After working in a fine dining Italian restaurant, my expectations for Italian food has risen to the top. Now I’ve been to the Vigneto’s in Weston(Sunrise, whatever) but never knew they had another one in Plantation. It’s sorta hidden in a plaza on S University Drive. This location looks like it’s been recently renovated & I couldn’t believe how clean the whole place is! They have a huge wine selection as you’ll notice on the back of the menu & in the coolers in the back of the restaurant. They do have a full bar too. I got the Pasta Carbonara for $ 10 which was really good but once I tried my boyfriend’s Chicken Marsala(slightly different from the Chicken Boca they have on the menu), it was game over. We both agreed that was the best Marsala we’ve ever had. Our bill was only $ 26, couldn’t be anymore perfect. Would highly recommend to any fans of real Italian food, even the picky ones.

Great food, great service and a fun atmosphere. We came here on a Thursday night and the place was packed. We had a party of 6 so it was about a 30 minute wait and we decided to hang out at the bar until our table was ready. I felt the drinks could have been a bit stronger. My vodka soda was more soda than vodka. But other than that I loved it here. I ordered the Chicken Scappa which had sausage, mushrooms, onions, olives, pepperonchini and balsamic. Delicious! I also tried a bite of someone’s Penne a la Vodka with shrimp and it was really good. I highly recommend you stop in!

Highly recommended. If you like steak and seafood this is the place! Service is 5 star and quality of ingredients is superb. I have been there on several occasions and had the veal, gnocchi, and chicken parm. All excellent. Plus its conveniently located within walking distance of my condo. Not only does it have some of the best Italian food, the steaks are to die for. My wife loves the filet, a 10oz portion is so tender and more than enough. I tried the Cowboy bone in rib eye… It. Was awesome.

Stayed at the hard rock and needed some good Italian. As New Yorkers we are extremely picky when it comes to itallian. Read a lot of the positive reviews and… Wow exactly as advertised. Great calamari Eggplant stack was a meal In itself. Wife had pene alavodka and veal for me Food was amazing and now we have to go back to hotel to nap it off! Lol. This is a must stop for us from now on in south Florida.

First of all I am on vacation from cold Colorado. I was craving seafood and Italian. Stop in after a long(traffic) day from Key Largo. Starting with the cons– I am a mom, walked in and asked for the bathroom to change my babies diaper. They don’t have any changing tables, so I had to change him outside when it was raining and humid on there sofa outside. Not too bad. That’s it for the cons. The food was absolutely amazing! For 3 of us– a bottle of wine $ 302 appetizers 3 entrees and 1 dessert was only $ 125. Pricing is great. The service was awesome too! Highly recommend but not for kids. I have a one year old. Maybe for older kids. Thanks for the great experience.

I’ve been coming here for probably over 7 years, not to just this location but to the others also. They have asiago filled gnocchis which are some of the best things you’ll ever have in your life. All of the food is top notch. It’s always a great meal whenever I come to this place, it’s one of the best Italian places around by far.

I’m ashamed to admit I ordered the chicken parmigiana. But I reasoned if a place can’t get the basics down, what’s the point in trying something more ornate? And it was stupendous to eat a healthy — but not gluttonous — chicken filet amidst old retired New Yorkers complaining about politics and worrying about taxes. That is a genuine South Florida experience. The spaghetti paired with the chicken was delicate and again not trying to fatten me up. The portion was just right. And the entire base marinara was gently cooked — the acidity was well controlled meaning very little oil was needed in its preparation. And the cannoli was, well… filled with dense thick cream peppered with chocolate chips, I like to think of it as «extraordinary». I don’t use that word often, and especially not for deserts. It was not overwhelmingly decadent, where someone would be getting a sugar rush instantaneously. It is goldilocks approved. I suppose this is how Italian American cuisine is supposed to be? I only knock off one star for the disappointing Pinot Noir. True I should have paired my meal with something stronger, but even on its own it was a mediocre glass that cheapened my experience.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants. We use to visit the old one, and fell in love with the food. The food remains to be consistent and delicious.

