Tried this for the first time the other day. The chicken tenders were great! The fries were pretty good too.

I definitely like this place a lot as their chicken always seems fresh and not so greasy. I ordered the grilled chicken cobb salad to go, and the portion was pretty huge. The chicken was grilled and seasoned really well, and they packed the to-go container up. Their sandwiches are pretty good, and in my opinion, they taste much better than some of the other chicken chains around the metroplex. Service is always good, and prices are decent. I will definitely come back.

Good service and dipping sauce but the food quality is not good. Canes is muuuuch better.

I’ve noticed that there is no shortage of chicken chains in the Dallas metro area. Challenge accepted. PDQ is very clean and is well appointed with tables of varying sizes, TVs, and Coke Freestyle machines. Since you asked: I got grilled tenders, fries, and vanilla Coke. The tenders were nicely grilled and still moist inside. I came to regret my sauce choice of sweet sriracha. It just didn’t do it for me and it was more creamy than spicy. I have to give them credit for the fries, they were excellently fried and seasoned.

Canes v. PDQ That’s a hard call. I’ll have to revisit both for a side-by-side comparison. What I can say from what I recall is that Canes felt more like a hole-in-a-wall chicken join(despite being a chain) and PDQ appeared more fresh and healthy(despite being a fried chicken place). Most be the color scheme. I remember Cane’s being crispier and oilier. I remember leaving feeling a thin layer of grease. On the other hand, PDQ had lighter batter and even grilled chicken tender options(skip). Why skip? If you’re already here for chicken tenders and fries, go all in and get it fried. The grilled chicken feels like you’ve been cheated out of something better.

Picture it: Friday, 11:30AM, Lunch Time… Hungry Black Man with 45 minutes for lunch. 15 of those minutes were spent in the drive thru of this place with people pacing back and forth(and I can see this…) and no one took my order. I went forward and reversed twice. Still nothing. 1⁄3 of my lunch break wasted. I won’t try again. Fooled me once, shame on you because I love chicken and I would probably have eaten there two/three times a week. Oh well.

Second visit to PDQ today and I thought I would write a quick review. We feasted upon a 4 tender dinner and a kids nugget meal. The tenders were a good size, bigger than Chickfila and nice and tender. The honey marinated nuggets were well prepared and also a good size. Fries are made on site and are double fried unlike In-n-Out which are single fried. The sauces deserve their own mention. Bbq sauce had great flavor although on the sweet side. Honey mustard was excellent and had a nice tang. The standout was the gravy, it would make anything taste better. You could put it on your napkins and have a good lunch! The food was capped by attentive service and the always fun Coke Freestyle machines. If you are on the hunt for some tasty chicken in Plano you need to hit up the PDQ pretty darn quick!

The food is awesome, but twice now I’ve gotten food to go or through the drive thru with no drink given to me when I ordered a meal. They are very print about giving you your food, but just make sure you leave with your drink.

In our family, PDQ has overtaken Canes, Superchix and Golden Chick as the Chicken Finger Champion of Dallas. Simply put, PDQISTHENUTS! While it’s possible that no one can create a more perfect chicken tender sauce than Canes, PDQ offers eight different sauces to choose from and just introduced a black pepper gravy that is amaZeAballs. I also like the creamy garlic. Adding to the madness is the fact that they have two awesome DIY soda machines where you can add vanilla, cherry, grape or peach to any soda you like. I prefer the Mello Yello with grape but to each his own. Included with your meal is your choice of French fries(big hit with the kids), blueberry Cole slaw(big hit with the ladies) or apples with toffee(big hit with the dentist). Most amazingly, right now PDQ has a late night special where you can get a 3 piece tender meal with your choice of side and a drink for $ 5. FIVEBUCKS! If the McDonalds in Dallas weren’t so terrible and offered(frozen and processed) chicken tenders, they’d be priced at $ 4.79 for three WITHOUT a side or drink. Cmon people, this is a no-brainer. Add in a great staff that puts the customer first, an outdoor beanbag game and a clean, modern interior with televisions and you’d have to be certifiably insane to go elsewhere to satisfy your chicken fix. Boom. That just happened.

This place is yummy! I got the crispy chicken sandwich and the chicken was very juicy… it was delicious. I also got the blueberry slaw– I was honestly expecting something slightly better than just regular slaw with some blueberries on top. But the crispy chicken sandwich was so good that it made up for it– I would recommend getting the fries(they’re pretty thin cut which I like!) rather than the slaw! The milkshakes are also very good — they are exceptionally creamy. I enjoyed the soda fountain as well, there’s something for everyone, beverage-wise. While we were there we saw they are having a cornhole tournament this weekend; we liked the food and enjoyed the atmosphere enough to plan to return for that. Definitely give it a try if you are in the area !

