Dr. Shea is a diva and costs way too much for the poor service and lack of attentiveness. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone wanting professionalism and compassion from a doctor and her staff. So for 323.00 I got a diva with an attitude, a nurse who could not take blood successfully and a staff with a negative attitude and a pitch for a diet program that is sold at this same office. If you care about your health and want quality care, find somewhere else.

This facility was chosen because it seems every other place was booked at least 2 – 3 months out for accepting new patients. After waiting 6-weeks, I waited another 1−½ hour in the waiting room, then another 20 minutes to see the PA in the examining room, then another 20-mins to see Dr. Lakhian. Although the front office was very polite, the long wait was inefficient and disrespectful — my time is valuable and costs money as well. And at the end of the appointment, the visit was useless, a waist of time and money. The level of care is not what was expected for a specialist in this area. The doctor was not able to give a reason for the cause or a specific diagnosis other than removing the dysfunction, surgery because medication side-effects outweighed the benefits. After persistence, I was sent for a Barium swallow and a CT-scan … and I have yet to receive a call or email about the findings — its going on 4-weeks from the testing. Yeah, there has got to be endocrinologists with better level of treatment and respect out there!

The doctors at this location are great, however their process is really outdated. I have Hashimoto’s and my thyroid levels change frequently, which the doctor is well aware of. Twice now I’ve had to wait over a week and half to get bloodwork results back for straightforward thyroid tests(which they draw in-house btw). The first time I had to call several times to follow up so that the doc could determine which dosage of meds I needed to be on — I was told that the doctor had been out of the office for a few days. Apparently no other doctor or nurse could review my labs or provide me the information in the meantime. The second time around, I called three days in a row to follow up, only to be told at the third try that I needed to come in to see the doctor the following week so that she could review labs with me. I explained that I was out of my medication and could not wait that long, and was told that this was standard process.

This is my fourth visit to the office and I’ve seen Dr Lakhian every time. I never feel rushed. Dr Lakhian performed the sonogram on my neck herself. She is very through, friendly and personable. Excellent bedside manner, very patient, she explains each procedure and answers all questions. Dr Lakhian put me at ease and talked to me like a regular person. My appointments have been very thorough and when blood work is done I receive the detailed report in my email a few days later. The nurse staff must be big in this office as I have not had the same nurse twice, however they have all been extremely thorough and have a strict policy and procedure they follow each time. They quickly take vitals and confirm information in a manner that doesn’t feel rushed For the first few visits the front office staff was not very friendly or attentive but the most recent time was a tiny bit better. There is not much interaction with the front desk other than signing in and paper work. The back office however has always been very nice and cheerful. They are quick at collecting your co-payment and scheduling the next appointment. The office always calls to remind of appointment a few days before and leaves clear instructions if you can not make an appointment or need to reschedule. The office building can conveniently be accessed by Preston Park blvd or from the backside off of Ohio. I’m very pleased with this office, and extremely satisfied with the care I have received from Dr. Lakhian.
