The food is pretty good — I’ve had the kobe burger and short ribs. However, service was notably slow and unimpressive. I’ve heard from my family that the Dallas location is better, though, and now that the Plano location is closed, I might go over and give NOSH Dallas a try.

Both visits to the Plano location have been outstanding. Food is excellent — highly recommend trying the Big Fish. Each visit, we’ve been seated at kitchen stadium and been attended to with helpful, friendly, and knowledgable waiters. Both times, the chef and kitchen staff have chatted with us and even given us recommendations on what to order that day.

I went to this restaurant to celebrate a friend’s promotion at work. I thought it would be a nice place to eat and had heard good things about it. As soon as we arrived, I noticed that the restaurant smelled like rest room cleaning products and not like delicious food. Honestly, I’d rather smell the bar well than toilet cleaning products when I walk into a restaurant. But we were already there so we sat down. We ordered a couple appetizers which were small but expensive. They were ok but honestly, I felt that they could easily have been made in my kitchen. Nothing too impressive. I ordered the meatloaf because the waitress said it was her favorite meal. It was nothing special once it arrived. A little dry but decently seasoned. My friend ordered the short ribs and he said they were good. Another friend ordered chicken and she said she could have made it herself. We also had dessert but again, I wasn’t impressed. I would say that the strangest thing about the meal was the waitress. She was clearly from Texas… told us her daughter was going to Texas A&M… bla bla bla… but she would switch from a Texas accent to a British accent. it was incredibly weird. She also jumped into our conversation at times because she seemed to have nothing else to do. Also, the wait staff must be incredibly bored because you drink one sip of water and they are refilling the glass. You cannot have a decent conversation unless you are good at ignoring people around you. They are constantly in your business like a fly that won’t leave. Very distracting and unwanted attention…

We had a difficult time getting waited on. Once we got a waiter, he was good(except that he greeted us with«What’s up.» I thought that was a bit too familiar). Specialty cocktails were not good. Martini was good. Meatball appetizer was bland, spinach or artichoke dip or whatever it was supposed to be was too salty. Beet salad was good. It was okay, but I won’t go back.

The food was very good. I really enjoyed the beet salad. One thing was a bit weird though… my husband drinks a LOT of soda and the waiter told him that normally he would be charged for refills because he drank so much, but they would let him slide this time. ???

This was a real pleasant surprise! I was looking on Open Table for something near our daughter on a Sat night and Nosh popped up. I was so surprise to find something so great in Plano in a strip shopping center. We usually have to go closer to downtown to find a place like this. The atmosphere was warm and trendy. Loved it! I ordered the Mix Grill and it was fabulous. My daughter had the short ribs, which were delish. We loved the cauliflower mash. Everyone loved their meals. The waiter was outstanding providing excellent customer service. He was very versed in the wines and helped my husband select the right red for his taste. The night was a real delight. We will definitely make this one or our regular places. I really loved it.

Ehh. I give them 6 mos tops. Food OK, but affected. That Brickhouse joint across the street has better food, is more fun and markedly less pricey.

Great food, great service. We had a nice time at Nosh. Notice that there is no salt or pepper on the table — that fact made me very hopeful that we were in for a treat. Started with Kobe Meatballs and Egyptian Falafel(Presentation! Flavor!) Great starters. Chilean Sea Bass and Mixed Grill were the Dinner Specials that we chose and both dishes were spot on. Cheese Grits with the Mixed Grill were delicious. A side of Parmesan Frites(very healthy portion) and we were stuffed and happy. Highly suggest you check out Nosh.

We have been here twice. Overall, not vegetarian friendly. Expensive. Servers have attitude. Food is average. I had the hummus appetizer — I think I would have done better going around the corner to Trader Joes. I had a heirloom salad with mozzarella which had some really weird green thing which I think was artichoke. The tomatoes doe not taste special. Not sure we will go back here.

