The Home Depot

If I am going to write a review for Home Depot I would say this location usually has the thing I am looking for. (not all locations carry all the same products) Was in the market for an french door refrigerator and this location had it. Both location on forest lane did not and the nursery I believe has a better variety here as well. Thumbs up

I’m rather tired of returning damaged merchandise to this store. Check your items closely before you leave.

Being a female city slicker, it can be a daunting task to walk into a hardware store, especially one as large as Home Depot. Being as stubborn as I am, I walked into the store, determined to find everything on my own. After about 20 minutes of walking around in utter confusion, a nice gentleman walked up and assisted me. Not only did he help me determine what I needed, but he also helped me make the most economical decision. After doing all of the heavy lifting, he pushed my cart to the front, helped me check out, and then came outside to help me load my vehicle. When he noticed that I was driving a Jetta, he quickly determined that I would need to come back with a truck. He brought my cart inside and placed my purchase in will call. When I arrived the next day with my husband’s truck, another gentleman placed everything in the bed and sent me on my way. I won’t lie, I started out afraid to embark on a DIY journey, but thanks to the helpful staff at Home Depot, I left with confidence and the ability to build a tv stand.

I’ve started going to Lowes instead…
After 18 years of coming here I’ve started going to Lowes instead. Why? Better selection, better stocked inventory, better prices and their 5% off credit card.
About half the time I go to this Home Depot location they are out of stock or don’t have what I’m looking for. Then I go to Lowes and there it is. Just bought a garage door, prices at Home Depot were about 15% higher, and I could go on with example after example. Plus Lowes has contractor pricing. So if you want a lot of something they give you an even bigger discount.
Next is the Lowes credit card. Save 5% every time you buy… I’m in. HD will match it, but only if you have a HD credit card. Not good enough, next.

Came in needing to get a patio set. I didn’t get any help and the customer service girl acted as though she didn’t know where anything was and simply said idk and let me go on my merry way. Once I made my purchase one of the associates came, apologized for the customer service, took my cart, loaded everything in my cart, apologized again for the service and refused my tip !!! Wow I was in awe turned the experience I think her name was Zya, hire people who actually care like this individual Home Depot !! Patio set works great as well, fits great on my small balcony.

The Home Depot was founded in 1978 by Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank. Along with investment banker Ken Langone and merchandising guru Pat Farrah, the founders’ vision of one-​stop shopping for the do-​it-​yourselfer came to fruition when they opened the first two Home Depot stores on June 22, 1979, in Atlanta, Georgia. The first stores, at around 60,000 square feet each, were cavernous warehouses that dwarfed the competition and stocked 25,000 SKUs, much more than the average hardware store at that time. Empty boxes piled high on the shelves gave the illusion of even more product.
I have been here 3 times this week alone. Everyone is very help… well, almost. The customer service area you would expect them to live up to their job title of «customer service.» However, these guys behind the counter look like they hate their job. Maybe they should be relocated to another position within the business, where they don’t have contact with guest one on one… I’m just saying. ;-)

This location has a better selection of tools than the North Dallas location on Coit. Even though its farther for me this is a big deal. I was able to pick up a couple of drill attachments I needed for my Ryobi tool set. The one knock I would have is this store was very messy and I couldn’t find an orange apron anywhere.

Its like any Home Depot out there. I will try this one out when I can not seem to locate what I want at the other ones and when it just happens to be on the way as it was this time around. Lots of yuppies come here though. So if you are a yuppie, you’ll like this one. Where else can you find a Maserati, Porsche, BMW and Audi vehicles parked side by side… AT A HOME DEPOT! I should have taken that pic and posted it with this store.

Thank you for providing a «winterize/​survive the freeze» section at the entrance. As a newbie to this weather having suggested items I might need all in one space was extremely helpful.
In addition, the gentleman who noticed my «I’m completely lost» face and offered to help in kitchenware was a lifesaver. My stovetop looks amazing thanks to your direction.

Great staff. Great selection. Very well organized. Always feel most comfortable at this one because I know most of the employees and they make finding what I need super easy
Paint section is much better than the other Home Depots I’ve gone too as well. Very knowledgable, prompt, and courteous. This is my go-​to Home Depot! Great work guys!

