Great staff, loads of tv’s, food is not memorable at best, and terrible when it is not served hot.

Excellent location within walking distance to hotels and medical facilities. The food is great and has lots of variety. Love the drinks too. Comfortable setting and atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Great selection of beers on tap + good food + decent service + tv’s everywhere = a great time. Prices are a bit high for bar food but then again this ain’t Friday’s.

Best place for a quick bite, or a group get together or to watch our favorite sports teams on TV! Extra friendly staff and delicious food at reasonable prices! So happy to have Main Event in our neighborhood!

I’ve been too both locations numerous times. The Farmingdale one is MUCH bigger and the Plainview one is more homey feeling. I personally like the Plainview one better. They both have lots of TV’s so no matter where you sit you can see one. The food it decent. Nothing to write home about but I’ve never been disappointed either. Sort of like an Applebee’s. I like the burgers and and sandwiches with a beer. It’s a fun atmosphere to go to with some friends. There’s always lots of activity going on and noise from the TV’s which I like. Definitely a good place to check out if you’re craving a TGI Friday/Appebees type of dinner but with a more unique sports bar atmosphere.

Food is OK. Not great. Lots of TV so it’s a cool spot to go for drinks and to watch the game. This place usually gets crowded around the bar around happy hour since the hospital is across the street and all the medical offices around. My office usually go there for happy hour.

Good food, wait staff was great. Great place to see your favorite sport event. Enough big screens to see all. Looking forward to going back. Prices were good.

This is a very good sports bar that has a large(very) menu, great selection of draft beer and a willing staff. It has a very large dining room — 2 separate rooms — as well as large bar seating. The wings are very good — large, plump, fresh. Their burgers are good but not great. I think they could benefit from reducing their menu(definitely«diner» influenced) and focusing on improving a more limited offering. But that is only an opinion. They will often accommodate special requests and the execution is good. The atmosphere is fun, LOUD and active– something I like when going! Important to review this place in the context of what it is! It can get busy on special game nights or when the local teams are playing. Football Sunday’s are crazy, so plan ahead!

Manager could care less about customers here. Food is going down hill, served lukewarm at best. After coming for years and being disappointed and sending food back for first time manager became argumentative and loud, refusing to take responsibility. as we tried to be discreet he made a scene. I ordered a prime rib medium rare that came greyish brown. he insisted warming the meat changed the color but was medium rare. ok maybe but don’t have to yell it at me and I don’t have to eat something unappetizing for $ 27. on top of all this he reeked of cigarette smoke so much so I completely lost my appetite. will never go back — sad after being a regular since it opened.

Food was amazing and the service was great … There were TV’s every where which made watching the games perfect… I would have no problem telling any of my friends to go there to watch any sporting event or just to eat there and I will absolutely be returning

Went here last night with my boyfriend and a girlfriend who was visiting from out of town. Our waitress was pleasant, helpful and attentive, absolutely no complaints about her service. We wee seated immediately even though it was very busy inside, however we did call ahead to reserve a table because we didn’t know if it would be packed(a football Sunday). We ordered our drinks first and they came very quickly. For food, we ordered the extreme nachos, the 24-wing special(though the price wasn’t that great, but whatever, this is where we chose to eat), and the mini-sliders on pretzel buns. The nachos were soggy and I believe there was more lettuce on the plate than chips. I would not order this again. The sliders were pretty dry, if you order without cheese they come as 4 plain patties on the pretzel-ish buns(no salt) and one large pickle in the middle of the plate. Some ketchup helped a little and we cut the pickle to add on, but the patties themselves were just beyond dry. I would not order this again, either. The wings, however, were a pleasant surprise since I didn’t expect very much of them. We ordered the buffalo(they also have bbq) and the flavor was delicious. Not overwhelmingly spicy, but enough heat to satisfy those who love buffalo wings. They weren’t tiny at all, which is something I find at a lot of sports bars with wing specials(they advertise a great price on a lot, but they’re so tiny with barely any meat per piece!) these were very good sized wings and while the outside was nice and crispy, the meat inside was tender and juicy. The ladies room was also surprisingly beautiful. I tend to judge a lot of restaurants heavily by how their bathrooms are, but I will say you don’t expect too much from a sports bar bathroom. This location, however, was really impressive. Everything was beyond clean, spotless even, with gorgeous marbled countertops and the sinks were very different, but looked brand new and beautiful. Plenty of soap, the dispensers work, plenty of paper towels and those touchless dispensers worked perfectly also. But really an impressive bathroom for a sports bar. The only kind of weird thing is that at around 8:45pm our waitress asked if we were ready for the check and informed us they were closing in 15 minutes. I will add that she was very polite about it and did not at all seem like she was rushing us out. The website lists much later, though it was a Sunday night. We were okay with it because we had finished eating and were just talking and finishing a round of drinks, but we noticed some other tables had just received their food. Within 15 minutes, most of the place was cleared out pretty well, surprisingly. Maybe they were closing early because the Sunday football games were over? Maybe they had a holiday party coming in at 9:30, I have no idea, but it seemed a little strange. I will definitely come back here and order something different, all in all we had a very good experience.

