You’re on your own when you go here. I have been to this location twice now. Service is just okay, and the employees seem pretty clueless. They had no advice to offer about any of the cheese courses. The wine selection is disappointing; one employee even pronounces«Merlot» as «mer-LAHT». Fine when coming from a Walmart employee, not so fine at a wine and cheese shop. A knowledgeable staff would make this place a great experience. Right now it’s more like a glorified Subway.

I ate here for the first time a couple nights ago. I loved the chicken salad sandwich(#11), and my friend’s English greens salad looked amazing. The almond cake was also delicious. Service was a little iffy – the girl at the counter forgot my bottled water and the almond cake, and she seemed impatient with my friend, who had a little trouble making up her mind(she is currently traumatized by a personal tragedy and is not thinking clearly). As others have noted, I think the younger staff need training in customer service. Nevertheless, the food was fabulous. The following two nights I tried a different Cheese Course in Coral Springs, but the food there was nowhere near as good as the food in Plantation. The chicken salad sandwich in Coral Springs was missing the apple bits and pine nuts. And even though I ordered a full salad for my husband, there was hardly any salad in the to-go container. The Plantation location serves twice the salad(maybe it’s a takeout versus eat-in thing).

I grew up in Weston and frequented The Cheese Course there with my family almost weekly. I just bought a house in Plantation, and was thrilled to see there is a Cheese Course down the street from me on University! Everything you try there is amazing. My favorites are the goat cheese salad, basil pesto(I order it by the tub and take home) and the Vermont cheddar grilled cheese on baguette. Pair your meal with a glass of wine, and you’d think you died and went to heaven. Love this place!

Well my day of shopping came to a screeching halt when I saw the name of the restaurant, The Cheese Course. As you might guess cheese is my weakness. I can say I enjoyed my escapade. This place has sandwiches, salads, soups and of course, the cheese course where you can choose a generous two ounces of each cheese for $ 6.45 each. The quality of the cheese did not disappoint. This is served with a French baguette and fresh grapes you can add a meat for $ 5.95 and an accompaniment such as honey, fruit chutney, olives etc. for a $ 1.00 each. Pair it with a wine for $ 5.99. The shop is on a corner with lots of window light and you can choose to sit outside too. A couple of things I would change is serve the bread warm, even though it was fresh. Automatically offer butter and change the wine glasses which was more like a water goblet. One orders at the counter then the meals are delivered to your table. Would love to come back and try more of their selection.

In town on business and went to lunch with my business partners. At first, I had a vision of cheese/meat platters only but was pleasantly surprised by all of the many different salad/sandwich choice. I had a field green salad with a Dijon Vinaigrette dressing and added grilled chicken for protein. The salad had dried cranberries and goat cheese – It was delicious! I also got a small container of Marcona Almonds(I’ve recently become a huge fan – they didn’t disappoint either)!! A+

I absolutely love the cheese courses. It is a little overwhelming to choose them yourself though, especially because none of the cheeses are labeled in their case and the employees often didn’t know what the cheeses were themselves. For those reasons alone I gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Looks can be deceiving… To be fair, the cheeses and soups were good. But anything with fresh produce was very disappointing. The lettuce included with the cheese board and the lettuce in my salad were very wilted and many parts gone bad entirely(black and mushy), likewise with the included grapes. The Cheese melt sandwich was decent, much improved with the pesto sauce. The tomato bisque and asiago bisque were excellent, though small portions. I got a cappuccino as well, and it was a little to burnt for my taste. Importantly, the staff was not very knowledgeable(couldn’t answer basic questions). Overall, I would suggest if you eat here to stick to the cheese boards and not salads/sandwiches.

Place used to be good but is now a rip off. Paid $ 30 for what amounts to half a cup of soup they market as a bowl, and a half a sandwich with a few cheese shavings. In the beginning they had high quality products with decent sized portions. Now they have gone cheap on everything, portions are laughable. Not returning. Save your money and just buy your cheese at the local grocery store.

I normally love the cheese course and would give it 5 stars. We love purchasing different cheese there, as well as eating. However, the sandwiches were not good on this night. I noticed there wasn’t an employee that looked older than a teenager. That may have been the issue. I literally threw away $ 40 in food because it was just thrown together like crap. We will still buy cheese here, but will look for adult management before ever sitting down for another meal. 1÷7− management reached out and we are very impressed by that. We will certainly be back. Thank you.

This place could be so much more, but is limited by what I perceive as mostly a management challenge. Here’s what to like: great cheese selection, nice menu of sandwiches and cheese boards, wine and beer available, counter service. Here’s what needs fixing(sorry, it’s a list): — Food temperature is inconsistent from one visit to the next, probably because the place is an icebox. Assuming the temperature inside needs to be low because of the cheese selection, a quick fix is for the staff to prepare the hot portion of an order(i.e., soup) last. — Before you order beer, note it can be outrageously expensive, more than the meal. Ask for the price, which may not be listed. Even on a plane, beer can be half the price. — I realize this is the corporate mandate, but gosh, do I hate those metal chairs! — Some staffers who have worked there for a long time so clearly hate their jobs, customers, or both. I’ve noticed the good ones don’t stay. I can only imagine this can’t be a great place to work or the culture fostered is not favorable to providing great customer service. Have you ever noticed that some of the older folks who work at that global coffee chain seem to stay there forever? Or how the staff at the local supermarket around the corner from The Cheese Course walks you over to the aisle when you ask them where you can find umbrellas? That’s not a coincidence — they hire happy people and foster a great culture to make their employees spread the joy. Fix it! Fix it! Fix it!

