I’ve dined in a couple times before. Everything was fine, ordered take out a couple times since I work in the shops. Today, I ordered a simple onion soup and an agedashi tofu appetizer. When I picked up the food, walked back to work during my short break, they messed up mine and another colleague’s order. I called back and told them what was missing and what was wrong and they said they would re-make my food. I get my food re-made and had it for lunch. Later on that day I started to feel ill. I even threw up what I had just eaten prior today!!! I don’t have a weak stomach at all but something tells me they weren’t happy to have to re-make my food when I told them they messed it up! Never will dine here again!!!

Extremely poor customer service here. Made a reservation and still waiting on our table and it has already been 30 minutes and still NO table!

Was there to celebrate a birthday. I’ve been to other locations in different states and expected the same quality of food. The meal was bland and flavorless.

The hibachi was very run-of-the-mill and not super impressive. We had advance reservations, and still waited nearly 30 minutes. Couples that arrived after us were seated before us despite us arriving on time for our reservation. Hibachi always takes a while, but the service was only average-below average. The chef was entertaining, but if your drink ran out, you were out of luck if you wanted to find the waiter. Their sherbet at the end was pretty good, and the chef definitely tried to engage his audience. The food was average. Overall, I was under-impressed with the service and food for the price we paid.

I had been to other hibachi restaurants before then which I had been quite content with before I visited Benihana for the first time. I went in with my dad and his girlfriend thinking there was no way it could be as good as the others. The first two course, the soup and salad were not served together, very far apart, and we had to wait around fifteen minutes before anyone came to greet us or take drink orders. That being, when the chef came out, it was amazing. Our chef was entertaining as all get out, an absolute riot! He sang songs to us about what he was doing, and was extremely interactive the whole time! Just hilarious! The food was good, just about standard for these restaurants, but I was extremely complimentary of the teriyaki sauce, as it was not just bland and sweet, but very flavorful. Great experience, would recommend.

Not off to a good start. 8pm reservation on a Sunday. 15 mins to get seated. Another 15 mins longer to get drinks to the table. Seem to be understaffed. But waitress, chef and food ended up excellent.

What an awful experience. First of all, I’m not a fan of overpriced and mediocre hibachi food. I came to this location for the first time for a friend’s bday. One of our friend requested for Chef Uno, because he had a great experience with this Chef and thought he’s the funniest guy ever. The whole time my friend was hyping him up and we were pretty excited until we saw him. He totally shut us down and told us there’s absolutely«NOREQUESTS.» He didn’t fail to reiterate over and over again that he does not like requests cause Benihana doesn’t pays him enough. He made it super awkward but we tried to be in good spirits because it was our friend’s b-day. To make matters worst, he totally didn’t give us the hibachi experience we should get, so it was just silent and awkwardness the whole time. Toward the end of the night, we saw him at a different table and people were laughing and having fun. So yup, he hated our table and made our night a little miserable. None of us appreciate this terrible service. I regret sitting here writing about my terrible experience instead of reporting it to the manager, and we tipped them that night. Now to the food. Everyone loves the fried rice here but it’s really nothing to write home about, and sadly that was probably the best thing I had there. We asked for rare filet mignon and the meat was still cold(and of course not rare). The lobster was actually very fishy and not fresh. We ended the night with a very forgettable green tea ice cream. This confirmed to me for the third time that I don’t like hibachi. What a unforgettable and horrible experience.

We had a really great experience! The food was totally amazing! This place is much better than Kyoto. The drinks were very good! I can’t wait to go back. The staff was super friendly and the chef entertained us while he cooked. :)

RIPOFFALERT! You’ve been warned. They charge $ 3.00 per fresh salmon sashimi… I wouldn’t have mind the price but the darn slice of fish was paper thin! That’s unbelievable and unacceptable! They are so stingy with their cuts. For that reason, I am no longer hitting up this joint.

I’ve been here twice now for takeout and both times have been a great experience. They did forget a part of the order tonight but when I went back they were extremely regretful and the manager made it right with a coupon so they really impressed me.