EXCELLENTSERVICE!!! I don’t think they left my water cup empty once… ESP my husbands cup since he likes to drink water like he’s never had water in his life. Our server this wonderful lady(forget her name) knew all this details to the food and told us several times she watched the chefs make it! That is super cool, most waiters are like… um um um, lemme go to back and ask. ANYWAY~ FIRSTCOURSE We began with the Artisanal Cheeses, black mission fig confiture & crostinis. The dish came on a nice wooden platter, with EVOO toasted crostinis and they were very generous with the mission fig confiture! YUMMY. CHEESES: Manchego cheese, it was flavorful but not as sharp as the imported Spanish ones I am used to buying from Central Market. Caprino — Italian goat cheese. It was sharp and lovely. BANG in your face kind of cheese! I love it when cheese speak to me cheese. French Brie — Creamy and lovely. Seriously, brie is always good. Warning: Too much fig could block out the flavors of the cheese. So make sure you taste the cheese first before you slather that yummy fig goodness on. MAIN My husband ordered: Nosh Stacked Kobe Burger house ground ½ pound, cheddars, full accoutrement & frites Honestly, this was a little salty for our taste — but we are super sensitive to salt. so it can be fine for someone else Hubby ordered it medium well which they did a wonderful job executing. The meat was lean and moist. The sesame bun was toasted to perfection. The fries were thin and sprinkled with sea salt & herbs. The house dipping sauce was VERY unique and good. There was something, sweet, sour and citrusy all at the same time. Me: Crispy Spiced Duck Confit whipped cheddar potatoes & red grapes DUCKWASCRISPY!!! I love it when the skin of the duck is crispy. There is nothing worse than eating a dried duck… since it’s supposed to be juice from all that dark meat. NOSH executed it so well I thought the meat was VERY flavorful. It came in a balsamic type sauce and the grapes were cooked. Brought a slight sweetness to the duck! The main course dishes were generous and I really enjoyed every bite! DESSERT Warm Chocolate Soufflé Cake smore ice cream Apparently, the croissant bread pudding is the house popular dish but I make a MEAN croissant bread pudding at home so we decided on something I am not good at making… a soufflé! The cake was slightly gooey in the middle(as it should be), the chocolate was rich and you could taste the quality of the cacao. What was unique about this dish was that the outside of the cake was slightly crunchy. We later found out that the dessert chef puts sugar on the outside coating before baking. It added a very fine texture! The ice cream was perfect — graham crackers, toasted marshmallows and chocolate chunks. SO scrumptious. I wouldn’t give it a 5 just because it was a tad salty for our personal taste but I think anyone would enjoy this Euro Bistro! I would go back ~ ps — They have HH and ½ priced appetizers at the bar.

Wow… these reviews are all over the place, aren’t they? I can understand why… I’ve been here twice and even my own review will be all over the place. I’ve been to Nosh on Oak Lawn and I immediately fell in love with it! Imagine how excited I was to have them open so much closer to home and work! I came here on the whim without reservations one Friday evening. Although their dining area was full, they were still able to seat us in the bar area which I actually preferred because it was cozier with round tables versus square tables yet still large enough for 2 to dine on. I started with the French Fizz which includes Hangar One blueberry, elderflower, Champagne. I really enjoyed that. Very girly — just like me! For my appetizer, I had the Red & Yellow Beet Salad which includes goat cheese, pecans & raspberry vinaigrette. I loved this but there was a tad too much dressing for me so next time I will definitely request the dressing on the side. But all the ingredients complimented each other very well. For my entrée, I had the Seared Ahi Tuna which comes with asparagus, tomato & white truffle cucumber gazpacho. OMG love! Everything tasted so fresh. Fish was perfect. Our waiter was also very attentive. It was an overall delightful experience. So why the 3 stars? It was because of the second visit I had there. This time, I did have reservations. My friend and I started with the Kobe Meatballs with short rib jus & béarnaise & Escargot Persillade«Classic» with toasted bread. My friend who is an avid cook indicated the meatballs were not made fully from kobe meat and probably combined it with other meats. I agree with him but I still enjoyed the meatballs! I also enjoyed the escargot but it could’ve used a little more salt… and that’s a lot coming from me because I HATE salty foods! I had the Pan Roasted Native Chicken with pomme frites & parsley butter and my friend had the Crispy Spiced Duck Confit with brussels sprouts, whipped potatoes & red grapes. We also got a side of the Big Kid Truffle Mac. Yes, I know my chicken came with butter but it was just too greasy for me. It was ok. I finished my food but I wasn’t impressed. The pomme frites were nice and crispy but how can you mess those up? Duck Confit was nice. I liked it better than my chicken. I highly recommend not getting the truffle Big Kid Truffle Mac. It was just mush! Definitely no texture. Bleh… Finished our meal with Banana Bread Pudding which they use croissants and serve with vanilla ice cream & rum caramel. I’m sorry but I did not enjoy this at all! It was wayyyyyyyyy too sweet! I can’t believe I’m saying this because I have one of the biggest sweet tooths ever! So yes, I had a bad second visit but I know they can make good food so when I come back, I’ll stick to what I know or not order what I ordered last time.