I was in the neighborhood and have been on a tenders/wings kick lately, so this place seemed ideal to try out(especially since it’s new). Upon entering its really nice inside; built for a good sized lunch/dinner rush. It’s very clean(it should be, it’s new!!). They’ve got the Freestyle Coke fountains, which I love; being able to customize my drink is a great option. If you’re worried about mixing of flavors… just press the button and clear the previous sodas outta the line. Good stuff though! Mello Yellow is hard to find in Self Serve machines! The staff was really helpful and smiles were all around! Nice to see they’re enjoying their jobs. The chicken strips were fresh, and juicy; still smoking hot. But the fresh-cut fries… YUMMMMMM! I love fresh cut fries; the flavor is definitively different from frozen. There’s a ton of dipping sauces, and they’ll give you pretty much whatever you want(or however many you want). The friendly staff kept the place clean during lulls, and needed little direction… a sign of good training. The prices are about the same as other tenders places, and it’s much much better than Raising Canes… for sure!

Review is for the drive-through experience and food. This was the first time I’d ever used their drive-through. I happened to be the only customer in line on a Sunday night @ around 8 p.m. The employees were friendly at patient at the time as I went through the menu posted on the drive through. Try their Crispy Chicken Sandwich that is made a brioche bun with mayo, lettuce, tomato and pickles. They have one of the best tasting chicken sandwiches out there. Their fries are also really tasty and fresh. Will definitely come back for more!

I am a fan! You have probably seen PDQ idf you live in Plano, Frisco, or McKinney but for those of you who live in the southern direction of thoe areas you may not know who they are. My advice, head norh on Preston and check them out. After several trips here my favorite is the nuggets and I choose the pepper gravy as my dipping sauce. Get extra because you will love it!

My favorite chicken place in Plano. Best dipping sauces, sandwiches, tenders and fries. Highly recommended — better then raising cane’s by a mile! I’ve now had tenders, chicken sandwich, chicken nuggets, fries, and a milk shake. All have been great.

We go here quite often now. Consistently good service in both drive thru and in store. Yes, chicken is much like other quality chicken places, juicy and good. The grilled tenders are particularly good compared to other spots. Home made ranch dipping sauce great. Sometimes ketchup dispensers don’t work and seem to be out but employee will fix. Drink machine is sometimes out of a specific soda and you have to bring it to attention of crew. On a few occasions later in evening we have seen the young crew cutting up a bit too obnoxiously and loudly behind counter while others are sitting around and not cleaning tables and such. Not a biggie but noticeable. The daytime, female manager is professional and helpful. On one occasion the grilled tenders were particularly small and cost over $ 9. She agreed they were measly and fixed. I like the place and the food :)

Wow, so glad this place opened up near my home!!! Their chicken tenders are so moist and flavorful. Definitely beats Cane’s Raising Chicken. And their side order of fries comes in one of those bowl-sized to go soup containers. It’s huge! The only reason I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars is because of their shake. I got the Heath shake and was disappointed in the size. It’s pretty small. Also, my shake was somehow not 100% cold, which is kind of questionable… Nonetheless, would definitely come again soon!

«After the kitchen tour I was stoked to experience the chicken and fries first-hand! Upon arriving to the table the meal already looked a step up from competitors. The chicken was not lathered in grease, the fries were not crinkled-cut frozen and the tray was accompanied by more than just one homemade sauce. I bit into the first chicken strip, utter heaven. The pre-seasoning of the chicken shines in the end result. I am not a fry person either but PDQ’s fries trump even Wing Stops. Highly seasoned but just under the mark of overly seasoned. This meal was perfection, under $ 10 perfection at that.» Read the full review on my blog, !

Just okay… Good variety of sauces but the overall taste of the food is similar to any other chicken place. They get the most points for ambiance. But I would pass on this and hit up Super Chix on Preston & Beltline.

hmm, lots of hype for this place in the hood. Huge place, very organized. Staff is highly trained and are very professional. Chicken and Turkey! No beef, No Fish. NO bueno! My first visit was going through the drive through. Just like clockwork. The attendant was able to walk me through the menu no sweat. Ordered the 3 pc fried and an extra 3 pc grilled, fries, chocolate milkshake and Large soad. Roughly around $ 14.50. Fair pricing. Got home and the first thing i noticed is that the fries order is huge! Cut fries yummy well seasoned and fried just right. No lardy smell. Next I notice the fancy vented square boxes the chicken comes in. Clever Clever. Designed not to dry up the chicken I guess. The boxes work, the fried chicken was still moist and crunchy. The grilled box was lined with foil and it too worked. The grilled chicken was not dry. The chicken was ok, but teeny when compared to Cane’s. Plus they do not offer bread! I guess they have the homemade sauces, but still. Next time I try the sandwiches.