The Main Event has replaced the old Slugo’s. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful with its food & beverages. There are plenty of HD-TV’s for all you sports fanatics as this is what the Main Event has branded themselves to be. The food is okay. It’s priced fairly for the neighborhood it is in.

I’ve been to the main event a bunch of times when I was younger and it was still called«Sluggos.» I remember the small arcade in the back corner, the big TVs, and the good food. Going back now and I gotta say… Eh. The food was blah. The nachos had all soggy chips, the potato skins were missing something. I got a burger in a hero roll. It was two-quarter-pound patties with barbecue sauce, bacon, cheese, the works. Problem with the extra bread was the bread was the worst part! The burger patties were mostly dry and tasted like they came out of a sterno. The best part of it was the bacon, and it’s really hard to mess up bacon without completely leaving the room. The desserts, however, were better. I tasted the oreo pie, yummy, the ice cream cake, also good, and the apple pie, not so good. With the amount of options nearby for good american food, I don’t think I need to go back to The Main Event any time soon.

I will definitely miss this place. I enjoyed stopping here for lunch. The food is very tasty and the drinks thumbs up. I cant say how the service is after hours when it gets busier however. My favorites are the teriyaki chicken and shrimp on garlic bread. Yummy!

I really have mixed feelings about this place. Sure, the beer is cold and they have cider but the food is so hit and miss. The burgers have ranged from old mushy meat to fantastic, the grilled chicken is consistent but nothing special. Plus this place doesn’t ever buy you a round. Come on guys… after two rounds buy your patrons the third… cheapos.

Went there yesterday with three friends. I ordered a burger, medium rare, the others ordered different stuff. The burger came out well done. I’m not a problem diner, so I figured I’d eat it. The following day, both me and one other person were crapping liquid like crazy. Good thing the burger was overcooked, or I might have full-blown food poisoning. Also the service was sort of crappy, and the food was generally mediocre(on the way in).

Great bar food, tons of TVs and the bartenders make great drinks. If you are looking for a place to catch the game or just a place to grab a burger and a beer you can’t go wrong with this spot.

This sports bar is huge! Plenty of room for you and all of your buddies to check out the game. There are tv’s everywhere, so every seat is great and you’ll never miss a moment. There are about two dozen beers on tap all of which are non craft options. They do carry about four different craft brews in bottles. Unquestionably, the beer selection is catered towards those whom enjoy the AB-InBev offerings. There are hundreds of offerings on the menu. They offer any American dish that I could think of. I opted for the all American burger. It was a hefty portion and came with a large serving of fries. I asked for the burger to be cooked to a medium rare, and my request was well accommodated. Overall, it’s a good spot to bring a large group of friends to watch the big game.

YES for lunch or happy hour! This place is really big, and has tons of TVs everywhere, and its usually pretty easy to get a spot. Definitely go for the buffalo chicken fingers! You end up getting an enormous portion, too, which is great! Highly recommended.

Don’t try the ribs unless you want something you can take with you on a trip for beef jerky. Wait I’m sorry that was a dig on beef jerky, some brands are actually not this dry. First of all they do fall off the bone. Basically because there is no moisture left it make them adhere. Secondly, I ordered sauce on the side(thank goodness) but I think(at least I hope) they gave me ketchup instead of the BBQ sauce. #sadness.
