Paradise Bakery and Cafe

This place is disgustingly gross. My wife and I went in around 10:15am on a Saturday morning. There were a half dozen guests eating and no guests at the counter, so the café was not busy. About 6 employees working and three on break at the back part of restaurant. We placed our order, and with that came my first indication of how filthy this place is. Our order placard #60 was filthy dirty as was the menus (both of which are washable) then came the challenge of finding a clean table to sit. I literally walked the entire restaurant looking for a table that was clean or chairs that were clean. I settled on the table that was the least dirty. Discusting how the manager lets this restaurant go to crap. Then I noticed the shelf that the food trays sit on was so filthy it appeared to not have been cleaned for a week. Went to get napkins and the napkin holder looked as if someone had vomited on it. Again, the store was not busy. I spoke very frankly of how discussed I was and all employees looked at me as if I just grew a third head. The lady (I assume is the manager as she later departed the store with bank bag) walked all through the virtually empty restaurant, approached the bus cart, grabbed it and wheeled it across the restaurant never once stopping to clean a table or chair. If she will allow her restaurant to be in this condition how well is she keeping up with health standards behind the scenes? If she keeps maintaining the restaurant in this way, she will soon have cockroaches to serve the food to her guests.
If you keep your restaurant like that, how well do you keep your kitchen.
The only bigger disgrace to how this manager keeps this restaurant is the person who promoted this manager to the position.
Sadly, Denny’s is a better alternative!

Consistent and fresh! You can never go wrong if you are looking for a good salad or sandwich.

Horrible experience. Ill trained people. So unpleasant. Do not go here. No music was playing. No bread bowls. Dirty tables everywhere.

Ordered my panini, stood there at the soup section, over the period of about 5 minutes about 10 people walked past me, made eye contact, ignored me. Couldn’t even understand what the first lady said… SOOOO, I left my sandwich number and ticket right about above the soup area, keep it, I’m down the strip a little at the noodle place. They have great phở :) I’ll never be back.

Call the health department! With only 4 tables occupied, crew is so lazy that every booth and 4 tables are filthy. Teenager that brought the bus cart out 20 minutes after I asked was surly. Food was delivered with a big gob of unrecognized food waste substance on the Jam they put on my plate. No sign on management in the building.

Coffee has been awful each time, lattes shouldn’t be that difficult. Service is questionable, they wouldn’t ring me up at the bakery and had me wait in the regular lunch line even though I only had cookies and coffee? The lady behind me ordered the same thing and was skipped straight to the front of the line by the employee. The lady who made my coffee was friendly so I’ll give her that, but one coffee tasted like water while the other tasted burnt.

Well they have waffle on the menu but I guess some days they don’t have waffle mix. I ordered the steel cut oatmeal which was good but barely lukewarm. Nice place but for it to be early food should come it hot right? It’s okay but it’s not horrible, I think it’s more pastry than anything else.

The muffins and cookies are heaven.
It’s a cute little bakery. They have a great, healthy selection of food. The chicken salad is amazing.
I got the mango smoothie. It was refreshing but I wish it was a tad bit sweeter. The straw they serve it with is HUGE!!! uncomfortably huge.
The customer service is always good but they are normally busy until lunch so they have to take your order and then you wait until the cashier is done helping everyone in line to start actually making the orders. The crazy thing about this is there are alway 5 other people helping on the line and I’ve seen heads moving in the kitchen behind the door with the window in it.
The chocolate chip cookies and muffins are bomb!!!

This place has been a disappointment the last few time we have come here. The tea was not fresh. I wanted a salad with chicken salad (Bc I have a gluten issue). My small salad with a scoop of chicken salad was $ 8. Each additional roping other than salad is 0.50 extra. Yes, that means if you want olives, cucumber, tomatoes, or anything else, each item is 0.50! I requested an additional scoop of chicken salad it was $ 2 (see the picture of the $ 2 scoop). My hubby chipotle turkey wrap was alright meaning I probably could have made that at home. We will not be coming back to this place.

