Crowded or quiet — always a friendly welcome, prompt service and exceptional sushi. Plenty new on the menu(and even more off the regular menu) for even the most experienced sushi and sashimi lover to explore. But beware… once you make your first visit to Simon’s, you are destine to find yourself returning, and returning again.

Be sure to make reservations. Ask for the not-so-secret«secret» menu. BTS roll.(Better than Sex). Not quite, but a catchy name. Kid friendly. BYOB!

Little hole in the wall place off of 75 that’s easy to miss. We walked in with a bottle of wine and the server had it uncorked for us 2 minutes after we sat down. Fast and very friendly service! We ordered a few rolls and some sashimi. One of the rolls, the«Sprinkle» roll should be named El Inferno. Topped with some kind of chilis and diced jalapeño, it will set your mouth ablaze and set off The China Syndrome in your belly. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be back for more!

First time here & was not impressed with the food that we ordered. Cousin was here 1 year ago & like the food that’s why I want to give it a try. She also agreed food quality of taste went down. Location was nice & ambiance was cozy. Nice customer service. However, food was nothing to rave about & would not come back if there are better places. Spider roll was not rolled tight enough, was on the loose side & falling apart when picking it up with the chopsticks. Ordered tonkatsu bento box. Came with soup, 3 pieces CA roll, salad, tempura, rice, & fried pork chop. Didn’t ordered miso soup but the other choice of soup, which don’t remember the name. This soup was chicken broth with sliced button mushrooms & scallions. It didn’t have much flavor & was on the warm side. Was expecting HOT soup. CA roll was not rolled tight either. Rice wasn’t as hot & more in the drier side, not as moist & tender as it supposed to be. Fried pork chop was dry,(possibly over cooked?) Cousin order teriyaki beef & wasn’t satisfied on the taste either.

Some say hit. Some kiss. I’ve always hit. The food has never failed me and the service is family. I’d you have issues with that we’ll talk. Lol

We came to Simon Sushi after reading some of the wonderful reviews people left on here and I’m really glad we did! Upon arriving we were greeted by friendly servers and an overall amazing atmosphere. The restaurant is really small but cozy, you can see the sushi chefs making the rolls from just about anywhere you’re sitting in the restaurant which is neat. The fiancé and I ended up ordering a few rolls and both were amazing, very fresh and flavorful. Note: this is a BYOB restaurant, so make sure to bring your own alcohol(this we did not realize and we were left wanting a glass of wine with our sushi) oh well, next time we know to bring a bottle of wine.

Okay. So I had come here last week and ordered my usual: BTS, Volcano, as well as agedashi tofu and super white tuna. Last night I wanted to try different items so I ordered off the Special Menu: sake black cod, yellowtail sashimi special and fire? roll, also ordered super white tuna sashimi, and beef tataki. Everything was wonderful and we literally cleaned our plates HOWEVER we barely touched the black cod, it was overcooked and dry, not reminiscent of any black cod I have ever had before: buttery, melt in your mouth deliciousness. I informed the waiter and he took the black cod away and said he would tell his boss. When he came back with our check, I saw that the cod was still on the check and asked if they were going to take it off. He said again he would ask his boss and at that point Simon’s wife?/manager? came to our table. I told her the fish was dry and overcooked, and she simply said she had tried it and their recipe is good. I asked her if she would take it off our bill and she said no, because she had tried it and it was good. Well then. You would rather charge a regular customer $ 12 for unacceptable cod that you took away and didn’t even offer to box up to give to her so maybe she could give it to like her dog or something, then bite the bullet to keep a repeat customer. I’ll take my business elsewhere Simon!

First time here! Will definitely come again! I love sushi and I love that this restaurant seems more authentic on their selections. It’s a small and intimate restaurant. The staff is very Friendly and food is delicious! I tried the Dobi Mushi soup and it was so good!

Ah Simon’s. I love it. Everytime I think I will try some new sushi place, I always wish I had just gone to Simon’s. My favorite rolls are the Saturday Night roll and the New Year’s Eve roll. Also love the albacore nigiri. Love this place. BYOB!