Eh, the bread was good the sandwich was tasty. A bit cold atmosphere. I wouldn’t completely ignore this place. I need to come back and try some of the actual cheese plates.

Tried it out for the first time, the staff wasn’t terribly friendly and the water tasted bad. The food was delicious! Would definitely eat here again!

Love this place! Yes a little pricey but so worth it. Their platters with cheese & fruit are beautiful & tasty. Nice place to meet a friend for lunch and catch up over some quick bites & wine or beer. Their mushroom soup was to die for!

Came in at about lunch time, wasn’t too crowded so I got my food in an appropriate amount of time. The cheese-tasting display was delicious as always. I ordered my usual: American Field Greens Salad topped with tuna & a cup of the tomato soup. My boyfriend got the Beefsteak Salad. Both were delicious! The only downside was that the Beefsteak Salad was smaller than we expected; it was more like a sandwich than a salad. Reason why I give it four stars instead of five is because their staff is rather slow. I’ve been to this location multiple times and each time I’ve had a problem with the service quality of the employees. Don’t get me wrong they are very polite, it’s just as if they have something better to do with their time; they are very forgetful. Today I placed a take out order while I was eating and it never came out. When I went up to the cashier I placed the order with he had no recollection that I even placed the order 10 minutes ago with him. In addition to that I had to awkwardly stand waiting for him to finish making a pot of coffee before even acknowledging me. Then after an awkward few seconds of silence he finally realized there was a huge take out bag right next to him with my name written on it.

Cute place, but I am not impressed, I have been here several times for lunch with work friends and I am always left feeling that I paid to much, the food is ok to good, but i find it to be overly priced. I like the Prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich served on either white or wheat baguette, the bread is fresh and the sandwich itself is pretty tasty but I don’t think its worth $ 10+ since its a small sandwich served on a plate with no garnish or side, even a small side of greens would make it more appealing. This location is small, service at the ordering counter is friendly but the kitchen tends to be slow and not consistent, I have been there at times where a group of us ordered at the same time and only half of us received lunch while the other half were still waiting even as we were already done. I love everything cheese, but the Cheese Course portions, unappealing plates and overly marked up prices just doesn’t do it for me.

What??? Me giving my favorite cheese and sandwich shop a one star??? Let’s begin with I started going to Cheese Course in Weston at their very first location over 10 years ago. I worked across the street and have been a huge fan of them forever!!! I was thrilled to see them growing and opening up so many locations. I think I have been to every location except one. Last night my daughter and I walk into this location to place an order to go. The cashier was very friendly. This location is a little on the small side but they are very consistent with their branding. Marketing, and décor. They had a sample of Camberet cheese so I decided to purchase some. There was about three other customers when we arrived. So we wait for our food while inquiring about prices on some of the cheese. So yes I’m still shopping as we are waiting for our order. As we wait and wait and wait I hear the employees in the back laughing, joking, and not obviously working. It took around 30 minutes if not longer to get our order. I had spent over $ 60 and when the lady came out with my bag I asked if our soup was in the bag. She looks appalled and says yes yes everything is in the bag and walks quickly to the back. I knew my order was NOT complete. I notice that I’m missing a baguette and side of tomato pesto that I paid for. I walk to the counter and had to get her attention. She’s like oh ok let me grab the baguette. No apology then I tell her I’m missing the pesto. This is when I got really irritated she rolls her eyes and says it’s in the bag I put it in there. Ok so for the third time I start digging in the bag thinking I might have missed it. Nope it was NOT there. All of a sudden she comes around out of the back again no apology and says oh here it is and hands me the pesto. Ok so we get home to eat. We had ordered two bowls of loaded potato soup. It was chilly outside and we were excited to have soup. We could not believe the size we were given, it clearly was a small cup not a bowl! When you pay for a bowl you expect to get a bowl not a cup! Then the soup had no flavor at all. One of the worst soups I ever tasted. Could not even eat it. Only good thing that saved our dinner was the sandwiches were good. I remember the owner and original manager Tracey who is awesome. Please I beg you fix this location! I will give it one more try but if I have another experience like last night you will have lost a very loyal long term customer. So disappointed :(

I’m a huge fan of the Cheese Course. I love a quick bite to eat that involves cheese! I’d love to give 4 stars because yes, I’m a fan(as stated 3 seconds ago) and I do keep coming back. My last visit here I’d probably roll down to 3 stars however just for wait time. There was one table in here already eating and us but that’s it — empty restaurant yet we waited what seemed to be a very long time to get our food. How long can a caprese salad and a cheese plate take? It seemed as though the staff in the back was too busy gossiping and not fully focused. Yes I’ll let it slide, and probably the next time I’m in here it will be packed and I won’t notice the long wait time. However, I’ll give some other thought to places in the Fountains now before making this my first choice.

This is one of my favorite go-to lunch spots on the weekends. It has a nice outdoor seating area and smaller inside dining area. I love the food here. The salads are great which fresh lettuce and nice size portions. Normally I get the chicken sandwich on a wheat baguette or the chicken salad sandwich. The iced tea is to die for. The kitchen is sort of an open kitchen concept which makes me feel better because I can actually see what’s going on in the kitchen. The downsides of this place are: 1. It takes awhile to get your food. I love that everything is made fresh you can definitely taste that when you eat it, however, it will be a good 20 before you get your meal. 2. The indoor seating/ordering area not ideal. The ordering station is in the center so when you sit along the wall people are standing on top of you while you’re eating. And the menu is on the wall so you feel like everyone is staring at you while you take a bite of your meal. It’s a nice alternative in the area if you don’t want a burger or a burrito. To me, hands down it’s the best spot in that area. I have never been let down and I don’t think I ever will.
