Modia(their old Knox Store) was my first experience with high end audio and was the launching pad for my ongoing audiophile obsession. While I’ve been dealing with second hand equipment over the years since, I was in the market for something new and of course had to come back to Modia not only to give credit where it was long since overdue but because I had always had great experiences coming in, even when they knew I wasn’t ready to buy anything. I’ve been to many a competing audio store and I cannot remark enough on how much better the business design is and the difference in staff with regard to both knowledge and attitude. Ben, the manager at the Plano store, took such good care of us, was incredibly easy to talk to and didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need. I can’t recommend this company or Ben enough and they have definitely got a customer for life.

We recently built a new home and went to Modia in Plano to compare prices on all new home theater, home automation, and audio/video equipment. The builder also recommended another company who designed and submitted a bid to us for the same items. When we got their bid, we couldn’t believe the price and had resigned ourselves to having to wait and do it in installments instead of all at once. We met with Kyle at Modia and he did an excellent job explaining and demonstrating the sound equipment as well as going through the home automation they offer and we decided to go ahead and get a bid from him. We left him with our current proposal and he called back a few days later to set up an appointment to review their estimate. Kyle did a great job explaining the differences between Modia’s proposal versus the other one and showed us what EXACTLY we were getting. The other company only sent us a bid and NEVER took the time to discuss it in detail, explaining what every item was and why we needed it. Kyle was able to design a far superior system and the cost was less than HALF of what the other company gave us. He had the opportunity to take advantage of our lack of knowledge on several components and try and sell us something we didn’t need, and he didn’t do that at all. He was never pushy and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable with them and what we were buying. We scheduled the install over a three day period a week before Christmas, and our installers Rob and Jason, were prompt and worked all day and into the evening during the holidays to make sure everything was installed and ready for use during the holidays. We had a few technical glitches, but Rob and Kyle communicated with us through text and phone calls to help us work through them and Rob even came over on New Year’s Day and worked most of the afternoon on these glitches. Scott, the Project Manager with Modia, also came in to help with the home automation installation and programming and was instrumental in helping us work through some wifi issues and small technical issues and helped us fine tune our system. The entire team at Modia has been nothing but helpful, responsive, and professional. We plan to use them in the spring to install our outdoor kitchen/pool sound equipment and for anything else we decide to do with our home theater equipment. We will recommend them to all of our friends and family as well.

I have spent around $ 20K here over the last few years and I highly recommend them. Ben Graham is the best! I keep coming back to them because they keep taking care of me and they stand behind their work. I had a pretty complex install and they have been out a few times at no extra charge way after the install date, with no questions asked. Ben is the best!

We recently purchased a new TV from Modia in Plano after spending quite a bit of time on the phone with Ben Graham asking his advice and recommendations(we live 80 miles from Plano). He was knowledgable and very patient with all our many questions. Once purchased, we needed someone to not only install the 75″ Samsung UHD but to re-install all of our McIntosh equipment and a Sony Entertainment Center(purchased from Modia at an earlier date). Ben coordinated our rather complicated needs and sent Robert and his assistant(who was in his first week with Modia) to our home. They were on time, despite the remoteness of our location, and were able to install/reinstall our system into a new cabinet with no complications. They also set up an Apple Express and Apple TV so that we’re finally able to stream from the Internet. Additionally, they reprogrammed our universal remote so that all features of our system are easily accessible. What could have been a very stressful install went off without a hitch. Ben, Robert, and everyone at Modia were responsive and professional throughout the purchase and install. We can’t thank them enough!

There are a few times in life when someone stands behind their brand and offers superior customer service. Ben Graham is such a man. Ben is the new manager at the Modia Plano/Southlake stores. Ben patiently took over the AVR installation even though it was purchased months before he took over managing the Modia stores. He called in IT help and with Kyle’s expertise replaced the poorly designed AVWL300 Pioneer dongle with the superior Apple Airplay Express. I now have streaming internet, I can play Pandora, and the WiFi signal is strong. This service is why I bought the AVR system at Modia and not at a big box store. Thank-you Modia!

I recently went to Modia, Plano store and the service was excellent. I am pretty happy with my B&W Home Theatre audio system and am really excited to watch a good action movie tonight. Worked with Billy and his inputs are so good and it helped me a lot to decide on this. He showed me different options with price points and I would recommend this store to anybody, who is looking for setting up a home theatre with some premium audio systems.

We recently worked with Modia in Plano to update the music system in our home. We were very impressed with both the employees and the experience. Since we had no idea what we wanted, the manager, Ben, as well as several of his employees, provided us with an extensive overview of all available options. They then spent time determining the best system for us personally and for our home. Not only is the system fabulous, but also, we have received prompt and very helpful customer service each and every time we have called with questions since the installation. Purchased an $ 8,000 media room setup from Modia. My installers were awesome. I couldn’t have been more pleased with their knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail. Scott, who oversees installations for the store is extremely responsive. He goes over the installation, timeline and process to help level set expectations. We had a little snag during the project and the management in the store was responsive and helpful in communicating and resolving the issue. Overall, pleased with Modia.

I recently bought something from Modia Plano and I must say that they go above and beyond on customer service! Although they were given inaccurate information from their supplier about inventory, they were willing to work with me on delivering my unit at my convenience since I was in the middle of moving and they had guaranteed a delivery date. They ended up even offering some compensation for the inconvenience! In the end I had to wait about 2 months for my unit to arrive, but all along, the systems engineer(Sean) was always courteous and prompt with any inquiry and correspondence with me. He was knowledgeable and willing to work with me to do whatever it took to deliver the best quality service given the situation.

I agree with the other reviewer that customer service here is pretty terrible. My wife and I are looking to furnish our family room and media room with equipment since our house is almost finished being built. We are looking for a good deal but willing to spend quite a bit for quality. The owner and sales guy both were wondering why we needed to do research on the suggested products that they offered to us as if researching products is something not normally done. This just makes me wonder if the products they are pushing are inferior or inflated in price. Maybe consumers that walk in the door are usually well educated on products and already know what to buy… but for others, like myself, I would like to see what my options are and become well informed. They also tried other sales tactics like: «oh, this product is limited in quantity and it’s flying off shelf so you have to buy now» and they couldn’t explain to us why one model is better than the next. I rather take my money and spend it elsewhere with exceptional customer service.

Have you ever had a Pretty Woman shopping experience??? …and not the fun one, but the one where you want to yell«I got money to spend in here!» We were assaulted with questioning today(by a man who didn’t even get up from the desk) about our home theater that is in the process of being finished(we close in February, and NEED to get some stuff ordered). He even had the audacity to «finger quote» what we meant by «pre-wired»! We were then told: «Walk around, I will talk with you when I’m done with what I am doing.» We did begin to walk around, only to find EVERYTHING is behind locked doors. After another couple came in and received help from someone else we left. Someone(outside smoking) overheard us & finally said that he could help us! The kiddos were already being placed back into the car!!! ~ Guess they already had their commission for the month! They definitely did NOT receive ours!!! And to think we had money to spend in there… LMAO(only to think about what they missed out on)!!!
