Finally decided to use up this gift card I’ve had for foreva… Food is a solid ok. I got the Thai shrimp salad which was super tasty and spicy. Shrimp nicely cooked. I can’t complain. If I get another gift card I might come again but other than that not really. Just nothing unique and interesting enough to come back. So many places like this. They kind of blurrrrrrr together.

Applebee’s is a stop for when I’m pressed for time, hungry and in the area. The food is always just ok. Its consistently meh but prices are descent sort of like a step above Friendly’s but not as good as its competitor.

This review is couple of weeks late… Its been ages since I’ve been to an Applebee’s. We were on our way back home & hungry. So we decided to stop at Applebee’s. We ordered the kobe style meatballs, grilled chicken wonton tacos, Thai shrimp salad, cedar grilled lemon chicken & a perfect margarita. Their food were a bit on the salty side. Other than it being salty, it was good. Perhaps we should have asked them to hold the salt. But who knew? Maybe it was just this location or it was because we came a few hours before closing so their food wasn’t as freshly prepared. Who knows. Regardless, Applebee’s is always a favorite so we will definitely go back. Perhaps to a different Applebee’s elsewhere.

Very few positives if any of this restaurant, primary complaint is with the quality of the food. Me and my girlfriend just left this restaurant and her food was so substandard. She ordered shrimp and brocolli cavatappi that was clearly missing the brocolli when brought out by the waitress. Also the pasta lukewarm at best and undercooked. Also the Alfredo was just slapped on the side of the plate and was barely warm, the only hot thing on the plate on was the shrimp strangely. It appears they were just warmed up in microwave. Does Applebees not cook food fresh anymore? The manager thankfully took her meal off the bill, not what we were looking for by complaining about the meal but just looking for better quality control from kitchen and waitstaff. The waitress clearly saw that the meal wasn’t right when she brought it out. This was unacceptable all around service.

Okay as far as chain restaurants go. All of the food is definitely frozen, not fresh. Prices are pretty decent though. Oddly enough, the French Onion Soup I got was really tasty. One of the better French Onions I have tasted. Pot stickers were good, not great. Both dipping sauces were good. One was super spicy, the other was more a doctored up soy sauce. My boyfriend got the Thai Salad. He said it was good, had a kick to it. Service was excellent and maybe my reason for 3 stars. Our waitress Kristen, was excellent. I’d go back, no major problems but wouldn’t make it a priority to visit of I was in the area.

Giving 3 stars because I had stopped going there cause the food went downhill. I am just starting to go there once in a while, has been good the last 2 times I was there I would give 5 stars but they are slowly earning my trust again. Very good staff, clean, working on trust again for food.

Busy but service was fast. Sat at the bar and both food and drinks were served quickly. Love the ambiance and company.

Step up above Friendlys that’s for sure. There is always a wait here and service is average. I used to go quite often, before I realized there are much better places in the world. I will say that Applebee’s does try hard with its menus. 2 for 20’s, healthy eating menus, that’s rather enticing. However, chains like these have been going downhill for me for quite some time and I wouldn’t step foot in an Applebee’s ever again. Just not into big chains, frozen food, overpriced drinks.

I mostly go for the 2 for $ 20 menu. It gives you the bang for the buck. Their cedar grilled lemon chicken was awesome.

With there being so many other restaurants around, why go to a chain like Crapalbees?

I received a mug with a lip stain on it. The waitress should have looked at the mug before serving me. The table and the booth was sticky and I had to ask to have it cleaned. Honestly, the restaurant smells like the carpet hasn’t been cleaned in years. #lifeinCT

So here we go again. I have not been to an Applebee’s in over 10 years because its so bad. The kids asked me to take them somewhere they have never been so i said I would give them another chance. So far we were made to wait along time at the door in a half full restaurant. Then the hostess was as cold as a DMV worker. Waitress took our order and did not even take the menus. Food took forever but was not bad

