Tired of all the broken credit card readers and bad LCD displays. sonic is useless if the hop has to go inside to run credit cards! My last four visits have been the same bad experience. If this business owner /franchisee can’t make adequate investments to provide the Sonic Drive-in value and experience, perhaps they should consider doing something else. I am DONE with Sonic — all of them. Months of the same garbage. If they don’t care to protect their brand, then who knows what happens in the kitchen — where I can’t see.

We’ve been stopping by here for years for drinks, and honestly, there’s not a lot to say about the location in particular because it’s at least equal to the standards that we’ve come to expect from Sonic restaurants in this area: It’s clean, well lit and the staff is friendly. We only got drinks today, but the order was perfect and served quickly.

It’s fast food, so I don’t expect much, but I do kind of expect their new specials that they push so heavily via print advertising and those awful TV commercials to be at least halfway decent. They’re not. The new cheesebread hot dogs are pretty gross, and all their non-traditional seasonal milk shakes that they now offer for half price after 8pm are definitely worth passing on. However, this location does hold very near and dear to my heart because I’ve been coming here since middle school(back before the days of Unilocal), and for the most part, they’ve done all things right. The stuff that they have on their standard menu is done well — for fast food. Their cheeseburgers, chicken strip sandwiches, corn dogs, chili-cheese dogs, and tater tots are all Sonic staples that they hit right on the nail. Oh, and don’t forget the lemon-berry slush. Crucial lemon berry slush. They do drive pretty sweet promotions though. Even though I railed on their seasonal milkshakes, snagging a vanilla, strawberry, or chocolate one for half-price after 8pm is a pretty sweet deal. Then of course, there’s their famous 2pm-4pm half-price drink happy hour that you really can’t go wrong in. But now they also order $ 0.99 happy hour snacks too! You can choose from onion rings, tater tots, cheese sticks, and fries now, just for $ 0.99! Not bad, Sonic. Not bad at all.

Well the new Garlic Parmesan Hot dogs are gross, but everything else is good for fast food. Sonic has always been the true Ultimate Drink Stop, but their new slush flavors are amazing! The Miami Sunrise tastes just like a Tigers Blood snow cone. The new Blue Raspberry with Nerds is better than I expected, too. This location is really great because although we were two dollars short the car hop told me not to worry that she’d take care of it. Now that treatment makes me a loyal patron.

I pulled a LONGBLACK hair(at least 10 inches) out of my chili cheese fries at this location about 6 weeks ago and got my money back. The manager accused me of trying to get a FREEMEAL! My wife almost got sick when I pulled this nasty hair out of my mouth and she only had two bites out of her burger(she put it back in the bag)!! The manager said he had nobody working that had black hair so I walked into the kitchen and guess what??? Every single one of the employees at this location are either black or Mexican and of course every one of them has black hair. The manager also got in my face and it took A LOT for me not to punch his lights out! There was LOTS of cursing and screaming as well… not one of my better moments but my little girl did get a kick out of it! I called the Sonic complaint number and explained to them what happened. I asked for a district manager to get in touch with me and of course NOBODYEVERDID! I waited 6 weeks just to give them a chance to speak with me before posting this on Unilocal but apparently they could care less. Just like Whataburger, Sonic is NOT the company they use to be… even 5 years ago.

I don’t usually come here often. But once in a great while, I’ll start craving a strawberry lemonade and need a Sonic fix. I usually hope that when it happens, I’m nearby this location because it’s really one of the few I actually like. Service is so quick and everyone is very friendly. My orders have never been messed up. I actually really like how Sonic overall is pretty innovative with their food. Even though it’s fast food, they still appear to make an attempt. One of my favorite items on the menu is the chicken wrap. It’s got chicken, lettuce, tomato, and light ranch dressing drizzled in and wrapped up in a tortilla. Pretty tasty and a much better choice, calorie wise. Their shakes are pretty decent as well. Overall, this location gets a thumbs up.

It’s a drive in restaurant. That’s the only thing it has going for it really. The food has never been spectacular, but it’s gotten noticeably worse in recent years. The onion rings taste like the junk you might get after reheating something from the frozen food aisles in a microwave. The fries are devoid of flavor and dry. The jalapeño cheddars or whatever they are called are revolting. They’re sour peppery things and when you bite into them this horribly yellow, artifical tasting cheese oozes out like a bed ulcer or some diseased pustule. To top it all off everything is a few bucks pricier than most places. Just like the person below said, they do in fact charge for water. The first time this happened some years ago I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The drink menu is okay I guess.

Husband and I wanted a quick sandwich the other day and were passing so thought we would give it a try… nasty burgers… fed them to the dog and she was happy. What in the world do they use for meat at that place? Just scary stuff. If we had gone just a couple of miles out of our way we could have had a real burger at In ‘n’ Out. Too late, too smart. That will never happen again. PLUS they charged for water… who else does that?

I enjoy this Sonic. It is never crowded and they always get my order correct. Yes, I do like variety and my orders and be a bit confusing. But, they get it right every time. That says a lot!

Sonic… you know what they do, and you know what you get here. This one does it right, fast, the first time. Don’t forget the ½ price drinks from 2 – 4 pm!