2÷13÷16 — DINNER Heard this place was good from a few people but never tried it even though I get my nails done at the same plaza. So, when my friend asked me to find an Italian place to carb-load prior a running race we had the next day, I decided on Vignetos. I just walked in and asked if they had a table. It is a beautiful restaurant with a nice bar area and plenty of seating. It was really packed so I was surprised when they had a table available. The waiter came by and I ordered waters until my friend arrived. They brought over warm bread… I had to have a piece… or two. So good. When my friend arrived, we looked over the menu while the waiter explained the specials. I decided on the RIGATONIBOLOGNESE, lighter portion($ 10) and my friend decided on the PENNESOLEMIO, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, chicken($ 16) regular portion. One of the BEST Rigatoni’s I’ve had. Wonderful service, the staff seemed to work very well together. Food was delicious and fresh. I would love to come back and try some of their specials or just stop by the bar for a glass of vino.

This is our go to restaurant for authentic Italian food! The bartender shakes a fabulous martini and the shivalata never disappoints. Veal was very tender. The bolognese is hands down my favorite macaroni dish. I am constantly complaining that restaurants use way to much salt but that is not the case here. Just delicious freshly prepared dishes done right !

Amazing. Simply Amazing. Great food. Great service. The atmosphere is great. I really wish I had something bad to say. If you want something not on the menu ask them to make you the Rockstar Pasta. While we were there, we met the owners and one of them created that dish. It’s heaven. You have to try it. Perfect AL dente pasta with sausage, peppers and spices. Great gravy. I can’t wait to go back.

Nice local place to get a nice steak. Amazing staff and the food was delicious. Nice little date night with the hubby. He was disappointed they were out of the rib eye but other than that everything was delicious. We had the New York strip & Joe’s pasta.

Something old is new again… Vigneto’s Italian Restaurant, a favorite of my family’s for several years, re-opened with a whole new design. We love the modern, spankin’ new restaurant. Frosted glass panels with famous Italian scenes separate two dining rooms and a cool looking bar and compliment the black stone walls near the authentic brick oven. The fresh bread is served hot and I love the clean, easy to read laminated menus which still feature some of our favorite dishes. We started with eggplant caponata flatbread, a new item which could double as a small pizza. Liked the chunks of eggplant, not too heavy on the tomato sauce(or gravy to some people) although I would have liked just a bit more garlic. You might want to think of Vigneto’s when you want to get pizza for take out — you can expect it to be fresh and both the white pizza & pesto pizzas($ 12) sound delicious. The fresh fish, snapper picata was a bit pricey($ 29) compared to the chicken picata($ 16) but servings are generous and come with pasta or vegetables. There are more salads than previously offered, my favorite is arugala with shaved parmigian cheese and other favorite starters of ours are the fried calamari and the eggplant stack. There are a number of classic pasta dishes, lasagna & eggplant parmigian have always been consistently satisfying. I try to notice the variety in the pasta and eggplant dishes for my vegetarian friends. Those who enjoy meat will find a number of choices along with enough classic Italian veal dishes so everyone in the family will find something they like. The double espresso was served steaming hot — perhaps that’s due to new equipment & a decadent chocolate martini served as dessert. The neon lit, full service bar area will lend itself to a good place for happy hour or late night cocktails. They only accept reservations for groups larger than 6 which is a hassle because you’ll definitely wait and wait for a table on weekends.

Huge portions, you will leave stuffed… between the free appetizer bread, a shared appetizer and an entrée, you will not leave hungry. The small calamari appetizer was a good size for 3 – 4 people to share. Its breaded and fried and came with lemon and marinara. I’d get this again. For the main course, I had the veal Saltimbocca and for the record i love me some veal, proscuitto and melted cheese. The dish gave you the option of any of their pastas or the vegetable of the day. I opted for the not-too-exciting broccoli and string beans. The veal was awesome, tender, moist and covered in mushrooms and marsala sauce. I wish I could review a desert in this area but I was stuffed(in a good way).

This food here is really good and service is great. It is a little pricey for Italian food though. Not sure that I would put it at two $‘s. We really have had nothing bad here though. Such a great menu with so many choices. Yum!!!

