A few girlfriends and I had Sunday brunch here. This was the worst brunch«buffet» I have ever been to. There were 4 «hot» items to choose from. One of which was a cereal bowl of eggs and a plate with 5 pieces of bacon. On a buffet? The other choices were cold chicken and waffles(Greek?) and leftover risotto and pasta. Everything was cold and seemed like leftovers. Nothing fresh. They also had shrimp laid out on ice. Nothing impressive though. The salad area was a bowl of spinach and one kind of dressing. Chocolate cake and some very odd red velvet-like cake. The cakes seemed fresh. Mimosas and Sangria were bottomless. The Sangria was HORRIBLE. I asked if it was homemade or from a bottle. He assured me it was homemade. Terrible! The mimosas were fine. But how can you screw that up?! The atmosphere was lovely. The food was horrible. Only 3 tables were filled the entire 2 hours we were there.(we decided to drink our money’s worth!) I would never recommend this place or go back!

Sunday breakfast buffet is wonderful! Endless mimosas, cheeses, shrimp, oysters and many other tasty foods! Very friendly staff as well. Will be back for dinner! Forgot I had started this review a few months ago… have to change my opinion. 2nd time we went for breakfast buffet was not nearly as good. The same nice, accomodating staff, but the selection this time was sparse. May try it one more time just to be fair… Wish I could give 2.5 stars… split down the middle at this point.

Since the entire format/concept of this restaurant has changed, I guess the positive review I previously posted is completely invalid. I have not revisited since the«re-branding», and based on the reviews that are showing up, I hate to say it, but I’m not sure that I will. Truly disappointing… the original concept was wonderful– except for our very last visit, about one week before«the big change», which was GODAWFUL(everything tasted like leftovers). I’m not sure what kind of problems these folks are having, but I hope they get it all sorted out, somehow. They had a good thing going.

I came to this café for dinner using a Groupon. It was for a buffet style dinner. When we arrived, there was no buffet lines, the waiter informed me that the buffet dinner stopped since the Friday before. He said they had a new chef and they would still honor my Groupon. Sounds great. We ordered the crab cakes for appetizer, my husband ordered the Ahi Tuna and I ordered the Grilled Tilapia. While wating they served us some Feta cheese, Pistaccio and pita bread. It was very tasty. The crab cake came out and it was perfecto … pure crab meat, not the imitation. Delish. Then the main dish came out, we were impressed with the presentation and they tasted wonderful. The portion was big, I could not finish mine. During the dinner, the waiter gave us 2 glasses of champagne, complimentary of the chef. Wonderful touch indeed. They had live Jazz music, very nice. The restaurant is kinda empty — I guess because it’s new, only opened since April. I plan to come back … hopefully with some Groupon special. I would recommend to everyone, you will not be sorry.

thoroughly disappointing visit. several issues with the lunch buffet. this was a month ago FYI –pita was not warm. umm hello? easy fix since it wasn’t even handmade pita. i wasn’t even asking for handmade pita, just warm would be nice –items get refreshed about as fast as the line moved at in-n-out the first day. 2 staffers were just doing refills and if that was taken care of, they were just chit chatting –no music — a little awkward since it wasn’t packed enough to have crowd noise –dessert was BYFAR the highlight, especially the warm items –the gyros were a HUGEHUGE disappointment. first off they were not WARM which was awkward since it has meat in it. plus the gyro meat was NOT the kind you slice off a stick of huge meat but rather the pre sliced perfectly rectangular slices that foodservice vendors sell such as sodexho or aramark. HORRIBLE. they have to fix this because this is the«safe» option for those that don’t like greek food as the other options wont appeal to those that are shy about greek food.(also just to give some context in how low maintenance i am, some of the best gyros ive ever had are at malls. zorbas and fadis blows this place out of the water). –the main entrée options were too limited. they have the potential but they are skimping too much on food costs. service was good but the food was a huge huge let down.

I’ll give it this, the place inside looks fancy, but the quality of food is «meh» at best. My friend had their wedding reherasal dinner here so they had the whole place rented out. This would mean that they had made reservations beforehand and had an ample amount of time to prepare the dishes and food to make sure we all had an enjoyable experience. After a first go around, I was not impressed. The seafood was not fresh, the oyster meat was inside was teeny tiny even though the shell was ginormous. Chicken was dry. They ran out of pita bread. The bride and groom ordered Lamb to be served… which was no where to be found the enitre night. How do you mess that up?! That is too many strikes Mykonos. Too many strikes. Woohoo! They closed!