I’m a glutton for punishment for continuing to come back here. Have been in 3 times over the past few months and every time I’ve needed someone to cut wood for me, they are nowhere to be found. Even after having other associates page someone multiple times, no one came. We finally got the manager involved and after 30 minutes of waiting, finally had someone come.

This is a great store. The way I gauge a business is by the way they handle adversity. You will always have problems no matter where you go and unfortunately it’s because there are so many people multitasking that the average individual just can’t keep up. So with that said my experience has been great. We’ve had our hick ups but everyone in this store handles everything well.
Brian Worley is the band leader here and truly hires the right people. I have shopped at other stores but this one does take care of you. I have had two large purchases over 2k here and will be doing more in the future. I like the fact that when a problem arises they own it and that’s what makes a great store along with hiring the right people.

FYI – I am a very picky person but I’ve learned to go with the flow when things don’t go my way and it always has a far better outcome.

Very helpful staff, and nicely laid out. It is busy on the weekends. If you come here at night, self checkout is usually where you go when you are ready to pay.

This was my first time visiting this location. It’s not my local HD, but I was in the area. The customer service was good. I went on a Monday and found tons of lawn and garden items on sale. Even found a new grill for under $ 10. It was only on sale that day. Very nice charcoal grill that would have been $ 40 otherwise

Employee gave me attitude when I asked if they had bungee cords, and then was vague on the location. How simple is it to treat customers with respect, you get paid for it. We found another man that was more helpful.

I purchased a brand new stacking washer/​dryer from here which was simple enough. Couldn’t take it home same day but they would deliver it in just a few short days. Sure, okay, I can wait a few days…
Oh hooray, delivery day is here! Wait, what? The dryer is dented so I have to get a whole NEW one? Well, um okay, I guess I can wait 2 more weeks…
YES! New New dryer has arrived! What do you mean you cant hook it up because there’s no dryer vent? Why wasn’t that pointed out before? Ughghghghg. Okay, I’ll have my contractor come out to install a stupid dryer vent but that will take another week. Shit.
Okay. New dryer vent installed, can you FINALLY hook it up? Nope, the stacking kit has now has vanished into thin air. First I was accused of taking it (because after purchasing a $ 2K washer/​dryer, I realllllllllllllly wanted to cheap out and steal the $ 20 stacking kit.). Ugh, whatever, order new damn stacking it and I’ll see you next week.
Good news, we found your stacking kit in the original dryer, so we can send it out in a few more days! Fabulous. Lets do this please.
FINALLY my washer and dryer are fully installed, and working but it was pure hell getting to that point! I most likely wont order appliances from here again, but the staff on location was super nice!

Came here to get some shelves. Everyone here is always so helpful and knowledgeable. This home depot is large and very clean.
Be sure to find an employee. You can quickly get lost and broke.

This is my go-​to location for home improvement needs. I lived around the corner from this location for three years and even though I have since moved to the other side of Plano, I still head to this location… {gives me an excuse to go get a bubble tea down the street at Fat Straws}.
When I moved to the area in 2008 they even helped me by cutting a few pieces of wood to a certain size to fix the frame of my waterbed that was broken by the awful movers I had used. I also came here when I wanted to build a little shelf thing to bridge a gap between my computer desk and the file cabinets that were stacked in the corner of the room.
They have great prices on light bulbs and cleaning supplies.
They also donated a couple large pieces of plywood that we have been able to use for signs at the Conquer Chiari Walk Across America for the past 4 years.

If you build it, they will help.
Any home owner knows that one of the «joys» of home ownership includes various projects from time to time. This can include anything from changing a light bulb or planting a garden to building a fence or installing a water heater. Regardless of the task, Home Depot is the spot for getting everything you need for the job as well as having various employees who are capable of helping to answer your questions.
This location has always been one of my main go-​to locations when it comes to home improvement. They have almost everything you could ask for. Their sales staff is very knowledgeable and has always been able to steer me in the right direction to get my tasks done. I’ve used Home Depot for various jobs around the house: paint, garden, repairs, light fixtures, ceiling fans, closet organization, power tools, doors, toilet replacement, window dressings and electrical outlets/​switches.
I know a lot more today about home repair thanks to Home Depot.
