I really like the Filmore pub as a good local bar. Today was my first time to try their brunch, and I was disappointed. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and the biscuits were dry and powdery. I should have just stuck to who I knew had good brunch, but o’well. The service here though was great. I will definitely be back during evening hours for a pint and the pig skins. Their pig skins are phenomenal here.

Nice place to wind down. Service was quick and polite. They serve an excellent Reuben. Excellent environment for a traditional English pub. Bartender have quite a skill to bring up a quick conversation while tending to you then get right back to work. Made the attention as a customer feel personal.

Had the Pub Sliders they were good. Fries were homemade and delicious. Local brew list was not as many as I would like but I will definitely be back.

Excellent beer selection and very knowledgable servers. Had a great experience here. I can’t remember what I had to eat but it was good from what I remember. I would come back again and again.

We have been here a number of times, and the food is always superb. They have the best onion rings(with spicy dipping sauce) and calamari that I’ve ever had. Their Irish stew and Kobe-style sliders are also excellent. They have a great rotation of local brews, and great happy hour prices. You owe it to yourself to try this place!

I went here with a couple friends(3 women in their 40’s) last night, looking for a nice relaxing place to have a couple drinks and catch up. There were maybe 10 other people there on a Thursday night, so we sat at the bar. Our drinks were not cheap($ 8 to $ 15 each) so between three of us we had about $ 100 bar tab with tip. At the end of the night, the bartender said it was last call and one girl in the group ordered a $ 15 scotch. About 30 seconds later, the guy in the attached picture tells her to hand over the drink because they are closed, and we need to «get the fuck out». She says wait a minute, I just ordered it, give me a minute at least to drink it, it was $ 15! He says NO, and continues cussing us out and telling us to leave. I asked him if that was really necessary to cuss us out after the amount of money we had just spent, and he said«yeah, I don’t give a fuck what you spent, GET the fuck OUT!» So we left, and needless to say will never go back. For a place that definitely needed the business, maybe they should work on their customer service skills. If I was the owner of the bar and saw that, he would be gone. I will be telling everyone I know about the experience.

The hubs and I have been here a number times — with kids, sans kids… at a table and up at the bar — and have always had a really great experience. The staff is super cool and know their beers. If you have an idea of what you have a hankering for, they will get you the perfect beer within 2 samples. We have had a variety of apps, burgers, brunch items, daily specials, and sandwiches and have never been disappointed. The portions are right priced and I just love the vintage pub feel with all of the dark wood and high ceilings. I personally would not bring my kids in too late but during the day and early evening is fine(hey, grow ups need their time too). Recommended.

Great for an afternoon work spot. Free wifi and nice beer selection… allows me a nice change of scenery when I need to get some work done but can’t stay in the office one minute longer. Good burgers as well!

Great beers, great ciders, great imports, very chill place and on weekends it’s always poppin! Check it out and head across the street to Vickery after if you feel like hopping. Might I also suggest you grab pizza at Urban Crust(next door) beforehand!

I’m keeping my review short and sweet. I was quite surprised of my liking for the Fillmore Pub. The drinks were good, the food was good, the atmosphere was lively and overall a very good experience. Will be coming back!

For my 100th review I was hopeful of writing a rave review of a local favorite. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. We went in, found a table and sat down. Our server came to take the drinks order almost immediately. We needed time to look through since we were going to eat too. We ordered the beer and food at the same time. Given the reviews of late, I asked to make sure the fish would come out crispy and not soggy, and I was assured it would. My wife’s drink turned up but mine didn’t. They were out. I ordered another and the food came out before the drink arrived at the time. The fish was hit or miss, some was crunchy, but the batter was rather thin and seemed to have soaked up a lot of grease. It’s as if the fat wasn’t hot enough for frying, that’s the only thing I can think of to explain it. The rest of the batter was not very crunchy and the fish itself really didn’t taste very good. The tartar sauce really wasn’t much to write home about either. Rather bland. At least the beer was good, when it finally arrived. This place has been so much better, but with all the reviews about the food recently, I think I’ll just stick to The Fillmore for its beer selection.

I’ve been to The Filmore Pub now about ten times, and I thought it best to finally write a review. There are three main reasons I like The Filmore: 1, the location — it’s in downtown Plano in a very walkable area of town with lots to do and see nearby. Barhopping anyone? Also, the décor both outside and inside is very well done and inviting. Really gives you the sense you’re going to get some good brews and pub eats. Which brings me to #2. 2, the eats — I believe it’s very rare to have been to a restaurant over 10 times and never had a problem with the food, but it’s true for The Filmore. I’ve had the steak frites, calamari, burgers, tenderloin sandwich, and of course the fish and chips. In my mind, you can’t go wrong with the food at The Filmore. 3, the drinks — first, they have a lot of good stand-bys on tap, such as Maredsous and Guinness, but they also have rotator taps(on the chalk board) and feature some damn tasty brews that satisfy my breadth of taste for craft brews. Also, I’m going to wrap the service staff into drinks because so much is centered around the bar. I’ve read some of the other reviews, and feel sorry that someone had a less than perfect experience, as in over 10 times, I’ve never felt that they were actively rude to me. Sure, on busy nights it takes a few minutes for them to come to you, or you have to flag a service staff member down, but I’ve never had a problem. I recommend The Filmore Pub, cheers.

Jamie and I dined here for lunch, and it was terrific. Fish and chips was some of the best in town, and the onion rings we asked for with it were fab. We also had the rueben and fries, which were also excellent. Cold craft beer for about $ 5 per pint? Yessirree! We enjoyed a Dogfishhead 60 minute IPA and a Franconia unfiltered wheat, both superb. The service was crisp and friendly, and the vibe of the place was excellent, like a big Irish bar, with plenty of space and comfy seating. It’s a pretty good drive from the M Streets, but worth it for a good change of pace and scenery from the Old Monk and its brethren pubs. We shall return soon: D

My first time here. The people were nice from the customers to the staff. Definitely gets crowded. Seems like a good place to hangout with friends for a pint. Im sure I will be back.

Dark, not too loud and quite romantic. It’s a nice first date spot so you can talk and just get to know each other over good food and and a glass or two of any drinks of your choice.

I am a fan of this bar. Many of my friends have had complaints on the service here over the years, but I have personally never had an issue. However, their sister bar, the Pub in McKinney I think is superior to this bar primarily due to better service. The Fillmore gets 4 stars from this for all other reasons. This is my favorite type of place to hang out at. I like the vibe and feel like its the right amount of relaxed and a little more upscale. I love the beer selection, its always great with rotators and seasonals without being so overwhelming. There are always a few that I haven’t seen somewhere else. I also don’t often eat here, but every time I do, I am always pleased. The food is definitely superior to the other bars in the area. The pommes frites and tenderloin sandwich are always amazing and satisfy a craving.

Great beer bar in Downtown Plano! It definitely has that relaxed pub atmosphere and plenty of beers to choose from. They have a happy hour with $ 1 off select drinks from 4 – 7 and the servers did a great job keeping up with our separate tabs and million different orders. I’d pass on the food though, it’s just typical pub fare so save your stomach space for something tasty nearby or just… MOARBEER.

This is a traditional pub, just like we remember from the UK. The food is very good — not GREAT, but good and well prepared. It’s nice and quiet if you want to meet up with a group for lunch or for a mid-day meeting. There’s a good crowd if you want to stop in for drinks after work. Fillmore also has the best, most traditional shandy’s we’ve had outside of the UK. Delicious!