I had dinner here with my Dad and his girlfriend last February. They took me back here tonight. I was not impressed on my first visit here and I was still not impressed on my second visit tonight. The room is crowded and noisy. Not the place to come for conversation. The waitstaff was not as attentive as I would like. I had the veal parmigiana and while the veal was just OK the spaghetti was way over cooked. Was like eating soup noodles with red sauce. I also had requested light on the sauce and that request was ignored the pasta was loaded with too much sauce. Like eating tomato soup with noodles. I told my dad that I thought the other Italian place he took me too, Jacaranda Pizzeria had much better food. But heck I’m not paying so I’ll go where I’m taken. But if I had my choice I’d go to Jacaranda Pizza. I’ll let you decide which one you like best.

What a great find! We had no intentions on coming here it was just close by and we were hungry! The restaurant is very nice and dark and the service is excellent. Pablo our server was very attentive and friendly. The food was remarkable! And the prices great! I was very shocked at the lunch portion because it was enough for two! My Pesto Pasta w/Italian Sausage was delicious! I couldn’t even finish it. The Chicken Francese was equally delicious and just as generous. I will definitely return and recommend for some delicious authentic Italian food! Italian food should always be affordable and plentiful!

Great suburb restaurant, when you want to go out without heading all the way to FTL or MIA. The restaurant is newly remodeled and looks very nice and modern. The pasta is good but the wine selection is a little limited or overpriced. The gnocchi were too soft but the sauce was pretty good.

This is my second time coming here. The first time I came was about a week ago and it was so outstanding I had to come back a few days later. When I came this young girl was serving our table. She failed to ask if we wanted the small portion and just assumed we wanted the large and didn’t even Apoglize for her mistake as a server. The bread came about 15 minutes late it was burnt all on the bottom. We ordered 2 entrees and we waited for 35 minutes. We asked to talk to the manager and all he said was that lasagna takes about 17 minutes and when we said we waited double the time he just said it will be out soon. As a a manager he was not Apologetic at all but was just focused on watching the football game. This is a fairly new restruant and the management and employees are poorly trained. Never going back to this place ever again.

3.87 If I’m being grossly precise. I came here with a group of girlfriends for a low-key catchup date, and it fit the bill nicely. We have some pretty stringent standards when it comes to picking a dining location, and Vigneto’s met all of our requirements: 1) Free bread — non negotiable 2) Relaxed enough to not have to wear heels, but nice enough to force us out of sweatpants 3) Budget friendly. i.e. under $ 20 a person 5) Good wine list 6) Good food(obviously) Vigneto’s scored big in the free bread category, serving fresh warm loaves with olive oil and«Sicilian Fire» oil for dipping. They give you two loaves in said basket and were very gracious the first four times we asked for a refill. Our waiter, Pauly D. Jr., got visibly persnickety the 5th time around, but still fulfilled our request. And FYI… don’t judge us, I know what you’re thinking. As far as the ambiance goes, Vigneto’s is pretty standard. Not a place I would categorize as an occasion spot, but good for a nice dinner. They pull out the whole dim lighting bit and are definitely more upscale than your neighborhood Italian joint, but at the end of the day you are still in a strip plaza next to a TCBY(not hating, I love tcby). The menu, while not terribly extensive, covered all the standards and then some, and is reasonably priced. I ordered the lighter portion of pene a la vodka with a side Mediterranean salad. The salad was great. It had big chunks of fresh feta — not the nasty packaged stuff — with tomatoes and cucumber, roasted pepper and red onion with fresh balsamic. The pasta was also very tasty and the lighter portion was just right. My bill came to $ 18 and change after tax/tip. Bonus points for having the chocolate mints(not the Olive Garden kind, the hard candy kind) at the door.