I had a great experience, great fois gras. I wouldn’t recommend the crab with mushroom appetizer but scallops were great and try the french fries and the truffle mac. delicious.

I came here with my parents and some family friends for lunch. The menu looked great and we all had a hard time deciding what to get. We got an appetizer of Maine Lobster Fritters that were absolutely delicious. I got the Crispy Spiced Duck Confit for my main course and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a little worried that the portions would be tiny like at so many upper scale restaurants but the portions were perfect meal size servings. We had an Apple Tart for desert that capped the meal perfectly. Nosh is a great restaurant that offers some amazing food options at a reasonable price. We got out of there for around $ 25 a person, without alcohol. Nosh would make a great date spot or nice evening out option.

So the food quality is around 4 stars(excluding any thought, positive or negative, towards the price); however, the service this time was atrocious and actually affected the quality of our meal. Drinks: My mom asked for a specific kind of liquor in her drink. They didn’t have it, which is fine, but they didn’t tell her either. They simply made the drink with a different liquor and gave it to her. And she wouldn’t have had to confirm her suspicions except the second time they made it it was done so poorly that she had to go up to the bar to have them remake it. I asked for a Maker’s and Coke-they DIDN’T USE Maker’s Mark. I drink enough Maker’s to notice the difference. And the waiter acted confidently when I asked if it was Maker’s…I CANTELLTHEDIFFERENCE. They fixed it and it actually was(and tasted like) Maker’s after that. Food: My mom and I both ordered beef medallions. They were tasty. I prefer medium rare and my mom prefers medium. They screwed up giving us the plates-the guy even said medium and medium rare and they were most certainly switched. And my mom’s turned out pretty much medium rare anyway. Finally, they undercooked my dad’s fish. While how much one cook’s fish can be a preference, the fish would have been objectively better had they cooked it at least a couple more minutes. Lots of potential. Had a decent first experience. Then all of the sloppiness seen in other reviews came out in the second experience.

Tried it for father’s day dinner. Staff was very friendly and our server, Andrew, was attentive and knowledgeable. Our appetizers, Tempura fried Brussels sprouts leaves and bacon wrapped scallop with shrimp and cheddar grits, were delicious. Loved that the sprouts were nice and crisp, but not covered in too much batter and still had all their flavor. Our main dishes, pan-seared halibut and pork porterhouse were both great, too. The fish was nicely seared on the outside, but nice and tender, flaking easily at the touch of the fork. It was accompanied by spinach and pears in a white wine broth, which was a different flavor than I’m used to, but it worked. The porterhouse was perfectly grilled to our wishes and the bacon and Brussels sprouts purée was creamy and delicious. Unfortunately at that point our one year old got fussy, so we had to skip dessert. We were very happy with the experience and will definitely back. Due to the higher price range it’ll be more of a special occasions place than a regular restaurant for us though.

