Good guac but honestly the place is a mess. I really don’t know what I am going to get when I come here and it always turns out to be the wrong choice. Somehow it seems to be happening and hip though.

Wow! This is incredible Tex Mex. Quality all the way around… meats, cheese, grilled tortillas, veggies. Margaritas were delicious, especially the chile mango. Queso was a little bland. Paolo was a friendly and attentive waiter. Atmosphere is nice. We will definitely be back! I wish they’d open one in Allen/Fairview!

Wow… this place has really changed. The location I went to I’m Coppell was always friendly, prompt and courteous. This place has gone done hill. The first couple of times I attributed the gap to be because of a different location(dry chicken, different portions), but it hasn’t gotten better. 5 tables around us who got here later got their chips and salsa before we did. The waiter took forever to take our order. Then, when we got the leftovers ready to go, we asked for some extra chips and salsa. He said there is a $ 3.75 charge. …really??? Been coming here since ’07, and was never charged to take some home with the food. Definitely not the same friendly place. Additionally, the guacamole cart was really dirty, and in general, people that work here are not responsive. I guess all good things must come to an end. Hate to drive to Coppell, so I guess the only time I’ll be coming back is when I’m in that area. :-((

THEREWAS A HAIRINOURSALSA. I REPEAT, A HAIRINOURSALSA. This was no tiny hair either. I was one of those long black hairs that was curled up in the bottom of the salsa bowl that would make a man with an iron stomach want to puke. It was BEYOND disgusting. When I brought this to our waiters attention, I thought I would at least get an apology but NOOO. He merely took away the salsa and brought another bowl and said NOTHING. like he really thought that I was going to actually eat another bowl of that hairy salsa. On top of that, our service was so poor, it took every ounce of my being not to get up and walk out. We arrived at 7:30, got seated at 8:45 after we told the host that SEVERAL people who came in after us, with a similar party size, got seated before us. By the time our waiter decided to come over, it was 9:00. We ordered food and 1 drink and it didn’t come out until 9:45. By the time we left, it was after 10:30 and we ordered pretty simple food. The veggies(and by veggies I mean onions) and more onions were undercooked and burned on the fajitas. like how do you mess up fajitas? If you can’t make fajitas at a Mexican restaurante, GTFO. So basically everything from the service to the food to the salsa was bad. I think you’d probably be happier going to taco bell.

I’ve never had a worse service experience at a restaurant before. We came here for cinco de mayo. Anamia’s advertised drink specials but then neglected to allow any type of reservation or call ahead seating. The wait was about 45 minutes, which we thought was doable. As we waited we kept seeing parties of similar sizes being seated before us who came in after us. Mind you, we are a group of professionals, not some noisy hoodlums off the street. We inquired on the wait and were finally seated after pointing out what we’d noticed. We proceeded to wait nearly 2 hours for our food. By the time we asked for our checks the restaurant was near empty and it still took excessive time to bring out our bills. On a big popular holiday they really should have had a better plan to deal with the crowds. I likely will not return.

You must try this place if you are in the Plano area ! I love the customer service! They make guacamole by the table and it’s so neat to watch, plus the will add or take out anything you want from it! The food is great and it’s a upbeat environment. I just wish it was bigger! Sometimes we find ourselves waiting up to 30+ mins for a table. That just goes to show how popular this restaurant is.

Decided to give this place a visit after a pleasing experience at the Southlake location. Definitely incomparable. First of all, the portions were way off here. The taco salad I usually get at Southlake was twice as big as the one I got in Plano –huge disappointment. They also do not give any refills on drinks. Soda is given in cans so you will have to pay per can. –yet another disappointment. Service was subpar, nothing special. Not happy that this is the closest Anamia’s to me considering I love the restaurant(Southlake one I should say).

Must. Eat. Here. Again. We may have just found out new place(current Mi Cocina lovers). The atmosphere is modern and open. Service was impeccable. We had the Guacamole Molcajete, was delicious. Then we split the Ribeye Fajitas. LOVE. The manager knew it was our first time and made our visit special. 5 stars.

As a vegetarian I usually stick to cheese or spinach enchiladas at Mexican food restaurants. They have fabulous veggie enchiladas that are among the best I’ve ever had. Paired with black beans instead of re-fried(no hate on re-fried beans but in this case black pairs better) it makes for a meal I enjoy over and over again. Also, the margaritas are bomb. Nice and frozen, not that watery/slushy stuff that some restaurants try to pass off.

Return visit after long absence. Too much restaurant competition in Collin County. We liked the menu choices(not just rice and beans). Excellent service on New Year’s Eve. We will have to come back sooner than later.

