If I can rate a 0 I would. I gave this place a second try after a horrible experience last year, however I thought hey I will get a different stylist this time.
First of all, it took me 2 weeks to get an appointment here 2 weeks! I needed my hair done for my trip to Europe, and day of that I had waited to get my hair done when I get there I get told that my stylist (Amber) called off, and there was no one to that can work on my hair. They also told me her earliest appointment was in 2 weeks. Waiting for a month to get your hair done is absolutely ridiculous. Never again.

I got a wonderful cut from Diana but my experience was terrible. I’m somewhat new to the area and looking for a new salon. I called yesterday and scheduled my appointment with a girl who said she was a stylist and not a receptionist. I arrived for a cut and pink highlights and they told me my appointment was cancelled in the system. Diana was fortunately there to fit me in but there was no one to do any coloring and they said they were booked up. They asked me to schedule another appointment but I felt pretty unwanted and out of place so I just left. My salon search continues. :-/

My hairstylist was nice, gave me suggestions, and overall was a good experience. Had a mimosa whole there. Think my total for shampoo, cut, dry (no styling) was $ 75.

Tamera was my colorist and she was great. After initially putting really subtle highlights on my hair, she redid them to make them more obvious. I walked out happy with my hair however my big complaint would be the pricing. For a simple trimming of my hair, I was charged 70 and 185 for the coloring. I initially didn’t want a cut but the way it was explained, as in it being just a trim and a blowout, it would let be much. My total came out to be over 200 and the front desk lady couldn’t explain the break down of the Ccharges. In fact she stated a lesser price and then corrected it after I asked for clarification. I wouldn’t go back mainly because of the high charge, which is more than I’ve ever paid at high end downtown salons in Chicago.

Roman was very patient and thorough with the haircut. He took great care and did not rush through the haircut even though it took more than an hour. He wanted to make sure that I get what i wanted and explored a few different options with me. I had shoulder length hair and wanted a fresh look without cutting it too short. It was certainly not an easy task but Roman did it in a way that somehow retained my length and gave me a new look which i absolutely love! It was an amazing experience! Definitely going back to him again!

I moved to TX in April 2014. I was lucky enough to not only use this as my first hair coloring place in TX, I was assigned Amber as my colorist!
Amber is AMAZING!!! This includes Amber’s knowledge, skills and personality! No matter your mood, Amber is going to make you laugh while making your hair the way you want it. If you don’t know how you want it, Amber will give you suggestions until you find something you like and then make it come true.
I moved almost an hour away but I will never stop using Amber. Absolutely love her!!! Make your appt with Amber and see for yourself. You’ll be happy you did!

I am so glad that I found Jennie at Essensuals! I have long, thick hair and I find it very hard to part with. With Jennie, I do not have to be afraid. She always talks with me for a few minutes beforehand and I can practically be talking gibberish but she always gets it.
Side note: one person has mentioned it before but this place has amazing hair wash stations. Between the fantastic scalp massage and the comfort of those stations, I’m always relieved that I haven’t fallen asleep.
The haircut itself is always amazing. Jennie has talent! She always takes her time and man she is good with the blow dryer. I’m pretty sure I walk out of there unashamedly tossing my hair side to side because I always feel fabulous.
Fantastic, friendly staff, great atmosphere, and cutting edge talent, I am so happy I found this place!

Thank you to kassie, who spent hours and hours on my once blonde/​orange/​blue hair and some how managed to get it to a beautiful brunette without bleach. I was so worried at first and almost in tears when I heard the words ‘muddy’ & ‘green’ but she practically spent all day doing every trick she knew possible to get my hair to a nice even color. The poor girl practically sacrificed her next client to continue on me. The only I don’t think another salon would have put so much care and effort into making sure I felt happy. Thank you!

I am guilty of sporadically dyeing my hair with boxed color, and even worse, doing a patchy job of coloring. I had about 6 shades of brunette and blond, unevenly distributed all over my head, plus several inches of root. I wanted to start lightening my hair and going blonde, and I was very concerned about how to go about fixing my color.
Destiny (colorist) quickly came up with a solution and explained to me how she would fix the color! She did such an amazing job, and even more importantly, explained the process of healthily correcting my color and lightening to blonde over a the course of a few months. She performed quite a miracle on my hair, taking it to a rich brown to evenly cover, with full golden highlights. Destiny has such skill, my highlights look so natural and sun kissed! Perfectly blended and the colors are so complementary, and even two months later, her choice of color and highlight works with my roots. She really is the total package of colorists, not only talented, but SO professional and friendly! Destiny immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable, which made the whole appointment enjoyable. Destiny is now and forever my color guru!
The salon itself is clean, chic, and luxurious. Every person working there is so kind, and hospitable whether or not you are their client! I will absolutely be going back to see my fave colorist Destiny and be treated fabulously!

I have been searching for someone that could understand what I wanted from a haircut and color. Kassie is amazing at color and understands that not everyone wants to be a stripey, highlighted blonde (thank you, Kassie). Jennie gave me the best haircut I have had in a very long time.
The front desk team is friendly and helpful. They make you feel welcome every time you come to the salon.
I even had a hair color I did not like by another stylist and they booked me with someone else to get it fixed. The original stylist is still friendly anytime I see her.

Just had a really great experience here. I am staying at the Marriott and called in (based upon my friendly helpers) to see if it was possible to get in for a quick cut and highlight. The front desk person was extremely helpful and managed to get me in.
The fierce team of Kassie and Claudia fixed me up. They listened to what I wanted and delivered. Claudia’s haircut was exactly the technique I remembered from being a previous Toni and Guy follower. Evidently my ton of fine, baby blonde hair isn’t a problem for this salon!
I may have to figure out how to drive here for a regular fix…

I saw Teresa for color for the first time not too long ago and I am so happy with the results. It’s always been so hard to get my color right since I have such dark hair and my highlights always end up looking super brassy after services, but Teresa saved the day and basically copied the picture that I showed her!
The best part of this all was that I found Teresa on Instagram @teresacolorist — i guess if it wasn’t for the Internet then I would’ve never met her!!! I’m really glad that they do confirmation calls because I forgot when my appointment was too.
Front desk is really helpful from the moment I walk in to the second that I leave. They give me mimosas on the house and the apprentices give great scalp massages when shampooing me! I feel spoiled at this salon. I won’t go anywhere else!

I found Essentuals through a recommendation and Unilocal.I had recently moved to the area and needed a new stylist — and finding a good stylist is probably one of the hardest things to do. Thankfully, I got lucky! It is a little different, in that one person cuts and a different person colors your hair. I went back yesterday afternoon for the second time and wanted to try something different with the color in my hair — I showed a pic of Kate Beckinsales ‘balayage’ hair color and asked Amber to replicate, and I am SO happy! And of course the cut by Judy looks amazing as well! Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new stylist and/​or colorist.

I haven’t had a haircut in years… literally years. So finally I decided to get on Unilocal and check out the reviews and I found this salon. I’m so glad I decided to check them out! Everyone is super nice, the salon is in a great location at the shops, decently priced and best of all my stylist Ashley did exactly what I wanted her to do! I left feeling super happy about the whole experience and I’ll definitely be returning!!!
So glad I finally found a salon/​stylist I can trust!

Beautiful clean salon, great shampoo station (the chairs are actually comfortable!), and great service!
Came in bored of my ombré looking for a dramatic change and saw Amber for full color and Ashley Ray for cut. Both girls were awesome and I love my how my hair turned out. Total came to $ 90 + tip. Not bad! I’ll def be back!
Oh and they have really good coffee (they offer you a drink when you walk in).
