A few months ago while driving in Hialeah, a sign advertising subs for $ 2.99 caught my eye, and I noticed the name. When I did a search for the place after I got home, I noticed they have a location right down the street from me. I finally checked this place out today and I’m glad I did. The $ 2.99 sub is the American Cold Cut, which consists of ham, salami, and cheese. You might not expect much for the price, but the amount of meat they give you is comparable to what you’d get at Subway for 2 bucks more. The sub was put together very well, and they didn’t skimp on the veggies. Service was fast and very friendly. I’m looking forward to going back and trying other subs for sure. Don’t sleep on this place.

First time I went was great. Second and third, was OK. Their Subs are losing quality, their fries are still great.

You must visit Substantial Subs if you are in the area as they offer so many different sub and salad options for every taste! I go for the lunch special mostly which includes a ½ sub (pick one: turkey, roast beef, ham, some others), a choice of a huge portion of delicious fries or chips and a drink for an even $ 5. The turkey is really juicy and their condiments are plentiful! I especially like their pickles as they dice them finely! The staff is extremely efficient and understand that you are there to get in and out with a quality product!

Solid sandwich place. Good hot and cold sandwiches. Newly added flat-​top grill and deep-​fryer means great steak subs and fries. They have a good ½ cold sub, generous serving of fries, and drink special for under five bucks. Try the Italian Cold Cut sub with fries.
