Madness Games and Comics

Frequent flyer here. I love this place. Old & new comics, toys, t-​shirts, card/​board games, and people who really love their jobs. Don’t be afraid to ask these guys for a comic recommendation. They’ve never disappointed me.

Loved this store! So many games of all kinds! Staff was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. My 11yr old lady be looking around and seeing all of her YouTube dreams realized!

I’m not a local. I’m from Chicago, where most game shops are the size of a closet. So I was just floored by this place. It’s huge, with lots of space to play and the workers are really friendly. If I lived here, I’d be at this place all the time.

I like that they have an open space where people can come hang out and play games. It’s just to bad they have really crappy customer service. They should probably work on that. The way employees treat each customer is really important to me, and they fell way short.

This store is a Geeks Paradise! It’s got just about everything us wondergeeks could want. It’s got lots of Games, and lots of Comics. just like in the name! Hell yea! But there’s lots of other cool stuff too. T-​Shirts! Us geeks have to walk around sporting our geek wear of choice! Like: Batman-​check, Superman-​check, X-​Men-​check, Avengers-​check, Doctor Who-​hell to the f*&k check check check!!! Ok, sorry. There’s action figures (largest Star Wars selection for sale I’ve seen). Lots of those cool Funko Pop dolls (like at least a 100 of them), boboheads, glasses, mugs… you get the picture. I’ve not even touched on games. Half the store is games, their accessories and tons of tables to play them at. The people are truly down to earth. So good to each other… you can be rich, poor or just f*&king indifferent and they’ll be nice to you. The staff is super helpful… I could spend hours in here. I would spend a whole day here gaming if I had the time. I’m a novice D&D player, so I really should spend a day here working on it. We have game night at work all the time, and a lot of the games we play come from here. Just go down, and clear your head… cause it’s gonna blow you away!!!

This is the perfect spot for those times where you don’t want the hustle and bustle of a shopping mall, but still want to walk around and look at some cool stuff. The best time to visit Madness is the weekend nights (Fri and Sat) where they have Magic tournaments and other groups playing random games.
You will always be able to find an empty table to enjoy board games with friends. Or, you can walk around and watch the other groups play games. Some people are so nice that they’ll invite you to join in on their games and take the time to teach you. I love that this place exists because it’s such a friendly place! Oh, and their collection of Funko Pop! is *drool*!!!

Love this place! They have the most amazing collection of board and card games, comics, graphic novels, and fan paraphernalia for many many fandoms. If you are looking for a fun way to spend an evening or just want a geeky new shirt to wear. This is your spot.
They also have a large tabletop gaming area for you to meet with your friends and play your favorite games.

MGC is what (a board gamer’s) dreams are made of!
I can’t speak for the comics since I usually come for the board games, but their game selection is so intense!!! You have the classics like Monopoly and Clue, but you also have the newer games like Settlers of Catan (all the different expansions too!), Betrayal at House on the Hill, Tsuro, etc.
After you purchase the game you’ve been eyeing, you can then mosey on over to the IMMENSE table space in MGC that is open for free game play. Mind you, the staff had told me in my most recent visit that you can even bring your own personal games to play (and food if you’re responsible and clean up after yourself!).
Certain nights are devoted to Magic the Gathering or Dungeons and Dragons (check their events calendar!), but if there’s free table space, you’re still welcome to play your own games. The late midnight closing on Fridays and Saturdays make this an ideal game night locale as well.
On a final note, don’t be intimidated if you see people playing crazy games that involve 3D fortresses and little armies. Madness is so down-​to-​earth, and it’s really about bringing together a community through games and comics. If you’re into board games, I can’t recommend MGC highly enough.

I was introduced to Madness comics today and being that it was my FIRST TIME visiting, I am upset. I rarely ever compose a review on Unilocal,but this place commands for one. I was treated like I was a level 90 thief in one of their fantasies. I was followed through out the store and wasn’t given any space to shop, talk about a huge aggro radius. The employees created a tense shopping environment because they followed me like I was some treasure goblin about to drop epics loots hiding in my pockets. They was so obvious in the act I felt disgusted with this place I left without a purchase. R.I.P MLK

What?! What?! What is this place and why doesn’t it exist in every city?!
This is the ultimate Mecca for Nerds, Geeks, Gaming Minds, and Comic Readers from all over the world. Rows and rows of comics line a quarter of the store while every board game you can think of (and not think of because they have about a hundred more you never heard of) and little knick knacks (a bobblehead of Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite. I’m geeking out just thinking about it right now) cover another quarter of the place. The other half of the store is literally chairs and game tables. Whaatttt…
I didn’t end up buying anything, but being there was just an experience in and of itself. There were about five employees that asked me if I needed something, in a kind and super friendly way, like ‘you are sharing in a special part of my life right now and I want you to be happy because this is a happy place’. I’ve never seen so many people be genuinely happy with their job all at once.
One woman approached me and asked if she could help me.
«I’m just looking right now…»
«Well, what are you interested in?»
«Uhhh… I don’t know?»
«You don’t know?!»
«No???»
She gave me a sideways glance, told me to ask her if I needed anything, and took off. It left me in a small fit of giggles. Which could have been induced by the conversation but also about how amazing the environment was.
If you’re looking for new comic ideas or to pick up a random board game or card game, this is the place to go. As I also previously mentioned, they have little bobbleheads and different figurines to add to your collection. Star Wars, Star Trek, you name it. If it belongs in other galaxies, they probably have it here.

