammich doesn’t taste like the two ingredients in the name of the dish, uh, something’s gone wrong. We had every intention of giving the classic ensemble dessert a try, mini versions of bread pudding, brownie a la mode, and apple cinnamon crisp all served on a platter, but the waitress plopped our check down on the table before we could even order it. How often does that happen? I’m used to being beaten over the head with a dessert menu and/or pleading for the check so I can go off on my merry way. Anyway, my dining mate and I are dessert monsters, so we ordered the ensemble, but Mimi’s ran out of bread pudding! HEARTBREAK! Mimi’s didn’t have any day old bread? Really? So we substituted the chocolate mousse for the MIA bread pudding, and the mousse turned out to be the best of the three samplers. The brownie was pretty funky in a bad way. I have never consumed a baked good that tasted like seaweed. The bathroom smelled like dirty water and Chlorox. Just foul. Long story short: if you’re in this area, you’re much better off dining at Biaggi’s.