It’s pretty much a 2.5−3 star place. There are much better Tex-Mex places in Dallas. Reasons why it’s not more than a 3 star: *Flour tortillas were very subpar. They don’t even try to act like they’re made on premises, they were dense, not fluffy, and not particularly warm *Steak Nachos came out warm/room temperature *Steak for Nachos and Fajitas just really didn’t have much flavor

We’ve driven by tons of times and have noticed that there’s always a crowd here. We’ve been on the lookout for a good local Mexican restaurant and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is family friendly but not kitschy. The wait staff is quick to serve and friendly without being overwhelmingly so. We found all of the food to be very fresh. The sangria is our sangria swirl margaritas(frozen, natch) was homemade and lacked the sinus-attacking bitterness found in many chain places. Yum. I had two. We ordered the queso fundido — it’s mixed(adding pico if you like) and served table side. We also ordered a standard combo fajita plate and split it. Very good! The beef was good, but we were really surprised with the chicken. It was tender, moist and flavorful. We finished by splitting an order of sopapillas. They were good as well but here’s an opportunity for improvement — they were served with small packets of Smucker’s honey. With so many fresh prepared items on the menu, we expected at the least a jar of honey(bonus if it was local honey). Even better would be some chocolate for drizzling and perhaps some cajeta. That will take this dessert to the next level. Overall, we’ll go back because it was a good dining experience!

Anamia’s definitely has a Mi Cocina type vibe going on. Lots of similarities. Lucky for me, I like Mi Cocina. The atmosphere is like an upscale mexican restaurant, but not really on the trendy side. There were a few kids scattered around the restaurant, so I guess it’s kind of a family place. It also looks like somewhere that middle aged divorced Plano people would go and sit at the bar. Not a bad thing though. The service was pretty good from the start, and even though me and my father consumed all of the chips and salsa faster than the poor waiter expected, we were refilled expeditiously. We ordered the table-side guac for an appetizer. We wanted a half order, so the waiter explained to us that the full order comes with 4 avocados and the half order comes with 3 avocados. Go figure. The waiter also seemed to realize that the math didn’t make sense. When making the table-side guacamole, they ask for your spice preference, so we went with the spiciest option. Sure enough, it was really spicy, but also really delicious. Way better than the pre-made stuff that they give you as a side with certain meals. I ordered a half order of the crazy nachos with ground beef for dinner. Why they’re «crazy», I don’t know. They were just bean and cheese nachos with ground beef. I’d order them again. The quesadillas that father ordered were really good also. The tortilla they use on the outside is super flaky and they don’t skimp on the fillings either. It’s a convenient location with good food, so I’d go back if the opportunity presented itself.

If you decide to eat here for lunch make sure your waitress is not the woman with the long brown hair. She did not introduce herself from the very beginning. My party and I sat down at 1:03, she didn’t take a single food order at our table until 1:20. Meanwhile, guest that came in after we did were seated and eating before we even had our orders taken. The food would have been okay if my order was right the first time. I didn’t get the correct order until 1:40 and I had to be back to work at 2. I could see if the place was packed or she had allot of tables but she didn’t. Furthermore, anything you told her you needed she either didn’t bring it or she brought it out wrong. In addition to this, we complained to the manager Fransisco about this. He offered to refund the money for my meal but he said it would take a while. I don’t have a while. I’ve waited way to long for everything anyway. I made it clear I will not be coming back for this type of service.

I swear, these guys never disappoint. I’ve been here before many times and was so impressed by the service. The night of my review, I neglected to make a reservation. It’s Friday night and they’re as busy as can be. 30 – 45 minute wait. We walked up to the crowded bar and there was no room to order drinks while we wait. No problem, because before we said a thing, a waiter approached us asking if we’d like drinks. Just like that. In minutes, he brought them out. And then checked on us — during our wait. This guy was awesome — so on top of things! We sat down in the front area, and another waiter came by with a tray of nachos offering us free appetizers. I’ve never seen that before and what a brilliant idea to make your wait easier. Staff were moving and cleaning up at lightening speed. Their food, drinks and atmosphere are worth the wait, but the service is top notch! We were seated, and the service was just as great when they are slammed as on a not so busy night. Two big birthday parties going on, along with the Friday evening crowd and they were packed. They never skipped a beat. We were stunned at how fast our food came out and it was wonderful as always. Other bigger restaurants should look to you as a model. I’m never, never sorry coming here on any night.

Get here early they will have a line. Parking is pot luck but depends on the day if you park in back. I lve the sauce and the chips. The dessert sopapillias are exccellnt. My wife and i eat there and take out fsjitas for the kids. If yoi need a TV sit near or in the bar the service is as good. If the wait is lomg they walk the nacho tray around and serve you for cocktails while you stand. Love that.

Love this restaurant. We only ever sit in the bar when we go. The service is incredibly slow in this restaurant so make sure you aren’t in a rush. I recently ordered the skinny jalapeño margarita. It was perfect! Lightly sweetened with a hint of heat. Their sangria is also really good! It’s a bit strong so drink slowly! For food we ordered the Kelli’s queso. It’s queso, guacamole and beef all piled in one amazing bowl. It was sooo good! This is definitely a must to order. For a main course I ordered G’s tacos. Its three corn tortillas with Mexican coleslaw, chicken, tomatoes, and avocado. Personally I hate coleslaw but whatever this version was worked for me! The tacos were packed so full I actually had to scoop things out to be able to pick them up. The shrimp tacos are also really good! I always order them with corn tortillas. They have nice a light spice to them. The bathrooms were clean, the restaurant was beautifully decorated and the other patrons were entertaining. The bar is a great place for people watching. Overall an awesome restaurant. I’ll definitely return.