*sigh* I don’t often give out one star reviews… but I just can’t give them much more in good conscience. We WERE seated quickly on a sunday eve after a movie. Though the girl who was greeting seemed like she was so over greeting people. Our waitress was friendly and nice. Our drinks were good but how hard is it to get soda, water and a fruit punch really? We ordered, and waited, and waited. Then the waitress came over and told our one NON-meat eater that there were no veggie burgers. HE would have to order something else. Apps hadn’t even arrived yet. It had been quite a bit of time. I couldn’t believe that NOW they were finally telling us there were no veggie burgers. He ordered a salad. Apps finally came about 5 – 10 minutes later. They were good. Beercheese and pretzels and mozz sticks. All were decent with the pretzels being the better of the two. Entrée’s came shortly after maybe 5 – 10 mins more. Fiancé ordered a burger, med. Was freaking charred and totally WELL done. my steak was supposed to be med. Also well done. My friend who also got the steak, med, well done… *sigh* I think we will not be giving ya another chance. So far in the past 5 years no Applebee’s has been impressive. It might be time to either up your game or throw in the towel.

Went there today for Mothers day. My daughters picture is on the wall which is cool, the concept of the company is to represent your neighborhood which is cool. It was expected to be busy on a Mother’s Day, however the service was slower than what I anticipated. The waiter did a decent job, in keep our drinks coming, but at least give us an ETA on the food would have been better. Other people working there looked very unhappy to be there, and I guess I can understand, but your job is to create a friendly, welcoming environment for families, if you have problems at work and don’t want to be there, just go home.

The food here is ok. I stop in occasionally but usually do the car side to go. I’ve have to go inside to get my order after sitting for 10 minutes after I was told my food would be ready. Not happy with that.

Alas, zero stars are not registered. This restaurant is a dump. My wife and I ordered burgers. The waiter asked if we wanted«pink» or «no pink.» First of all, we aren’t third-graders. Second, I don’t think it would have mattered. We sent back my wife’s burger because it was a dried-out hockey puck and the roll was obviously stale and rock-hard. I told the waiter that I would appreciate it if the kitchen tried a little harder, he came back with«well, I didn’t cook it.» The manager returned with a new burger that was just as gnarly with a bun that was just as stale, and we sent it back again. The third time, the bun was cold and squished, like a 7 – 11 breakfast biscuit. Needless to say, yuck. Interestingly, on our way out we heard another table complaining about their burgers. C’mon America! Isn’t anybody TRYING anymore???

Late Post: Originally written 2⁄2012 — Poor service. Greasy finger prints all over the edge of the plate. Waited quite a while for the server to stop by after the expediter dropped off the entrees. By then we’d finished our iced teas. Had to make a second request of the server for steak sauce after I’d asked for it with the initial order. $ 44.39 later I’m not a happy customer. Oh, and they had a dining room chair up against the exit door by the bathroom..

My aunt, uncle, and cousins treated me to Applebee’s as a second choice to their crowded, local place. As a result, we were already disappointed by not going to our first choice. The evening started off well: we got a rock-star parking and saw a sign for«lady’s night» immediately upon entering. This«lady’s night» meant a Lia Sophia Party and $ 5 martinis. It kinda went down from there. My cousins both ordered from the kid’s menu: chicken tenders. Unfortunately, they both thought that the three chicken tenders weren’t enough for them. Why only a measly three chicken tenders?! My uncle’s burger came out wrong and they had to fix it. Not just cooked wrong. It had the obviously wrong toppings. My soup(cheesy broccoli) was like cheese dip. I ate warm cheese dip. Then I also ordered cheesy corn. This was my mistake. I thought it would be like creamed corn. It was not. It was cheese with corn kernels in it and it was gross. My little cousin was the only one who got a dessert. He specifically asked for cookies’n’cream in his dessert«shot.» It was ice-cream and chocolate. There was hardly any cookies in it. I didn’t see any. He didn’t taste any. My aunt(who didn’t comment on her food) said that she could taste some cookie. So, that’s why I gave Applebee’s only a single star that denotes: Eek! Methinks not. The best thing about the evening(and the whole point to begin with) was to spend time with my relatives and that was really great.
