This review is based on the lunch buffet and my first advice is to go early. We did not and it is apparent that they put out their lunch buffet items at opening and do not replenish them. We were there around 1:30 and scraped the bottom of the sambar and had plates of what was basically leftovers. There was no chicken Tikka except a few cubes, no paneer dishes, none of an eggplant dish, dried up tandoori chicken, mostly bony goat and dry fish fry. There was a tasty sauteed spinach dish, chickpeas, cumin rice, a chennai chicken dish with a delicious sauce, hot hot chicken wings and a variety of very good condiments and pickles. A tiny triangular appetizer of spinach was tasty — pakora, too. But they were making no effort to bring out anything else and probably weren’t getting anymore customers. I think lunch hour rush must be their thing. We had a Groupon for 50% off or the advertised full price of $ 12/person would have left me perplexed and steaming. So go early or don’t go, I would say.

Few dishes were really good. Like double ka dhamal, rasam, paper chicken, Coconut Barfi Just service quality need to improve. Buffet items were not refill for a long time like medu vada, puri, nan idly. Long time means around 30 min. I reminded them 3 to 4 time to refill it. Used plate on table were not picked up by waiters. I stacked 3 plate on my table. See attached pic

the new staff is not courteous. the manager is un-friendly. I used to go there often and was a fan of this place. but a few months back this place had a change in management and the new mgmt/staff/food deserve zero rating. with so many other indian eateries in Plano, I am not going to this place again.

The Sunday lunch buffet is $ 12.99 and definitely not worth it. By seeing the reviews, I expected there would be pretty good dishes on buffet. They do have plenty of items listed but the food counter is empty all the time. Not many non-veg dishes. No chocolate fountain. Chicken biryani is dried as if it is cooked previous day. They took atleast 20 mins to refill each dish. I almost lost my hunger. There aren’t many customers. Hardly 4 – 5 tables with 2 – 3 persons on them. If their service for such a small crowd is this bad, think how worse it will be when there are lots of people. And when asked if they are going to refill the chicken wings, the lady waiter answered with attitude — Yes, they take long time to make. If they are not capable of refilling the dish even after 25 mins, I don’t understand why they have that item on buffet. Horrible experience. Better stay far.

This place has SOME great food. Was not able to eat most of it as it was not served and the buffet ran out of food most of the time. But whatever I ate was good. Which is why I decided to go again. But the history repeated. Buffet ran out of food and me being a North Indian, need my naan/roti. Which I never saw for the 35 mins that I was there. Just when I say, that’s it I will leave, comes in a few naans. Which were gone by the time I reached the naan counter. So while we get the check, it says 20% gratuity for a buffet. So a party of 4, which is not even fed what was supposedly offered in buffet spread but just a part of it, pays 20% for getting the table cleant and getting water served(as explained by a very attractive looking waiter). Fair enough. We pay the bill sign and are speaking to friends who were waiting to be seated. Suddenly the big guy(manager with tie) starts yelling, you don’t tip the waiter(he spoke as if he knew me. I swear I don’t even live in that area and had seen him for first time). So in a nutshell my experience was, I paid full amount of buffet, did not receive all that I desired from the spread offered, waited for my roti, yet paid 20% gratuity which for a party of 5 would mean total cost of buffet of 6. And I GOTYELLEDATANDWASEMBARASSEDINFRONTOFCROWD I NEVERKNEW. I am considering not visiting Dallas and rather inviting family over to our side of country, where people even though don’t know us but are courteous to customers and where service is such that they don’t have to demand gratuity but we are obliged to tip for them being nice to us. I am terrified by the experience. If anyone feels different, please contact me and I can show you where the hospitality does not mean they doing favor to customers.

We went to Café Bahar for the first time as we ha a coupon. We live nearby but never tried this restaurant all this while I must say I loved their buffet spread. So many unique choices. Excellent food, lot of vegetarian and non vegetarian options at buffet. Dessert is especially unique and tasty. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to enjoy Indian food.

I’m always like pretty late for lunch at this place. An hour before the closing time they run out of dishes and don’t even bother of refilling them. Sometimes it happens to be that the servers get to eat the buffet along with us. That looks like a real crisis situation where unintentionally compete for food at the trays. I once asked the manager to refill a dish and he wasn’t even bothered to consider me seriously. But some items were way better than many peer restaurants. The chicken biryani and pepper chicken are awesome. Desserts again a. The price is $ 12 on a weekday which seems pretty high on their standards. Might go probably for some signature dishes.

I should have listened to the reviews. WHY didn’t I listen to the reviews?! Really terrible service, first off. I stopped in and asked if I could order to-go and was told to wait. Then ignored for about 10 minutes, and then I asked again, he asked me to wait again, and I told him I’d just leave. THEN he decided he could suddenly take my order. WTF? So then I ordered lamb biryani and naan and I waited about 15 mins for the food(not bad) and left and headed home. The biryani was just bad. I don’t think there was any edible lamb meat in the entire thing. I mostly got bone and gristle and it was so overcooked that IF there had been edible meat at one time, it had long since given up. The gravy/sauce they gave me for it had no flavor at all and was(like another reviewer said) basically like water. That left me seasoned rice and naan, which I paid almost $ 20 for. Absolutely ridiculous. Avoid this place and maybe they’ll get bought out by a decent indian food place.

Very poor and very slow service. We were the only people in the restaurant and there were at least 3 – 4 wait-staff in the corner standing and talking. I have to ask for everything i.e. no silverware, no water, no napkins. We had masal dosa and it came to our table cold like it was siting there for a while!

Another flash in pan Indian Restaurant. Started with bang but fizzle out faster than soda can… Last visited on Memorial Day weekend… Buffet was almost out but still accepting guest with promise to refill it. They cudnt refill it coz their kitchen was under water, which we realized later. Serious Health issue there like one of reviewer pointed out. Am not going there any more… You do the same.

Food was so so, biriyani was cold gravy is watery and service needs system. We waited for our food long time then half of the food came then the other half. Also building has weird smell, Cleanliness is non existent. Servers were trying hard but look like no management present to control the situation.

Good food but not worth the money for the horrible customer service they have to offer. The restaurant is always empty no matter what time of the day we go to. Over all wait time for our food is around an hour, which is too much in today’s date. They can get more customers easily if they improve their service because the food is still very good, the reason why I’m here every time.

They totally messed up my order for pickup and were incredibly rude about it and refused to correct it so I walked out and ended up having to go somewhere else. I had several guests at home waiting an extra hour for food!

Been there for Dinner Food −2.5÷5 Service — 2.5÷5 Cleanliness — 3⁄5 Ambiance — 3⁄5 Their Dum Biryani’s are«The Best in Town». Their spice level increment will be addition of more ginger garlic paste. We have ordered three curry’s two Non-Veg and one Veg… all of them had the same texture and color. They almost tasted the same. But their Biryani’s are very fresh and very authentic… loved them to the core… they are very hyderabadi!!!

Took over another Indian Restaurant franchise called Paradise. Great Southern Indian food if not better compared to their predecessor. Great selection of different kind of curries which include chicken and goat. All You Can Eat(lunch) for only $ 10 during weekdays. Will definitely be back
