I LOVE the chicken Roti here. My husband and I will travel from McKinney just for this dish. Just note the owners are from Guyana not trinidad or Jamaica so their dishes will vary slightly in flavors. I’ve had a few things here but my favorite by far is the boneless chicken roti. GETITSTAT!

The worst shrimp curry I have ever had in my life. The shrimp had a texture of a wad of rubber in my mouth. Now when I visit Kingston I go to my favorite Jamaican place for the best curry shrimp. The rice and beans are nothing to brag about as well as the canned spinach.

Def not Jamaican Caribbean food. Coming from the north east this leaves something to b desired.

Holy vegan heaven, this place is DIVINE!!! If you want some true soul food with Caribbean flair, look no further. The veggie plate is legit(and also naturally gluten free!); fresh spinach, cabbage, curried potatoes and rice. The mashed potato balls were fresh and tasty too, and perfect with the tamarind dipping sauce. They have a unique selection of groceries, with exotic jams and jerk sauces, tons of spices, cheap cane sugar and many vegetarian(and omni) delights. Worth the trip across town for sure!

Darn good Curried Chicken: the rice with peas(pigeon peas, not green giant stuff) and spinach for side were equally tasty Nd yummy. I did enjoy all the grocery product on the shelves: I’m tempted to pick up a bucket of cured boneless beef brisket but I’m not sure what to do with it.

I really enjoyed the comforting, home style Caribbean food without all of the fluff and flair. It is the perfect place for lunch, and the location was very accessible for me. Will definitely be back!

They are Okay at best. The roti is good, tried the jerk chicken and curry chicken. Not real good. The first time I stopped in I ordered pullories and Allu pie, they were just dripping with oils and tasted frost bitten. Won’t go back for the food, but they do have some entertainment on the weekends, live comedy etc, but skip the food.

Eh, this place was okay. Won’t be returning. I’ve had real Caribbean food when I traveled to Philly &MD so now whenever I eat it down here(the South) it’s just not the same /as good. I ordered the jerk chicken, with rice and cabbage. The chicken was dry and spicy. Cabbage wasn’t seasoned. Rice was okay, nothing special. I also ordered a beef patty, didn’t like it either. So sad, I had high hopes for this place and even traveled far to taste it.

Good tasty Jamaican /Indian food. Must try curry chicken, curry goat and Chicken Patties. Owners and staff Is very nice and friendly. Word of advise call in advance for chicken patties since they make it fresh and it’s a hot seller. I always do.

LOVE this place! Came here last year for the first time for some awesome beef patties & ginger beer. This year I returned and had their Stew Chicken — WOW. Honestly, amazing. I’ve been thinking about it ever since! So flavorful. The cabbage was also really tasty, perfectly cooked. I look forward to trying the spinach next time! I love all the authentic bottled drink options, the Caribbean food options, the beef and curry chicken patties. There’s also a mini market inside that includes cod fish, cocktail sized frozen patties, and other frozen food options to take home and cook later. YUM. Can’t wait to come back here. Caribbean places are few and far apart here, I’m so happy that I found this gem but sad that it’s so far from home.

Love this place. I was craving oxtail and I was so happy to find this restaurant less than a mile from my home. The owner was so friendly. She got my to go order out in less than ten minutes. The oxtail was cooked perfect and the beef patty was great. I will be back again!

I eat Caribbean food often and travel to Jamaica at least once a year. This is only addressed to advise that I’m experienced in what authentic Caribbean food is. I was in the area and found this place on Unilocal. When I went in I noticed commercial jerk sauce along with other items on a shelf that was for sale. This should have been my 1st clue. Deciding to keep it basic I ordered jerk chicken thinking that if it didn’t live up to my expectation it should at least taste grilled. This was not the case. It was nowhere near being jerked chicken. I asked the lady how the chicken was prepared since the man did not appear to understand my question. She said the chicken was baked in an oven. I thought the chicken had been boiled and then had the«jerk sauce» from the bottles on the shelf poured over it. Yuck!!! I got it to go and threw it away.

