Whirlyball Laserwhirld

Came here for Memorial Day! Group of 7 people for Whirleyball. $ 15 per person for one hour. The ref was sassy and I think he could’ve been a little nicer to us, but that’s just my opinion. Location looks pretty old but definitely give Whirleyball a try and don’t judge a book by its cover.

I thought I had reviewed this already. The reviews make it seem like it’s some rundown dump. Other one say that «oh it smells terrible, the tire smell is everywhere». Don’t listen to any of that shit. We had a blast and our host was great. Yes, inside of the arena it’s going to smell like rubber. What in the hell do you expect! We almost moved our birthday party to another place because of these other reviews, but I’m very glad that we did not. We played laser tag after we were done with whirly ball, but that was a bit lame. I don’t think it’s their fault. I think that, as a grown man, laser tag is not as exciting as it once was :-)

At one point this was a great place for parties, not anymore. Went with a group of friends and the place is very run down. After 2 games we had to switch courts because the electric floor completely stopped working. On the second court there were carts that didn’t work, sparks coming up from the floor, and seatbelts that didn’t buckle. Our games were stopped several times to fix issues. I asked to speak to a manager to make sure that we would get all of our games since there were so many delays and he would not come speak with me. Just had to speak to the employee behind the counter and he called the manager, felt like some weird deal or no-​deal situation. Eventually we did get 1 extra game, but it was not easy. You would think given the fact that the place was dead, and there were so many issues that they would be more accomodating to the people that are there spending money.
If you love whirlyball and you really want to play then this place will have to do. If you are having a party then don’t go to this place. I was embarrassed that i had booked a party here and talked it up to our friends.

This place was able to accommodate a very large group. We were able to bring our own beer and food which helped tremendously. The place is in serious need of some updates and a good thorough cleaning. But the Whitley ball was fun and so was the laser tag. My germophobia was in high power all night, but otherwise, we had a really good time.

I’ll be first to admit I was a bit skeptical when I first heard about whirly ball and how much fun it supposedly is, and even so more when we finally showed up to the facility. It’s a bit run down and could definitely use a make over. Old vintage arcade games, and apparently they also have a laser tag. $ 149 an hour seems pretty steep because time sure does fly by fast, but it comes out to like $ 15 a person if you come with a group of 10. Think bumper car meets lacrosse. Needless to say, I had a blast playing amongst my family. The steering is a bit challenging to maneuver which I believe makes the game that much better, it’s easy to get stuck in the corner trying to figure out how to get yourself out of a pickle. There’s a referee who keeps score and even adds a little color commentary. An hour goes by pretty quick and we found ourselves wanting to play another round, but unfortunately there were other parties waiting. It’s definitely worth it if you have a party of 10.

Immediately when you walk in you’re hit with the smell of burning rubber which I assume comes from the bumper cars. I’m incredibly sensitive to smells so it’s not the best and gives me an instant headache.
I’ve played on two separate courts and the one in the back on the left was the one used this time. It had so many issues causes many of our games to be stopped in the middle in order to make repairs. Repairs that held up for a few games only to require more mending. Certain parts of the floor would come loose or come up entirely causing workers to come with a power screw driver.
You see active sparks flying from the bottom of the bumper cars which I don’t know if that’s normal but that caused the terrible smell.
I had little interaction so I’m not sure how the service us. I don’t know of any other places that offer whirlyball so this does the job enough.

Whirlyball is a very fun game. I’ve played in many different locations. This location is horrible. To play isn’t a cheap experience although I’m not complaining about price. The problem is this facility does not keep up the place. The cars are very slow and the floor has dead spots. The floor is supposed to be flat but was broken so there was a huge bump you would get stuck on. The cars wouldn’t move and you had to spend your time bumping your teammates to get them to move again. This is a waste of your money since you pay for time. I would suggest finding another location because they don’t seem to care and every time we would complain they would say, «we will take care of it so it will be better next time». Now three years later they haven’t changed a thing and it’s getting worse. I will never go to that one again.

