HoneyBaked Ham

After visiting the Preston Road location in Plano this evening, I will NEVER go back, nor refer anyone to Honey Baked Ham again. After anticipating using my rewards birthday coupon all day, I arrived at the store being the only customer there, walked in with a cheerful smile & attitude only to be met with 2 hardened, straight faced employees that peered at me as if I was in the wrong store. I received a pained, muffled greeting by one of them. The other white haired young man with a buzz cut simply glared at me and proceeded to make my sandwich as if he was suddenly being inconvenienced. The manner in which he basically threw my sandwich together (without adding a pickle) and handed it to me was so humiliating that I simply smiled, said thanks so much, enjoy your evening, walked out and trashed the sandwich immediately. I trashed it because I couldn’t be sure that it was safe to ingest since in the middle of making it, he walked off to the back of the store and came back to continue. The clear and obvious disdain for my presence shown to me by the 2 young men immediately made me uncomfortable and pained my soul deeply. After all, I was simply trying to celebrate my birthday. I am a Director of Healthcare Administration at an Urgent Care facility in the neighborhood and I know for sure that providing great customer service is the key to a business’s longevity & reputation. The level of maltreatment and silent shunning that I experienced was one that no customer should ever have to witness in this day and age of 2015. I tried to give warmth and kindness to these guys only to receive what felt like sheer hate. I will suggest to those like myself, who are of a darker hue of color to please, save yourself the trouble of having to mitigate the unnecessary risks associated with this company and their employees’ behavior. No person should be subjected to this type of treatment.

I got a ham for Easter and it was wonderful! My family ate all of it and took the rest home for later. You just go to the counter, tell them how many people you are feeding and they will size it out. The hams are very fresh and cooked to perfection. I am not a ham eater but this place might change my mind. This will be the only place I get my hams from.

This was my first time here and I have to say I was impressed. They had such a huge selection. There are individual lunch options or meals large enough to feed a family. For an 8−10lb honey baked ham it’s only around $ 70! They also have honey baked turkey which tasted amazing. I’m not a huge fan of ribs but they did have pork ribs if that’s your fancy. For sides they have a mix of options from baked beans, potatoes, creamed corn, etc.
I would definitely recommend stopping in here for lunch or dinner. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions you have!