The best Caribbean food in Dallas, Hands down! The Jamaican jerk chicken is an absolute must try! The curry chicken is other worldly and spiced to perfection. A side of cabbage proved to be very tasty. I’ve eaten here many, many times and recently the restaurant has experimented with offering a buffet for lunch on Thursday and Friday and I think it’s an excellent idea… will admit not a huge fan of buffets but this is a home run! If you’ve not had much experience with Caribbean food I suggest trying the buffet so you can savor several tasty dishes! This is the true definition of a hole in the wall that will exceed all your expectations.

Great Jerked chicken with rice & peas! The Curry chicken could use a bit more spice and depth of flavor but it was ok. Roti & fried plantains are the perfect sides always.

If you are from the West Indies or Caribbean, you will know this place is absolutely terrible! I’m from the Bahamas and understand it is not Bahamian food, but it’s not island food at all. Jerk chicken should never ever ever be baked! That is called baked chicken. The rice is absolutely bland. Curry bland, everything bland. I also have a Bahamian mom that is one of the best cooks in the world to me, so I understand I have high standards. But not matter how much I’m craving island food, I will never come here! They make island good seem embarrassing, because so many people think this is how it should taste. Let me worn you, this is not it.

New to the area and excited to find what we thought was a Jamaican spot. Definitely surprised when we walked in and immediately realized this was not Jamaican, but Guyanese. Decided to give it a try anyway. Both ordered jerk chicken, rice/peas, cabbage, fried plantains. Jerk chicken was very spicy: more peppery than flavorful(very tender, but several bones with no chicken on them at all). Rice/peas: somewhat clumpy. Cabbage: okay. Plantains: yum. Pound cake: basic. We ended up going back a few days later(I wanted more plantains). I got jerk chicken again, he ordered the curry chicken. I also got spinach and cabbage that time, still just okay. He didn’t seem too enthused about the curry chicken. Service was average both times. A decent place for some quick Caribbean food in the area, but will definitely venture out to find some Jamaican dining in the Dallas area.

love, love, love caribbean food. However, the older light skinned lady(The Owners wife) needs a serious attitude tuneup, or customer service class! She is so bitchie everytime I come there and ask for Dhal Roti! It’s like she hates to see me coming!!! On a positive note, her husband is always very nice and helpful. I told my husband that if he wants Dhal Roti, he will have to go there himself, I don’t ever want to go there again. If it weren’t for that evil lady I would give this business 5 Stars!

I just started a new gig up in Plano. I haven’t had roti or buss up shot in over a year. Things have been going downhill since leaving NY, I swear. I’ve been so sick of fast food, chain food and fried chicken. (I’m not even a worshipper of fried shiz anyway. Don’t get me wrong… It’s good but made me feel like my veins started pumping oil balsamic vinegar instead of blood.) So after Googling roti a million times, I finally was able to see most of the Caribbean spots out in Dallas are in Plano.(*Homegirl voice* Heeeeeey boo.) On my lunch break, I navigated some wickedly confusing traffic and found this location. It’s in a strip plaza attached to a Caribbean store. I ordered a BONELESSCURRYCHICKENROTI. I got exactly what I wanted. It was delicious. I was happy. This is a Guyanese spot, so it’s damn near the same as a Trini spot, and both can do Dhal Puri or Roti(there’s a difference). So this Afro-Carib-Latina is very happy. All I need are spots for authentic Bajan, Dominican, Puerto Rican or Venezuelan food.

Carribean/Guyanese food in Plano? I’m in. I had the jerk chicken. It was spicy in an unfamiliar, yet tasty, way. The chicken meat was incredibly tender, though I dont believe it was fresh. Also, watch out for pieces of bone here and there. It came on a bed of orange rice and a side of cabbage. The place has a decent selection of carribean beverages. I had a Jamaican cream soda. The place looks more like a convenience store with a few tables in case you want to dine in. I highly recommend this place if you’ve never tried carribean food and want to sample some dishes.
