Credit Union of Texas

Yesterday I was on my way to close out ALL of my accounts with CUTX since nobody there knows what the hell is going on. Jennifer Orvis to make a long story short saved the day. She also found that they charged me $ 25 fee for no reason. They keep double dipping my accounts for auto payments. She refunded me the $ 25 and straightened everything out. Bless her heart. God as my witness she is the only person I will talk to now. The rest of CUTX employees seem to be lost even supervisors. My wife and I will stay here as long as Jennifer Orvis is running things. The reviews of this credit union are not good as I have read them. CUTX you guys better get it together.

So many changes and definitely not for the good. The management has changed rapidly for the worst. The old customer service no longer exists. A definite problem for sure. None of the associates smile anymore. The customer is just a number now.

I opened a accout with them, it took 2 hours, way to long. That should have been a red flag for me. I signed up for e-​statements, next thing I know I am getting paper statements and a hole lot more junk mail from them, with a monthly charge on my account. I call and ask why. It seems in that 2 hours the lady forgot to put e-​statements down, got that fixed. Thought all was well. As life has it, I am relocating so I come to close my account. Seems they did that for me two months ago. Why. Because they have been charging me a monthly fee, which I was not told about and it took all that I had in there. DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME WITH THIS BANK, there are much better one’s out there.

I was a member of this credit union for a few years, but decided to close my account and bank elsewhere. In the time I had an account with them, I’ve had unauthorized charges on my account 3 times! They kept insisting it wasn’t just them. but my husband banks elsewhere and has never had an issue. I’ve had no issues with my new credit union either. Their app is so basic, you can’t do much of anything. The customer service is okay… the employees aren’t that friendly, they are so robotic. The plus is that it is never ever crowded. They give you new debit cards same day, which is nice. They recently decided to no longer participate in the shared branching network which was a deal breaker for me. Bye CUTX.

I am new to the Metroplex and I need to get a bank account in the area. I called the customer service line listed on their website and asked several questions. Everything sounded great. I went down to open a checking account.
I arrive and the place is huge. There is a desk unattended in the front. I waited for someone to greet and help me. After several minutes watching employees walking by ignoring me I finally flagged one down for service. I was told I have to talk to a teller.
The tellers are located at the other end of the rotunda. I walked across the building to the tellers area and wait in line to open an account. Finally a teller opens up and I try to talk to the lady but I can’t hear her because of the bulletproof glass.
After talking to the teller I was told everything the Customer service person told me on the phone was wrong. Almost to the point (I can’t prove it) of I think the person boldfaced lied to me! There were so many fees and rules I might as well have went to a bank.
I will never EVER bank with this establishment. If they will lie to you before you ever open account, what will they do to you once you are a member?