This place has the most amazing soups, sandwiches, and salads. I really recommend the chicken orzo soup for the summer. It’s light and refreshing and hits the spot on a rainy day. They always have the most amazing salads too. If you want a side, I’d definitely recommend the pasta salad. It is quite a lot of food, definitely big enough to share!
So, let’s be honest — I order a salad here everytime I come just so I don’t feel guilty for wanting one of their lemon zest cookies. Yes — okay so the only reason I actually come is for their amazing cookies. They’ve got the most amazing selection, but my favorites have been walnut chocolate chip and the lemon zest ones. Definitely a great spot for lunch. Highly recommend it!

Wow! Came in to get lunch. I’ve been sick with sinus issues for a week. Only thing that sounded good was Paradise chicken salad sandwich. The lady who took my money could tell I was sick and comped my lunch. A bad day turned good by this sweet lady. Thank you! Fan for life!

A breakfast and a bakery place needs more items in bakery and to serve breakfast past 10:45. A $ 6 waffle is fast, easy and has lots of profit. The Paradise Caesar’s salad is just a Caesars salad.

My California club was fine, it could’ve used more meat. The sandwiches all come with a cookie, which we were told rudely that we couldn’t substitute for anything else.
We liked the Fuji Apple chicken salad. It was interesting to see them make it in front of us. For the price, the sandwich should have been more remarkable.
We won’t be back.

The food is good. I really like their signature salads.
The checkout line is ridiculous! It was Friday at 12:30 P.M. — prime lunch time. When I tell you that the line was, «Out the door,» I am not exaggerating. There was ONE, yes ONE register open for people to pay. The poor girl was totally flustered trying to count money, give out cookies, hand out drink cups, and bag the «To go» orders. It was a mess.
When we finally sat down, we were appalled at how filthy the restaurant was. There was so much dust and filth on the fans… Disgusting! The cords holding the lights above the waiting tables were covered in filth as well. It was extremely unappetizing when a string of dust fell in to my salad. At that point, I was finished eating.
So here is my question… If this is the part of the restaurant that the patrons are able to see, what in the world does the kitchen /​food prep area looks like???
The health department needs to conduct a review immediately!

This place sucks I called 6 times couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone and I couldn’t leave a message to have a manager call me back I called to let them know that I got food poisoning there and they need to clean their kitchen so I would not recommend ever even there since you can’t get a hold of them and you can’t let them know that they give food poisoning to people

I come here with the fiancé for a quick lunch on the weekdays sometimes, and I always get the asian chicken salad. It’s so tasty and full of protein, and it’s kinda fun to watch them make it in front of me. That said, I haven’t tried anything else besides the cookies. The snickerdoodle was not as chewy as I’d like, but all the other cookies were delish.

This location is a complete mess.
The staff is horrible, and do not pay attention to their customers. Every-​time I come here, which is often, the staff is very slow and rude.
My experience I had today was beyond rude.
I was standing in the bakery line today, and one of the male workers was already helping a mother and her daughter, so like any other customer I waited in line for my turn. Their was 1 other person in front of me at the time, and then a second couple came into the line and were standing in back of me. Once the worker was finished with the mother and the daugher he completely ignored the women in front of me and myself and asked the couple that was behind us what he could help them with. The whole time this was going on the rest of the workers were just standing around doing absolutely nothing.
This location really needs to train their employees properly, because the good customer service is clearly lacking.

This review is strictly reflective of one associate, the young lady working behind the counter ⁴⁄₃₀ night. She was extremely rude and obnoxious and the supervisor Jamela was just as incompetent.

Several weeks after emailing the corp office I did receive a canned response stating that the local regional person would be contacting within 48 hours. After on week, I emailed back informing that no one had contacted me and have yet to get a reply. I guess I should have expected that the poor service bubbled up to the top.

I love this place for their quiche!!! The salads are very yummy (especially Fuji Apple Chicken)!!!
Sandwiches are blah… Mediocre.
Get the quiche & a latte :)

I love Paradise Café, however this location is a total disappointment.
The Story: I’m having a «girl» day with my mom and we decided to grab a bite after a long morning of shopping around.
The Service: We were ignored when we walked in. We were walked passed a few times and even were stared at and not even acknowledge, just horrible. When I approached the workers they helped out.
The Food: Good as always.
Cleanliness: There were roaches near the soup station and that ruined my experience here. The manager looked at them scattering and acted as if nothing happened. Again, just awful!
The Paradise Café I’ll continue to go to is the galleria location on Alpha Road. It’s clean and the employees are polite.
Three stars ONLY because I love the food so much.