My friend and I had a joint birthday party here last night. Whirlyball is a enjoyable and a great concept. Our group leaders were also accommodating to the best of their ability and fun. However, the management is incredibly poor in handling customer service. We had a great experience overall until we had to deal with them.
We purchased the VIP package where we were told we’d get unlimited soda, beer tokens and laser tag. We were rushed from one activity to the next so it was hard to enjoy our actual food and beverages. We were told we could take the beer that we didn’t finish to enjoy after we had finished, so we loaded them into our bags and played laser tag. When we returned, we noticed all the beers were missing out of our bags. When we questioned, we were told the managers had gone into our bags and taken them back. This is NOT acceptable. You as a business should never go into anyone’s personal belongings, ever! The GM told us, «he didn’t know if he was going to catch us before leaving, so he had to make sure.» WRONG. That is rude and slimy. We were all compliant adults and he could’ve easily talked to us instead of use his «past experiences» to invade our personal belongings. With this said, nothing was done to accommodate our frustrations which again displays poor customer service, which may be why they were so dead on a Friday night.
It wasn’t the beer that we were actually upset about– we’re all working adults and can afford it, it was the way it was handled and lack of care for the customer when a complaint is being given. A GM should never tell a patron, «There is nothing I can do» in a situation like this when you were the specific party that wronged your client. In that high of a position, I’d say a big part of your job is to find a solution.
If you choose to get the VIP package with unlimited soda, beer, laser tag and tokens, get all clarification.

Hosted an adult-​aged birthday party here and signed up for 1 hour of whirly ball for 15 people, 15 min laser tag and tokens. In addition, got their drink package $ 7 each person «all you can» drink from their provided selection of beer and wine. Total = $ 300
Whirlyball is a fun game with it being a mix up of basketball & lacrosse on bumper cars. Laser tag arena is two floors. The regular staff is overall friendly, pleasant, and helpful. Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) is the main game attraction. The environment is a bit run down and dated making you feel like you stepped back into the 90’s.
The drink package is flawed along with their poor selection of beverages. You are rushed into choosing whether to play whirlyball because you paid for it by the minute, drink because you paid for «all that you can», or eat because you paid the fee to bring outside food. After the game is over you can pay an extra $ 40 to stay in the room with your food and drinks or move out. (We were the ONLY party their that whole Friday night.) The general manager is VERY rude with poor customer service. I WOULD NOT recommend hosting a party here. To avoid a bad time come to play whirlyball and leave to eat and drink elsewhere!

Great fun, never thought of this how creative great place to hang out with the kids

Whirlyball is so freakin fun! It’s like a hybrid between bumper cars and lacrosse. I remember coming here during high school, and it’s still exactly the same. I usually try to come around once a year since it’s a great activity for large groups.
The most recent time I came was for a birthday party consisting of ~25 people. I’m not sure how my friends managed to get such an amazing deal, but it ended up being $ 17/​person for 1.5 hrs of whirlyball, a game of laser tag, some game tokens, and unlimited alcoholic and non-​alcoholic beverages.
The unlimited drinks consisted of a giant cooler filled with crappy beer and tiny bottles of wine, plus access to their non-​alcoholic drink fridge at the front desk. Not a great selection, but we were perfectly happy with mixing wine and grape juice.
For whirlyball, two teams of 5 can play on a court at once. An employee refs the games, but otherwise, we’re just let loose. The cars are pretty hard to control, but that definitely adds to the fun. But in general, the rules are simple, and the game is really fun. And depending on the friends you’re with, games can get pretty heated!
The arcade games are very limited and dated. There’s an air hockey table, two basketball games, and a few others. Laser tag was really basic as well. The equipment works fine, and they have a 2-​story arena, but it doesn’t have any bases/​bonuses/​targets. You only get points by shooting members of the opposite team. I personally really hate laser tag, so I was kind of glad their arena wasn’t too complicated.
In general, this place looks pretty run-​down, but the employees are pretty nice and whirlyball is always a blast!

