I would actually give 3.5 stars. I ordered the 6 oz filet with salad and baked potato. What is the deal with potatoes being so tiny? Potatoes are cheap yet they insist on giving tiny ones. Bread was warm and good, steak was cooked correctly. Just don’t think you should walk away from a $ 25 meal barely satisfied. TLC. Used to be my preferred steakhouse but not anymore.

Have been to this place before and have never been very impressed. It’s always been just ok. The side salad was good and the steak(6-oz filet) was cooked exactly as ordered. However, the«steamed» broccoli came out bone dry and raw. I couldn’t even pierce it with my fork. I sent it back to be cooked and it came out with brown/burn spots on it like it was microwaved instead of steamed. The manager came by to check and I asked how they cooked their broccoli. He said it was steamed. Not sure how you can steam broccoli and have it be bone dry when you serve it. I suggested they take a lesson from Texas Roadhouse on the proper way to cook broccoli. Also, the temperature of the restaurant is always cold, cold, cold!!! We were seated directly in front of the fireplace this time so it was tolerable but most other times it’s a miserable dining experience because it’s always freezing cold, winter and summer! Our waiter was attentive and did a great job!

Edit: Just had a very pleasant call and apology from the general manager at this location. There must have been a breakdown in communication somewhere with the staff. I’ll give them another shot. — — — — — — — – Once again. I gave them a shot. This time I was actually seated. 4:45 not very busy. Got sat at a table right next to a crying baby because they were seated in the MIDDLE of the damn restaurant for some reason. Nobody wants to listen to that shit. Anyway. Got up and left after 15 minutes of no waiter. Permanently lost my business this time. Don’t eat here if you expect to be waited on.

My wife and I went here for out first anniversary dinner, and the first thing that I noticed was that the place was almost empty. The Cowboys were playing and the balloon festival was going on at the same time, so we didn’t think too much of it. We were seated right away and our server was nice enough, but was either distant or distracted. We both ordered the smoked sirloin, she with a salad and I with the steak soup. Her salad was fine, my soup tasted a little weird, so I just ate the meat. Our steaks were okay at best. There wasn’t anything inherently wrong with them, they just didn’t taste that good. During our meal, my wife mentioned that we were there for our anniversary, and our waiter said that he would get us a brownie, and my understanding was that it was going to be a free brownie. My understanding was wrong. When we got the bill, there was a seven dollar brownie on it, and I tipped with that in mind. To be fair, we didn’t bring these things to the attention of the management because, like I said, there wasn’t anything noticeably wrong with the food(it wasn’t cold or cooked to the wrong temperature, and he didn’t explicitly say that the brownie was going to be free), but for an anniversary dinner, it left quite a bit wanting. We will not be going back there when there are much better steak places.

A couple of years ago, when I went to Texas Land and Cattle, it was busy, the waitstaff was excellent and the food portions were big and tasted great. It was great. Visited Texas Land & Cattle again about a month ago, and we walked in, they place only had a few patrons, the waitstaff was not nearly as good and food was definitely not as good as we remembered. There are so many other steak places in the area, I doubt we will visit this restaurant again.

Stopped back in… Much livelier atmosphere with a couple of large groups dining. The music even sounds better. I just have to say that the smell that I noted in my first review has to be the seating. It’s faint but not objectionable this time. I have an astounding sense of smell… Maybe it’s me. So this time I ordered the bone in ribeye which apparently is sourced locally in North Texas. It is a big test for a restaurant with Texas in its name. The cook on it(medium) was PERFECT! Nicely spiced, great pepper on the outside, and flavorful. You have to be able to cook a steak to the correct temperature if you operate in Texas. Server was nice and had a genuine smile. Nice experience and a great value for under $ 40.

I like the free boiled peanuts. The peanuts on the floor took me a few visits to get used to, but after the third visit I was tossing shells on the floor too. Favorites are the steak soup(there are large chunks of steak and huge potatoes). Love the medallions and the smaller cuts of steak. Grilled shrimp & large sweet potato with the honey butter complete this awesome meal. Wish there were TXLCs in Virginia… guess then it would be VALC.

We will never go back. The bathrooms were filthy, sticky floors, watered down drinks, steak was served cold, check was wrong. Waiters were slow. The manager even looked like an idiot. We seemed to be the only customers at the time. When you get good parking spot, something’s wrong! I should have known better. We should have gone to Outback or Saltgrass.

I understand TXLC changed ownership groups a couple of years ago, and it has crashed since then. The food used to be good but has become mediocre. Thought I would give it a shot since it was late Saturday and every other place was packed. I was by myself and walked up to the bar and sat down. The bartender passed me about 8 times back and forth and never even acknowledged me. As I was about to get up, she realized I was there and asked me what I wanted to drink. I asked for a menu and had to ask for a wine list. The guy next to me was already loping at the menu when I sat down and I saw what I wanted and put my menu back on her side of the bar. About 10 minutes later, she asked what he wanted to eat while he was still reading and then took my order. My salad finally came out about 15 minutes later. My steak was 5 minutes after that, so it got cold while I was finishing my salad. My wine glass was empty when she sat my steak down and my water glass was empty for 5 minutes or so as well when the guy next to me asked where his steak was and told her I might be in need of something. I ordered another glass of wine and after I was finished with my dirty dishes in front of me for a while, I finally had to put my credit card on the bar in front of her so she would know I was ready to leave(as if the empty plate and glasses weren’t enough. She did ring me up fast after that. It wasn’t overly busy, she had people helping her… like the guys that kept doming back there washing glasses and the manager who kept stocking beer. I would have thought he would have seen my empty glasses but he never even looked at a patron. I lost count of how many times people walked by without looking at me. Honestly, I think I just made my last trip.