Had lunch at Nosh with two business associates on Wed., 5⁄30. I would give the food mixed reviews. The service was very good and the décor was pleasant. I especially enjoyed the escargot appetizer. The portion was generous(12) and the seasoning was flawless. The Arctic Char salad was okay. It was good but not something I would order again. For dessert I had roasted banana ice cream. Not sure the banana flavor came through as the chef had intended. The ice cream needed a tad of vanilla and/or cinnamon to pull through the banana flavor. Something was wrong. I may give Nosh another try as it is across the street from my office when I am in Plano.

Tried this place for Mother’s Day brunch. When we walked in we were immediately asked if we had a reservation, without even a hello. We were then informed that it was a fixed menu since it was Mother’s Day at it was $ 50 per person. They didn’t have a wait so we decided to try it. Big mistake. Included in the price was a starter, entrée, and dessert. i was pretty hungry so I was disappointed in the size of the portions. I chose the gazpacho to start and while it was good, it was a tiny portion. The other choices looked larger and more substantial so I was a little mad that I got a tiny cup of soup while others got four large meatballs. Then our entrees came, which were larger portions, but my fish was very very fishy. I love fish so the fact that I even noticed this says a lot. Mostly, I was disappointed about dessert. On the menu, it seemed like each individual gets a tasting of 4 little desserts(and I mean little), but when our waiter dropped off desserts he only dropped off two plates for three people at our table. The table next to us had four people and also only got two dessert plates. For $ 50 a person I wanted my own plate. Our entire meal felt like we were being nickel and dimed. My meal was definitely not worth $ 50. I suppose it would have been different had to food been so amazing I didn’t notice the price, but all I was thinking when dessert came was that I didn’t get my money’s worth on portions or quality. And to top it off, they don’t give free refills on soda!!! I guess this really is a «european» bistro, because Europe is the only other place I’ve ever been that doesn’t have free refills. Perhaps the regular menu is a better value, but the food didn’t impress me either. I would definitely warn agains a prefixed menu option. Will not return.

I have mixed opinions on this place. I will probably go back again but it was not a perfect experience. We went there on a spur of the moment and they were easily able to seat us. The wait staff was prompt and attentive but took way too long explaining the specials. He seemed to go on and on in excruciating detail that was just too much. My wife and I each got an appetizer and a main. Tempura brussel sprouts with a light mustard sauce. Excellent and perfectly done. I highly recommend these. Rock-shrimp or rock-lobster(I don’t remember which) fritters and lime chili sauce. There were small, quarter sized dollops of batter with the seafood mixed in. When they came to the table they looked like popcorn shrimp and that was some of the problem. Once you see those nuggets you think there are going to be big pieces of shrimp/lo bster in there. There weren’t. Also we both felt that these were underdone. They were too moist on the inside. When we told this to the waiter we were informed that’s the way they are intended to be. They are fighting a perception here in that people expect fritters to be completely cooked. These were not. We will probably not get these again and I can’t recommend them. On special that evening was English Pea Risotto with Asparagus. Excellent. The rice was cooked perfectly and the taste, while mild, was very fresh. Last was the espresso braised beef short ribs. The sauce was great. I’m going to have to figure out how to do this. However the meat had a problem. There were 2 pieces. One was enough but that wasn’t the problem. Short ribs need to be braised a long time to achieve perfect tenderness. Of the 2 piece one was almost there. It was early in the service so an hour later it would have been perfect. The other piece was way underdone. To add insult to injury the top of it appeared to have been cooked above the braising liquid. it was tough and dried out. This dish has potential but the execution left something to be desired. All in all it was OK. There may have been growing pains from the newness that I’m sure can be worked out. I’m sure we will go back. An update. We went again on 28-Dec-2012 and Everything was great. All of the previous defects had been addressed. Maybe it was because chef Samual was in the kitchen. The service was impecible and all of the dishes(Lamb sausage appetizer, wedge salad, scallops, Lamb mixed grill, cauliflower mash) were great. I recommend ths place for an upscale casual dinner anytime.

Food was fabulous and service even better. Our server was very knowledgeable about the food and the history of the restaurant. I had the roasted beet salad(delicious and plenty), and the Kobe beef meat balls… delicious too. Everything taken to the tables looked great as well. The prices are a bit steep for lunch, but worth it.