Absolutely one of the best comic and game shops in DFW. It’s a huge store and has so much that you can most definitely find anything you need. My friends and I play DnD and so when it came time for Christmas gifts, I knew where to go. Their dice selection is crazy, and they also have other things like books and spell/​skill cards readily available.
The staff is also on point and unlike a lot of retail places, they staff appropriately! You can always find someone to help you find what you need, and that’s great. If you’re not sure what to buy your friend, they also do gift certificates which an employee hand fills out and signs for you. It’s great!

Very friendly and helpful staff. I live about 40 minutes away from this location but I am always willing to make the drive due to the great selection of games, comics, and MTG cards and accessories.

Huge selection of boardgames and super friendly knowledgable employees for the most part. If I want to know something, they either help or know exactly who to send over to help. The other day I got Smallworld expansion and it was missing a sheet of tokens. A young guy in a Zelda shirt had a new copy in my hands within a minute! No hassle at all. Love this place and try to go there at least every other weekend.
Why not 5 stars? There is a young blonde female employee there who is always very stuck up and rude. I wish I knew her name so I could send a formal complaint. I’ve never met her before going there but I once asked for an application and she was so freaking rude about it.
She first said they weren’t hiring and I asked if I could just leave it for the manager in case they need someone later. Instead of saying «ok» like she should have, she looked me up and down and said «It doesn’t seem like you would want to work here.» BITCH WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? I was headed back from an interview so I was wearing a skirt and nice blouse but I didn’t have «President of the Comic Book Hating Club» written across my shirt. It was rude of her to comment on it anyway, that’s not her job.
Anyway whenever I go to check out now if she’s at the register, she calls someone else over while I’m in line. Silly and petty. Other than her this store deserves 5 stars!

Madness is almost definitely the largest game store in DFW. It’s a mecca for all things related to games. (I believe they also have a comics section, but I just don’t head over to that side of the store.)
This is the kind of game store that I drive out of my way for. They have such a wide selection that the drive is worth it. (If I’m looking for something in particular, I’ll call ahead and check. (If something is out of stock at the distributor level, there’s a good chance it will be here. If it’s something that’s out of print, there’s enough traffic at this store that you probably won’t find it here.)
But Madness’ selection is phenomenal. I’ve needed to ask for help in finding stuff sometimes, though, because there’s so much stuff. The store is organized by game mechanic, theme, and genre, and because games can have many variations of all of these, this can make things kind of confusing. But, when you find something you like, it’s good for discovering other games that you may not have known about – just look around what you like and avoid the sections that you don’t like.
The only setback of Madness is that they don’t have a «frequent buyer» program. (Most game stores in DFW have a «buy ten get one free» program. However, they will occasionally have some fantastic sales that can make up for this. (Example — I went this week, and they had a «buy two, get one free» sale for the holidays.)
Great store, though, and definitely worth a detour.

This is by far the nerdiest place i’ve been to. It’s also pretty awesome. I’ve never seen so many people packed into this place playing games and such.
It’s pretty awesome and fun at the same time. I could see if they served food this place would mean that nerds would never leave this place.

I came here to pick up a game for a Christmas gift and was not expecting a store as huge as this! I am convinced that they can meet all your gaming needs here. They have tons of tables for game tournaments and there were a good amount of people playing casually when I was perusing the store. They also sell lots of fan t-​shirts, collectable figurines, and stuffed animals. The staff is super helpful and friendly as well. I would definitely recommend this place for any kind of game fan!

In my time in Texas, this store took the cake as being the supreme ruler of all things nerd. I loved Madness Comics enough to make the nearly hour-​long trip on a few different occasions. They’ve moved to a spacey new location with tons and tons of items to peruse. I could spend hours and hours just looking over the games.
As is the trend, Friday Night Magic… er… anytime Magic really reigns over everything else. I am a little biased as I often find there to be so many other options aside from this expensive juggernaut. This is one reason why I believe Madness Comics really goes into a higher category: they have options and events beyond just Magic. They also have occasional deals and sales as well as some solidly competitively priced goods for a brick and mortar store.
If you live in the DFW area, there’s no reason not to visit.
If you live in the Plano area… what are you waiting for!!!

This is, in fact, Madness!
Unlike Sparta, you will be hard-​pressed to find muscular, partially clothed men around, however you will still find many (stereotypical ‘geeky’) guys hangin’ around every night.
I fit right in!
Now, they are a store, that happens to sell games & comics. In that aspect, they are impressive, with a huge selection of Western comics & games/​miniatures/​cards as well as a vast selection of Magic The Gathering Cards for individual sale. However, that still isn’t their main attraction.
‘Tis all about gaming!
Half of this (massive) store is set up with tables for various games, whether it is Trading Card Games (Magic The Gathering), Roleplaying Games (Dungeons & Dragons), miniature games (Warhammer, X-​wing) or board games.
They host ‘Friday Night Magic’ here for those involved. There are board games on Saturdays from 4-​late. X-​wing is played Tuesdays & Saturdays. Warhammer & RPGs seem to be played daily. I am certain other games are played other days of the week, I just haven’t been made aware of them yet, but this place really is hoppin’ nightly.

I love how big and spacious their new location is! It’s so lively when there are tournaments here. I’m not a hardcore comics or board game person, but I do enjoy coming here to browse around and/​or pick up some stuff. And their staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and conversational. They never look down on those who are just starting out or even those who are not at all familiar with comics/​board games.
There’s also the cutest little dog there that roams around freely!