If this place is still here next year, I would be shocked. My wife wanted to go here because she went at lunch and enjoyed it. I have to believe her lunch was a fluke and I wouldn’t be surprised if when we went at dinner, we were eating the leftovers from lunch. Everything seemed reheated and old. The food lacked overall flavor. As a fan of Greek food, this place was very disappointing. With that said, the atmosphere was nice and the service was above average. One thing that is very easy to get right, is the gyro. This place even screwed that up. Just awful. With so many options in the DFW area, there is no reason to go back to a place that has no interest in the quality of the food. If they took the same care in their food as they did in their décor, they would be fine. Sadly, they don’t. Some of the desserts were decent. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Avoid. I read the reviews here and still tried it anyway since I love greek food, particularly buffets. Some of the food tasted out right spoiled or something. The bread was dry and small, the Moussaka was dry, the stew unflavored, the baba ganoush nasty, and the ‘raw oysters’ were just scary(had to spit it out). I also agree with the reviewers that pointed out the atmosphere was overly posh. It gets two stars instead of one because they did have some good cheeses, smoked salmon, and bread pudding. I tried almost everything there an in the end I had to make a meal out of eating just those three items. If you’re looking for a good greek buffet, drive into Dallas to Greek Café at 635& Preston. _much_better food.

Natalie T. Plano, TX you must have any taste, the food here is fresh and made daily. The menu changes for week to week so its never the same. Every time I’ve been here its always been top shelf food and service. Keep it up Café Mykonos, funny name great food not like the norm. I’ve taken a number of my friends here and we all came away with the same opinion, perfect every time.

Food is only OK. The décor is fancy but that fare doesn’t match. I think some more attention needs to be paid on the kitchen. Since the style of restaurant is buffet, at least at lunch, then the food should be replaced much quicker and more frequently to ensure warm food. If these factors are fixed, I may go back for, the expensively priced lunch.

Great food and hosts. Ramez will keep your entertained. He charmed us with wine and roses for our birthday girls’ night. I was surprised by the variety and quality of the food. Not your typical buffet: salads, shrimp, fillet, gyros, salmon, and more. Desserts were great. Will be back.

Nom, nom, nom, nom. This place is yummy! As a slightly picky eater, I found myself in a whole new world here. EVERY single thing I tried was delicious. There was not one thing that I didn’t like. My sister and I came for Easter brunch and enjoyed the buffett. We were greated by a warm staff and the overall service was fantastic. Our adorable waiter even did magic tricks for us! He was entertaining and really good at them! The chef stopped by the table and chatted for a while, and we never saw the bottom of our mimosas. They were very timely with the refills.(Now that I think about it, maybe that’s how he got us to fall for all of those magic tricks…) Out of all the greek restaurants in Dallas I think this one has the best salads, hummus, lamb, and desserts. I don’t even like fennel, but the fennel soup was delicious(the waiter recommended it, so I decided to try it). I’m excited to head back for Sunday brunch and put myself into another Café Mykonos food coma. It’s totally worth it!

So… Went here since it was a new place and around the corner from the first lunch choice. I hadn’t had Greek food in a while so i was excited… Too bad it wasn’t good. at all First off, it seems a bit too«posh» for what it is. You sit at your table and a guy comes around with a wine cart… we ordered ice tea… We had brunch on a saturday. for 11.99 a person for a brunch buffet, it seemed pretty worth it… There were 3 buffet tables, appetizer bar(dolmas, pita, potato salad, hummus, cucumber salad, etc), lunch bar(greek lasagna, spanikopita, kofta, gryos, seafood bar with oysters and shrimp, and dessert bar(fresh fruit, mini baklava, mini pastries) Most of the food was GAWD awful… the dolmas were about the only thing i liked… the spanikopita had a strange taste, the greek lasanga, my friend had said was pretty bad, the gyros were pretty gross don’t know how you can mess that one up, the kofta was too salty… i generally dont eat seafood outside of my own home, so i cant tell you how that was… To finish it off, the pastries were pretty bad as well… maybe the baklava was ok. All in all i wasn’t impressed… shoulda just had freebirds…

