I teach Spanish, so I come here to buy«culturally appropriate» candy for my students. I’ve been here probably 8 times. The place doesn’t look particularly clean, and I’d never go here for any reason other than for candy. I’ve never checked out the meat or the dairy that other Unilocalers have mentioned, but yuck! To be quite honest, I have to go to 3 – 4 different Mexican grocery stores to make sure I have a good variety for my students. I might come back here, but the other reviews of this place will definitely have me thinking twice. Why hasn’t the health department done some regulating?

I have been here 3 times. I will not return. Upon entering on 105 degree day I was assaulted with this rotten corpse smell as soon as I entered the store. The smell is rotten«tissue» it comes from unsanitary handling of meat. Let’s be honest… The place reeks and the smell is mostly rotten blood. I will never return. I contacted there corp. office about but they did not return my email. I even added my phone#.

I had a thirst for Apple Fanta, by far the best tasting soda known to man, except the elusive Jolly Rancher Cinnamon Cherry. I was en route to a gathering and thought this would certainly mix well with something(ended up being watermelon vodka FYI). I stopped at El Mariachi Terry’s Super Mercado because, well, there it was. I’m all about multi-cultural grocery stores. My closest grocer is Fiesta on Ross. However, I am NOT all about spoiled food. «Hmmm…look they have some short of grated blue cheese. I didn’t know Kraft made a grated blue… oh, wait. EWWWWWW.» Needless to say it was true throughout the store. I would be afraid to purchase anything here that was not sealed and super sealed in a factory. Canned chili might even be iffy. And then at the register they bumped me ahead of everyone. I’m not sure why. It was awkward, but I got my $ 612-pak of Apple Fanta.
