The Point at Deerfield Apartments

A nice quiet and gated complex. Very clean and pet friendly but not too kid friendly; they have a dog park but no park for the kids to play. The units are roomy and many have nice views. This complex is also close to major shopping centers and major highways in the area.

I would not recommend The Point. This place has changed ownership at least 3 times in as many years. We recently moved out, partially because they never did anything to improve the interiors or repair items brought to their attention. However, they do a good job at maintaining grounds and office space, and the pool is awesome! Outdoor fire pit and grill area look great, but never work and you have to share the space with RATS. There also seems to be a lot of vacant units. Current office staff is unorganized and a pain to work with. I’d pass on this one!

Although it appears to be a great place to live on the surface, the structural damages and mis-​management makes this a mess of a property to reside. Not only are there air conditioning and heating units outside of just about every window, there are structural issues with the buildings themselves as the foundations have shifted and caused giant cracks throughout the units. I moved out almost 3 months ago and have yet to receive my security deposit although inquiring at least a dozen times being told my check was in the mail. I still haven’t received it and have inquired a 13^th time and was told that 90% of it was taken out without any explanation of what for. I was not notified nor was given a chance to see the issues myself.
There are plenty of properties in North Dallas and plenty more that are managed properly and care about where you live. Do yourself a favor and check them out first —

If you’re looking for somewhere very normal yet a bit upscale to live, AMLI properties are generally good choices. AMLI at Deerfield is in far northwest Plano and has convenient access to a handful of large corporate campuses (HP and Frito-​Lay come to mind) as well as a large number of shops and restaurants (there must be over 200 individual businesses near the Preston/​121 intersection and even more at the Shops at Legacy).
AMLI at Deerfield has friendly staff, well-​kept grounds (and lots of wildlife — squirrels and rabbits, mostly), a reasonable fitness room, a huge pool, a self-​serve car wash (with disappointing water pressure, unfortunately), tons of parking, key-​fob-​operated gates, and at least half a dozen more useful amenities.
The apartments, themselves, are what you’d expect from AMLI: relatively boring floor plans with mid-​range carpeting, tiles, and appliances, along with some «cheaper» items such as ugly plastic railings on the balconies. It certainly *feels* nice, though.
The buildings, on the other hand, seem to have been constructed without a certain amount of oversight: the floors (on the second floor) creak, and the exterior stair cases seem a bit rickety.
All told, it’s a good place to live, and AMLI charges pretty reasonable rates for the quality, security, location, and amenities they provide.

I have lived on this property for a long time (moved out about 2 years ago) and I loved it there. The management staff were always helpful and kind. The property was always clean. I had lived in several different apartments over a 8 year time period and it was an awesome experience.