After spending a few days leisurely climbing up and skiing down Mount Everest, I craved some Greek food, so I quickly summoned a few Sherpas to take me to the airport in Nepal and onto my private 747 jumbo jet back to Dallas to try Mykonos Café. I will preface this by saying that I found it humorous that a fellow Unilocaler had indicated that«the babaghanoush had a burnt taste in it — eeeeewwie!» Candidly, that would be like saying, «that cheeseburger had a meaty taste to it – ew!» I must say that proper babaghanoush is supposed to have an ashy taste to it, as part of the ingredients should include charred eggplant skin. Don’t critique a food if you don’t have a concept of it’s ingredients. If you can’t hang with the pro’s, go to Mac Donalds and critique the McRib – geez. That said, let’s continue, shall we? Here are the facts of Café Mykonos: Pro’s: — Smart price point… $ 40 for dinner for two – all-in. — Good Greek food(don’t buy this whole«European» thing… it isn’t European, it’s Greek.(I know that Greece in Europe… but you get the point.) — Lovely concept. it is «buffet» style – though an elegant buffet… with a lovely selection of foods from appetizers to desert. — The service was pleasant — and was handsomely tipped with a few gold bars and a Cuban cigar. — The dessert bar was stellar. Con’s: — They use the term«Grazing» to define the set-up. Cows graze – people should not. Recommend revising this on their menus. — They have«steak fries.» Come on now… Steak fries? If I want steak fries, I’d go to Grandy’s. This wasn’t the best use of one of their buffet items. — Some of the buffet items need a heating element or arrangement to remain warm particularly under a cold a/c’s draft. This would enhance the dining experience and improved the perceived value. For instance their pita bread slices et al. items are on the chilly side – not good.(They got it right with the warm bread pudding though – that’s for sure). — Would recommend having olive oil and vinegar by the salad bar. Any real Mediterranean would agree… come on now. All in all, I was pleased. As a fellow Mediterranean, this would mean«this place is legit.» Mykonos is solid and has the opportunity to continue becoming more solid…

Went here for dinner after reading the reviews. Maybe we went on an off day but it was very expensive for the food we ate. The other thing to point out is that it is not kid friendly when it comes to food. To start with, I had hummus and baba ganoush. The hummus was ok. Nothing great and the eggplant in the baba ganoush was bitter. I then had the village salad which I normally LOVE. Something was off. Then I wasn’t too impressed with the hot entrees. They had moussaka and again the eggplant in it was undercooked and bitter. The scallops with risotto sucked and the roasted turkey was dry. Basically I paid full price for some grilled veggies and cheese. The only reason why I give it 2 stars instead of 1 was the desserts. They were really good.

A few coworkers and I decided to try this place out last week for lunch. It’s located around the corner from Paradise Bakery and just opened a few weeks ago. I wasn’t sure what to expected based on the description of a «grazing bistro» but was pretty satisfied with our experience there. The café itself was very well decorated and stylish; I would certainly feel out of place if I walked in wearing extremely casual attire. There are 3 «stations» in the center — apps, entrees, and desserts — and you can go up as many times as you would like. There were plenty of options, most of which were the«typical» greek dishes that you would see elsewhere with several choices for vegetarians. Overall the food was very fresh and at the appropriate temperature. I can’t speak to the authenticity but it all tasted good. I particularly liked the village salad(with cucumbers and tomatoes), the large assortment of grilled vegetables and fruit, and of course, the baklava. Service was great and they genuinely seemed interested in making sure we had a good time. We had reservations but certainly did not need them as there were only 2 other occupied tables at the time. The café itself is somewhat small though so I anticipate they’ll get quite full once word gets out. My only complaint was the price. Lunch was 11.95 and did not include a beverage, which is high for me especially since I typically do not have alot for lunch. I wouldn’t hesitate to return if it was suggested or for a special occasion, but I don’t think it will make it into the lunch rotation.

Oh WOW! Unbelievable how good this one is! European/Greek Fusion is their tagline but I’d just call it everything chic you ever wanted to try in a buffet. Buffet isn’t a good enough description. Three stations of chef created food, elegantly presented, with a waiter standing in the middle to serve you. They describe it as a Grazing Bistro. Our faves included the very, very nice cheeses, the seared ahi tuna, the shrimp, the village salad(of cucumbers, tomatoes and olives), the artichokes and roasted red pepper, the tenderloin with mint sauce and the entire dessert bar(I’ll start there next time). Special mention on the dessert bar goes to the pots de crème, the floating island, and the mini-trifle – oh my! Something for everyone here as I noted a great selection of vegetarian choices and lots of healthy food for those watching their waistlines too. I was intimidated thinking this would be pricey but we were wowed by the bill too – very reasonable(downright cheap) for such elegant and delicious food. We wandered in unaware, dressed sort of shabbily and realized right away this was a NICE restaurant. But they made us feel welcome and we weren’t the only ones dressed casually. Now before you think I’m the owner’s cousin or something I’ll give you the only negative we noticed. Nice, elegant, quiet restaurant right? It made it even more obnoxious when the wait staff dumped ice in a stainless steel sink or dropped a metal tray – every 10 minutes or so. Need to do a little training on that.

Location opened on April 14th. Today was a nice experience at Café Mykonos. Not know what to expect for our first time during Sunday lunch. The setup is three different buffet stations. Salad/cheese, meats/vegs, and dessert. If your not a big egg person, this limits your selection on the brunch. The salad and cheese area was nice with assorted selections. Also included dried fruits and nuts. Several types of bread and dips. Very European. The owners was checking with every table. Nice touch. Even a harp player. If you like good olde iced tea with your meal, your out of luck. Hibiscus iced tea was your choice. It is worth another visit for an evening meal. The meats selection change for dinner. I will be back to try again.