I went there this weekend for a birthday celebration. I had my 4 kids age ranges from 8 to 13 months. Our cook was not entertaining. This place is not cheap with 4 kids and my kids have been to a Benihana before and it was awesome and our previous cook was great. This time i saw my kids sad looking at the other tables who were being entertained by their cook and they looked really sad we were not seeing the same from ours:(. Also many of the other tables were mostly adults, and a table with kids our guy was doing NOTHING to even interact with us. Also I would have to grab the waitress for a refill and i had to ask several to times for her to clear off our table. When she did decide to pick items up off the table she took a soup my daughter was still eating from and that caused her to get really upset. The food was good, but we came here for the service and entertainement. That is why we paid $ 150 for fried rice. Also the drink should be included with the approx $ 13 shrimp or steak kids riice. So sad the cook could have made all the difference. I will not go back to risk getting another bad cook. Such ashame, comes down to customer service

Benihana never dissapoints! Great place to celebrate any occasion. Great place to take children and great for group dinners! I love their fried rice that I order extra so that I can have some the next day — delish!

A good place to hangout with friends. We had a ladies night out at my birthday. The service was good and the food was delicious, freshly made in front of us by an entertaining chef. The dessert for the birthday girl was complimentary and I was wished by the staff who sang for me. They also present you with the photo, hard and soft copy both. I had Hibachi Shrimps which was good with the good amount of serving They have an offer for birthday parties where you can use their coupon but it works from Mon-Thu.

I’ve been here twice now. First visited during lunch time. Recently went back for a Monday night dinner with the hubby. Upon arrival, there appeared to be plenty of seats, but we were told 10 minute wait. I’m pretty sure they try to wait and fill up all the seats at one hibachi grill. It didn’t take long for a few more people to show up and we were all seated. Now, I’m not the biggest fan of being seated with strangers while eating. Last time I came with a friend. One of the other patrons at our ‘table’ wasn’t aware of how the seating works, so he asked the server why we were sitting with him and his group. Awkward. He apologized, but still. This time, we chatted with the couple beside us. They were celebrating his birthday, so all of us at the table sang to him. Good times. They told us they usually come on their birthdays because of the $ 30 off coupon you receive after joining The Chef’s Club online. We also received a small handout advertising some of the perks of the club. Our chef«Buddy» was fun and did all the usual tricks and dry jokes. Food: I love fried rice. Was NOT a fan of him mixing in diced grilled chicken. Also, it was somewhat dry and lacking in flavor. Onion soup and salad with house dressing were okay. I really enjoyed my meal — Benihana Excellence: teriyaki beef, scallions, colossal shrimp. The grilled mushrooms, onions, and zucchini were good too. Hubby enjoyed his Land ‘N Sea: filet mignon and scallops. Drink: Haiku Colada was sweet and tasty. I thought we’d receive hot green tea with our meal(per the menu), but none of us at the table did. Glad I didn’t want any. We had sherbet for dessert. I find it pleasing to the palate after the heavy meal. Seating: I didn’t really like how they parked the food cart right beside me. Parking: garage It was a good meal with enjoyable conversation. We’ll definitely return. And we noticed the servers sang Happy Birthday about five different times; seems to be a really popular option due to that coupon!

We have been to this Benihana twice within the last 2 months to celebrate both my boys birthdays. It was their choices to come here. It’s popular place to celebrate a birthdays, yes? I will have to say this location is pretty inconsistent. Food is always good, but inconsistent. Last month when we went for one of the boys birthdays, they both got chef hats. Last night when we went to celebrate the other boy’s birthday, no chef hats, even though I specifically said it’s for a birthday when I called to make the reservation and then reminded them about the birthday when we checked in. Our chef was nice enough. However, NONE but one of the typical hibachi«tricks» was done. No «egg roll» or tossing of the eggs, no banging of the cooking utensils, no jokes. The only thing he did was the volcano with the onions and blew the train whistle. My husband and I had commented on the lack of showmanship last month and chalked it up to an inexperienced chef we got that night. But tonight, our chef was lacking more so than the last chef. Oh I forgot, he did toss the shrimp tails into his shirt pocket and hat. My boys were bored and unimpressed. I could see it in their eyes they were waiting for more, but more never came. On to some more inconsistencies. The fried rice. Our family was served the fried rice first. I had looked at our bowls and though they were a bit skimpy but didn’t mention anything. Then I saw the party next to us. Their fried rice bowls were over flowing! Usually the chefs would make it all the same and what’s left over he divvies up between everyone so the bowls don’t look so inconsistent. Then the veggies. There was a TON of onions. However, everyone just got one length wise slice of zucchini! Then it was cut into like 5 pieces. I remember getting a bit more than that. Why serve all that dipping sauce if there’s not even much to dip?! Then it was desert and happy birthday time. Literally, there were 2 employees there singing happy birthday to my 7 year old. Perhaps they were busy on a Monday night. However, I would assume you can gather more than 2 employees and take less than 3 minutes to sing happy birthday? Again, no chef hat for the birthday boy to be seen. He even questioned it «I didn’t get a hat this time!» I thought paying a little bit more at Benihana would yield more experienced chefs and more of an experience. I guess I thought wrong. We’ll be taking a break from this place for awhile and go back to other local hibachi places. BENIHANA — You’re a well-known brand. If you want to keep a good reputation with your brand, fix your process, train your people and be consistent across the board. Need help? I bill hourly for my consulting services. That is all.

