Alid is a place where you can save a lot of money if you are not too picky about name brands as they will be hard to find. Almost all products are Aldi’s specially manufactured products and that is not all that bad as some products do measure up to some of the name brands. This is not a large store and they have a limited number of items and an even more limited number of employees. Each time we have been there we have seen one cashier and one sticker. The meat counter is self service and the selection is not that expansive. Same with the produce counter however the prices for the products usually beats any other advertised prices by their competitors. We seldom purchase any of the canned items as we don’t think they match name brand merchandise. The veggies are goods, eggs and milk usually a bargain and the frozen foods we have always found to be acceptable. You must«rent» you grocery shopping cart — 25 cents which will be returned after you finish shopping and provided you don’t forget the cart is holding your quarter. Bring your on bags for your groceries.

There are a few things to know before coming. Bring change for a cart and bring your own bags. They also do not take credit Cards so bring cash or debit. The store mostly carries their own brand. They have great prices of spices, milk and eggs. The checking out process can be a bit slow but that is it. If you don’t know what Aldi is before coming, I can see your disappointment but I like the prices so it’s Great!

I’ve been to Aldi before, so I knew what to expect. That said, this is no bueno. The bad: The prices at Aldi aren’t much cheaper than Wal-Mart’s, but it has even less ambiance… which says something. The meat looked super slimy, and most of the juice was sticky. It’s kind of dark and very, very gloomy. The good: I will say that if you’re looking for a part-time job, it seems like the checkers have a sweet gig– over $ 10/hour and they get to sit down.

I never shop at Aldis, but I heard through the grapevine to try it out because of their lower prices. I went to this location yesterday to look for any meat alternatives such as tofu, as I am a pescatarian(only eat veggies and fish). To my disappointment, there was no tofu or meat alternatives to be found. They did have some fish for sale, but I could easily go to Tom Thumb and get better quality for a similar price. I will not be back to this location and not sure if I will visit another Aldis again as the selection of food offered does not mesh well with my diet.

I’ve been to this Aldi before and I enjoyed it… but not this day… I bought one of those take and bake pizzas just to try it out. I get home and I opened the box with the wrapped pizza only to find a smashed fly in it! I was highly upset and of course cursed the pizza and fly out! I quickly got sick to my stomach and threw the whole 16′ pizza away. I think I’m going to stick with my usual shopping spots.

I’m a little disappointed because I was expecting more from Aldi. All this hype about them coming to town and opening up multiple stores, I thought it was going to be a regulare place to frequent. I finally had the time to visit the store and I felt underwhelmed. Right when you walk in, the mood feels a bit somber. It wasn’t busy and happenin’ like TJ or Whole Foods, but there was a good crowd of people. I only saw 2 workers there: a cashier and a manager. Both seemed to be working pretty hard so kudos to them! The selection of goods were okay and I must say they have an interesting selection of chocolates(a lot of hazelnut stuff). It’s relatively cheap so that’s a plus too. They pretty much have what TJ has, but because of the layout and lighting, it didn’t feel right. Something was missing and I just couldn’t figure it out. If I need something real quick and I don’t see another grocery store in site, I’ll come back — but if I have more choices, I don’t think I’ll come back.

When you evaluate a grocery store like Aldi’s, you have to realize that they are a discounter — they are not full service and they are not big box. I visited Aldi’s for the first time this week and was surprised at their selection. A family could actually shop just at Aldi’s if they wanted to. I bought about a dozen items — dairy, meat, cookies, fruit. I keep a price list where I compare products across grocery stores. I compared the Aldi’s prices to prices at Tom Thumb, Wal-Mart and Costco — Aldi’s had the lowest price on 12 items except one. Taste and quality — their pork chops were fine, their chocolate chip cookies were as good as chip Ahoy. Aldi’s does not take credit cards — they just take cash, check and debit cards.

I think this new Aldi just opened even though the website says the Grand Opening will be Sep 8. The selection is good and the prices seem reasonable. The store has a very«minimalist» feel to it. Definitely doesn’t have the«hip factor» like its rival Trader Joes. BTW…Aldi only accepts cash or debit so prepare accordingly. They were handing out free bags on the way out. Lots of freebie samples throughout the store.