My dude brought me along for a company private party. It was awkward for a bit, because I am a bit awkward. After milling around weirdly for a few minutes, it was my turn to join a round of Whirlyball.
Once we got in our bumper cars, everything was all about the friendly competition. If you haven’t played Whirlyball before, it’s lacrosse meets bumper cars that are electrically powered by the floor.
The only bummer was that there are some «dead spots» on the floor where the electricity doesn’t properly work, so if you hit one, you’re stuck until someone comes to rescue you with a bump. It slows gameplay quite a bit :(

I’ve always loved coming to this place since I was a kid, and it’s still fun as an adult. I used to come here when I was in middle school and came again for a work party during my internship a few years back
Really unique and fun concept with whirlyball– I had a blast! The more people, the better it is.
The multi-​level laser tag here is also equally impressive. This place as a whole is a bit dated– could use a remodel perhaps, but it still has the fun factor and that’s why it’s been around for so long!

Our team at work wanted to get together for a team building event. We all decided on whirlyball.
Getting a reservation is rather difficult though. Be sure to call weeks ahead scheduling your event. The staff at Whirlyball Laserwhirld were very helpful on the phone and in person.
We arrived a bit late. If you show up late you just lose out on your time. They coudn’t move our time back because they had another group after us.
We reserved an hour and a half for whirlyball. That gave us about 7 games total. Each game is about 20ish minutes. We had about 10 guys play.
Once we arrived, our host went over the rules and procedures and saftey issues. One huge one is that you can’t slash your oppenents with the lacross hook majig. If you do she’d add two points to the opponent. That did happen a couple times.
Our host was very nice and was referee as well. She provided some fun commentary as well; making fun of some of our guys who couldn’t score when they were right in front of the scoreboard.
Overall, we all seemed to love the event and had a super awesome time. Can’t wait to come back.

My job had our ‘team building day’ here, and everyone loved it. It was a little pricey, and you can’t bring in outside food or drinks without paying $ 5.00 per person. Whirlyball was a blast. Once you played your first round, and learned how to properly operate everything, it was great. I too have a large bruise on my knee from being hit pretty hard and hitting the steering stick. Afterwards, our group played Lasertag, which was also a huge hit. Not only do you get to play, you get to watch the other teams and laugh at them. Max was our group leader the entire day and she was great. She was very funny, explained everything and was sweet. I would take my son back for his next birthday party.

Been to this several times with groups and every time it’s a blast. Even if you’ve never played it before you can pick it up pretty quick. It’s basically a combination of bumper cars and lacrosse. Great for adults or kids. Never seen another place like it.

We were just looking around because we were already in the plaza. We asked an employee some questions about pricing and such. You would have thought we were somehow interrupting something important in her day given the disinterest she had in answering anything. She did manage to tell us rather abruptly that the game required a minimum of six participants, so I guess our family of four will not be visiting here.

My husband and I recently attended a birthday party at this location. We had never played whirlyball before and we couldn’t wrap our minds around the concept.
However, once we started playing we couldn’t sget enough of it! It is a combination between bumper cars and lacrosse. But it is fun and addicting. They have five minute games and they go by fairly quick.
My only complaint is that certain cars in the enclosure do not work properly. If they could fix that it would be five stars!

I’ve now been here for two bachelor parties and I’ll have to say it is a lot of fun. It’s not just for kids and for those of you adults who don’t think you’ll fit in the cars, I’m 6’2″ and I fit just fine. You do have to fold yourself up a little but it’s not awkward or uncomfortable.
The game is Whirlyball which is played like basketball — you’re trying to get a ball in a goal on either side. You’re in a bumper car and you have a scoop that you use to handle the wiffle ball. If you shoot the ball from behind the 3 point line into the center of the goal, you get 3 points. In the center of the goal from in front of the 3 point line, 2 points. And any ball that hits the backboard is 1 point.
They say that you could get hurt from the voltage by touching the floor. This would only be true under very VERY specific circumstances. Others will say that the voltage is not what kills you, it’s the current. That is also true, however, it takes a threshold voltage to even generate the potential current that will kill you. These bumper cars are probably 90VDC which, if you were to short one plate to the other, let’s say with your wedding ring, would probably react in a pretty spectacular spark and probably a pretty good burn if it were on a finger.

The Plano location serve beer/​wine (boo!), but the other one does.
This is great for a big group, get together or to start a night.
The Bad: If your car is slow as heck or busted.