I love love love sushi and I tried this place just because it was across the street from my apartment complex. The fish quality was quite low for the price and someone could easily go across the street to japan house for much higher quality and approximately the same price for 3 rolls I paid 40 dollars, where I could have easily gotten a dinner buffet that features sashimi

If you think I give 5 stars for everything, it’s because It’s deserved. I just started Unilocaling consistently so whenever I run into anything worse than 5 stars, you’ll see em. anyways my review! Went to Uni Sushi in plano but it was a extremely long wait for food so I Unilocal’d up this little gem of a sushi restaurant. Went here with family so ordered a whole bunch. started off with Kara age(think popcorn chicken) nothing fancy but meat was tender and juicy. wouldve been good combined with ramen or something. ordered a bunch of rolls(bts, three egg, happy eel and some other eel.) all were delicious . got a chirashi bowl and loved it. I always love chirashi cause you can’t go wrong with that! def recommend this place if you’re in the mood for some sushi. service was great, except the food did take a little longer but that’s expected for a Friday night dinner.

Very dry, small portions, expensive, and the restaurant looks outdated with pink napkins. And the sushi chef kept taking shots! I felt rushed. For 4 rolls we paid $ 60 plus tip. It wasn’t worth it. I will not be back. The BTS everyone raves about. But it’s sure not«Better Than Sex»…

The ambiance conducive to conversation, and service was prompt and extremely friendly, as was the presentation of our food. The portions of wasabi and ginger were generous. The Spider Roll was flavorful, with seaweed wrapping just the right texture. I just couldn’t give more than three stars when considering the high cost and very limited crab meat in the California Rolls for lunch. But I will return to try again.

Simon’s sushi is always fresh and excellently prepared just for you. He can make you something from the menu but I would suggest a special request. He will be sure to wow you.

Like A WALKINTHESPRINGRAIN we walked in like THEWRECKINGCREW with FISTSOFFURY. Then we met Simon, the BIGBOSS. From flawless sashimi to inventive rolls the sushi kept coming relentlessly like Bruce Lee in a room full of thugs it just wouldn’t stop then ENTERTHEDRAGON, a roll shaped like a dragon with a head and tail. We ate until there was a deafening quiet in the room then quickly paid and ran out never to be seen again. While simon may look like Bruce Lee and the sign outside belongs in an old 1970’s movie the sushi is to Die for. Hi yah!

We’ve been going to Simon’s for years and it is still hands down our favorite sushi spot! We have tried other local sushi places in the Dallas area and elsewhere… but all other places pale in comparison. Everything is always fresh and expertly crafted. It’s also BYOB and very reasonably priced. You simply can’t find better sushi.

We have been going to this place for almost a decade. Is it super high end douche baggery sushi? Nope. Please head to downtown for the no reservation wait for five hours poser sushi and wallet rape. For us? This is our local sushi joint and we love it. It’s not cheap, but good food never is. Last Friday was another wonderful experience. Catepillar, Dragon, Cucumber, and Rainbow rolls were awesome as well as our standbys. There is no «secret menu», sit at the bar and ask Simon for whatever you what. Hell, be adventurous and tell him to surprise you!

So far just had the soup…(Not the miso the other, and can’t remember the name) Not impressed… Really is like drinking hot water with mushrooms. To be honest, not that impressed with the place overall California roll is like getting sushi from grocery Cajun is gross Tempura roll is the best we got. We should if just stuck with our usual sushi places. But last time we came here the line was out the door so we left and this was our first time(and only)

I went to Simon’s for lunch on Friday. It was not relatively packed– but it was spring break so there’s that. In any case, we were greeted with prompt service and friendly servers. It’s a very tiny space and it’s BYOB. We ordered a few rolls and I’ll review them as I go: BTS«better than sex» Roll– This was actually very good and the pico de gallo added a nice twist. I normally don’t try things with Pico, but this was something I had to try. It was very delicious and the flavors complimented each other. Pink Lady– This was my favorite. This was the perfect mixture of flavors and spicy enough for me to be a happy girl. Spicy Tuna– Very good, a classic that is hard to mess up. Fresh tasting. California Roll– Again a classic roll that is hard to mess up, the person I was with really only likes this type of roll. Overall, the experience was great and the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. I will definitely return to try more rolls– also, look at the secret menu, there are tons of really good rolls on there that I wanna give a shot.