I remember coming to to Benihana for high school dances and thinking it was such a big deal! Of course it still is a lot of fun. This place brings the entertainment and this location in particular is brighter than other locations. It doesn’t feel as Japanese-y. that thought is confirmed by the fact that our chef’s name was«Sanchez» but hey, no discriminating here. The food was yummy as ever and it is still a special feeling having your own chef for your group. I had the tuna and it wowed even those at my own table as the cut was great and high quality. Our party of 8 had our own table but there were others where parties shared. I always thought that was weird because you are watching other people eat and then people get up and leave at different times. Anyhow, this place is tucked away in the back corner of the shops so you kind of have to know it is there.

So I’ve pretty much gone to Benihana every year for my birthday since I was a teenager. This was my first time at this location. My initial impression was that it is very brightly lit! Come on, Benihana. Let’s get some more flattering lighting up in here. Aside from that, the experience is pretty typical for Benihana. I came with a party of 8 and had a reservation(definitely get a reservation for a big party). The«show» hasn’t changed over the years, but it’s fairly entertaining and the chefs really know how to cook«on stage.» If you have never been to a hibachi place before, it really is a unique experience. A bit expensive, but worth it for a special occasion. Also, if you have a group smaller than 8, it’s important to know that you’ll likely be sharing the experience with a few strangers. I had several lychee martinis. Those things are grrrrrrreat. Not too sweet and unexpectedly strong. I had the hibachi scallops, and they were cooked quite well. If you order a hibachi meal, it comes with miso soup(just ok) and salad(also just ok). They charge extra for fried rice, but you shouldn’t skip it. It’s delish. Fun place for my bday tradition, but I like the location on Coit in Dallas much better.

Restaurant was about ½ full, but still waited ten mins. When we were seated, the man didn’t turn the grill on high enough. We had to wait 45 minutes for the chef to start.(This was lunch time — not even dinner). Was at the grill with a family. The lady had three kids with her who I felt for. The man turned the grill up and his manager yelled at him in front of us. Not too professional. The chef was rushed and didn’t get to do his usual«tricks». So it wasn’t the full experience you’d expect. The food was tasty and cooked properly. Overall we spent two hours for lunch, which was much longer than I expected. I’ve been to other Benihana restaurants that delivered a good experience. I don’t feel they are all offering such poor service, but I doubt I’ll ever visit this one again. One plus is that the manager took 25% off the bill, but honestly that doesn’t really handle anything. It’s appreciated, but I would rather see the problem getting fixed.

I haven’t been to Benihana in years but I always crave hibachi around my birthday. If you have a birthday coming and you love hibachi, I suggest signing up for their emails. On your birthday you will receive a $ 30 discount off dinner Monday-Thursday. Very much worth it! Our $ 70 dinner was only $ 40 including tip! Though we had reservations we still had to wait 10 – 15 minutes for our table to set up. Our waiter was super friendly and paid great attention to his during service. What really made this experience great was our chef, Oh No(seriously that was his name according to his name tag). He was very funny and highly interactive which he needed to be since there were kids at the table. He not only gave an awesome show but he cooked great! I am obsessed with Benihana fried rice and have been doing my best to replicate it at home.(It’s probably the butter). I got an ice cream sundae, a happy birthday song, and a picture to capture the memories. It was a great night and ya can’t beat complimentary valet parking!