Texas Land & Cattle was a good place when it comes to their 12oz. Boneless Ribeye. It was very juicy, the meaty was delicious and I cant forget how delicious it is. I had a lot of Ribeye before but this one is really different. The aroma from the warm meat, the very tender taste of it. I love it. This would be my hangout place when I come again here at Plano.

I went there for my birthday and ordered the boneless ribeye medium well. The steak was so thin I could literally see through it. I paid over 20 $ for paper steak that I was afraid to send back to the kitchen. I’ll keep my money in my pocket… No thanks!

Stopped in for a Sunday afternoon meal and was impressed by their customer service and fresh foods. Everything was on point. Appreciate the attentiveness of our waitress and with a smile. I’ll be back when in the area.

Went there with my family for Father’s Day 2014. The first thing I noticed, when I entered the establishment and placed my hand on the welcome podium was it was sticky to the touch. When I was seated I also noticed that the chair and table was also had a sticky feeling to the touch. I thought it was me, but when my wife arrived she said the same. Oh Well! Strike One !!! The food was OK at best. I ordered a Ribeye that looked more like a T-Bone. The sides(Garlic Mash & Broccoli Spears) were also OK but did not have the best appearance. Strike Two !!! I ordered a Shiner draft, but they was out. Strike Three !!! We made to best of it so we ate, paid, had some laughs, and Bounced !!! The next strike will be mine, that is striking Texas Land & Cattle off our list of steak places in North Dallas.

It’s tough to me to give this place 3-stars. My dad would be so disappointed. This is one of his favorite spots to visit when coming to see my sister in Dallas. But, the reality is this is a chain steakhouse and tastes like one. Fortunately, we had excellent service while we were here on a Saturday night and the food was good, but not great. If you don’t mind chain food(and you like Salt Grass, Texas Roadhouse, etc) you’ll love this spot. Redfish is my favorite fish and this was the first time I ordered it. Unfortunately, it resembled tilapia rather than the moist, flavorful fish I’m used to getting, even at Pappadeaux. The sauce they drenched it with was bland and flavorless, which didn’t help. If you are going to douse the fish, at least made the sauce dynamite. My sis and her friend ordered salads with chicken/steak, respectively, and they were good, and average. My mom’s steak was good, too. Not the ‘wow, we need to come back here good’ but the ‘ok, it’s not bad’ kinda good. In closing there’s nothing on the menu that is terrible or that you won’t like, but most of it won’t get you excited either. It’s average an if you’re ok with that, you’ll love this place because it’s clean and the service is good.

As far as I’m concerned this place is crap. I was gonna go with a mediocre review, but the second I realized they just cooked a filet all the way through, it’s no longer a steakhouse for me… If you somehow end up here on your own volition, I would get the smoked sirloin, the one I had at the Lemmon location was good, but haven’t tried it here.

I came here with my coworkers and I have a couple of reasons for the 3 stars. I would only give the food here 2 stars but our waiters were really nice so I’m giving them another star for that. I had 2 friends ordering a steak, one was undercooked when it wasn’t suppose to be, and the other was over cooked. It was expensive and the portion wasn’t very generous. I personally ordered the full rack of ribs, and luckily they made it right. It was good but not amazing. The sides were MEH. After the experience of dining here, I wasn’t too surprise with how empty the restaurant was on a Sunday night.

Pros: Steak was cooked as requested. Cons: Hostess was uncouth, food came out in weird order, insufficient tortillas. Me: «Hello, we have a 7 o’clock reservation, under Rick Hostess: «I don’t see a reservation» Me: «Made it earlier in the week. Even spoke with the manager.» Hostess: «Sorry, we don’t have a reservation. Oh, we can seat you immediately. But you don’t have a reservation.» When greeted at a restaurant I prefer congeniality to accuracy. Why ram it down my throat that you are unable to locate the reservation? Anyway… Wasn’t expecting much from this place. We chose TXLC as it was a joint in which my papa would feel comfortable. He’s not a slacks and tie kind of dude. Ordered some cheese skillet appetizer. For $ 8, you get a small skillet with melted cheese, peppers and spinach. And two tortillas. There were four of us. Stupid appetizer. The table next to us showed up ten minutes later than us, and got their food ten minutes early. Where’s your accuracy and precision now, TXLC? We had to request our soup and salad. Manager was able to read my dad’s Head On A Swivel Looking For The Waitress WIth His Ass Half Out Of His Seat vibe, so he dropped $ 30 in vouchers for the meal to compensate. Steak was cooked medium as desired. Miss L’s was not well seasoned, and lacked requested sauce. Her steak was cold by the time the sauce came out on the second trip.

Service was terrible! Took over 25 minutes to get a simple beer and our steaks took way longer. Not to mention that I asked for a medium rare steak and got a well done steak. The brisket stuffed jalapeños come in groups of 6, not the 8 we were promised. They were also mainly fried breading than jalapeño or brisket. The asparagus had no seasoning and was drenched in oil, and the steak was bland and over cooked. Only thing redeeming was our awesome and funny waitress and the bread… which our table went through six loaves of before any food was brought out. I don’t recommend it unless you are there not during peak hours. They just can’t handle it.

This place is a level up from Texas Roadhouse but the food is pretty much the same. I’m not a big steak person so I got the Southwest Pico Chicken and wedge salad, Remember not to get the Southwest Pico Chicken because the chicken is too salty. All they did was seasoned the chicken with season salt but boy one bite and I was done. Was skeptical if I should let the waiter know but just said oh heck I’ll just wash the seasoning and give it to a dog. Now the wedge salad was delicious! Excellent bleu cheese dressing and crisp lettuce. The plate itself looks fancy and they add two croutons. They have a special going on, two for $ 25, not the reason why I went here by the way…
