While the selection is nice the prices are close to brand new books. I shouldn’t have to pay $ 8 for a very used vc Andrews flowers in the attic book qhen you can order it online from amazon for a dollar cheaper and brand new. I support local so I don’t mind going in from time to time to see if they maybe have something different I wouldn’t find somewhere else. owner also wouldn’t use my gift card from the previous owner, a little off putting seeing as how most books are donated

Having looked everywhere for discounted books I finally found a place that has the quality and prices that I wanted. I had been going to the super store in Salem but they’re now closed so Well Read is the go-to place for me. The staff is friendly too. They also had a nifty stamp card so whenever I spend $ 5 I get a stamp mark. I half-filled my card on the first visit. When the card is filled you get 25% off the next purchase. Sweet!

Just before their two year anniversary, Well Read Books changed hands. I met the new owner when I went in to buy a book and use my gift card. The new owner told me all the reasons why he wasn’t honoring the old owners gift cards. This did not endear me to the new owner. The whole visit left me with a bad taste in my mouth and though I love to promote and shop local businesses, I’m probably gonna pass on this one from now on.

I loved small used bookstores. This was a nice one, although the prices were not as cheap as you can find in some of the bigger stores. They had a great selection of Dungeons and Dragons and other gamer fare. In fact, there was a Magic: The Gathering game going on just to the back of the shop so it looks like they cater to gamers. I didn’t see any books that I was searching for but they had a huge selection of mysteries. They also had a clearance section outside. Fun to browse and it was interesting to listen to the game going on in the background as I looked at the books!

The owner of this place is super nice and he does give a teacher discount, which is awesome. I have to admit, now that I have become a Kindle user, I do not buy«hard copy» books for myself anymore. Even though this guy sells for cheap, I just don’t want the clutter. Anyways, He had a good selection of young adult books, which are good to stock up on for schoolrooms, but not exactly what I was looking for. It’s a revolving inventory of used books, but he does have some new books on hand of the latest/most popular paperbacks and stuff that’s on the Timberlane reading list as well.