Golf Wednesday followed by Wednesday night dinner and we are tired of the Retreads in the area and don’t visit chains. Suggestion by one of my Amigos to try Vignetos just off University Drive in Plantation in the last strip mall before the I595 Interchange. Plenty of Free parking as we enter this full bar — Grill with a basic look modern in design with Bar area to the right and tables in two sections middle and left. Booths and tables are both available as we sit. 4 of us tonight as we peruse this menu that ranges from Pizza, 12 Inch — to «Prime Steaks» quite a leap from a place you would not expect to see Market Price on Steaks. Hot bread and butter is served while a very appropriately priced wine list is looked at. After a nice selection and a couple of glasses, we are off to the races. Note a VERYNICE Pour is provided on glasses for those not wishing to buy the entire bottle with many of their better wines by the glass as well. Arugula Salad topped with fresh Provolone with a mix of olive oil Balsalmic dressing is basic but exactly what you want if that is your thing. All Fresh and Ice Cold & well worth the $ 5.00 price tag. A Shrimp Oreganato with fresh garlic lemon & Bread Crumb $ 14.00 large shrimp fresh and flavorful. OKHOLDTIGHT… we all see Steaks go rolling by and they look outrageous so we are about to take a plunge in a place to order pizza and go for the«PRIMESTEAK» Nothing to say here but the Flavor, Texture, coating, and quality and taste was beyond any imagination or expectation for this place. all about $ 50.00 Each comes with side of Steak Fries, Rissotto, Vegetable or pasta. NY Strip Thick Juicy — Top 3 Steaks of All Time Cowboy Ribeye had my buddy’s mouth watering Veal Chop hanging off the bone was so good I don’t know where to start 1 Non steak was pasta Ala Vodka $ 15.00 which was rich and creamy and excellent No coffee or desert tonight but there are not enough Superlatives in this dictionary to describe the wonderful dining experience we had here last night. .Hope they can repeat it if so this will be come a regular stop for all of us.

So this hidden gem has been behind my home this entire time and I didn’t even know of it. I had come across it a few times the past years on Unilocal but when I would visit the old IHOP, this place looked very dark and run down. Let me tell you– the renovation helped this business tremendously! From the exterior to interior, everything looks top notch. A+ for being one of the many things I don’t have to drive to. There is a parking lot in front but if its packed, oh which it is on the weekends, there is hidden spots in the back. I have had most waiters in this restaurant but by far, best waiter is Pablo. When I couldn’t remember his name, the hostess said«you are probably looking for Pablo, everyone comes here to sit in his section». Nonetheless, the place was empty except his section! Wait staff here is great, I never wait for a refill, bread is warm and extra bread is given if you please, and food arrives in a timely matter. There is a large bar to the left upon entry that gets packed on the weekdays– FYI. Chicken Parm is my favorite from here. The marinara sauce they use is just perfection. It tastes homemade! Cheese melted right on top of a large piece of chicken– heaven. It brings a side of pasta but NOTE! if you pay $ 1 more, you can get penne ala vodka. My boyfriend goes for the large portion of Penne ala vodka which I am thankful for so he can stay off my plate. I usually come on the weekdays around 7 – 8 and there is no wait time. We tried this past Friday and there was a 45 minute wait so I guess this place is the place to eat on weekend nights! There is outdoor patio furniture in front that I usually see people mingling on and enjoying a cigarette or two. I want to come back and enjoy the bar area one of these days. I do-however– wish the bathrooms had more than one sink. Two would have been more reasonable, I don’t think there should be a line to wash your hands. I highly recommend coming here, I don’t know of any other place in Plantation serving this quality of Italian food.

First time to this location located in a nice shopping center with plenty of parking. The restaurant décor is quite simple. This is a perfect spot for a very casual Italian feast. Our server was ok, she seemed to be focused on something else other than taking care of her tables. We started with the Calamari and a bottle of Chianti. The Calamari was very good, lightly battered, crisp and fresh with good marinara sauce. The dishes we had were Rigatoni Bolognese, Chicken Francais, and Yellow Tail. Every dish was fine just nothing out of the ordinary. This is good casual Italian food. Prices are average, and service can be slow. For a quick bite with decent food give them a try. Nothing blew me away about the various dishes. It really reminded me of a chain type Italian restaurant.

This was my first time at Vigneto’s since the restaurant moved into its larger, spruced up location. The place is much more aesthetically pleasing now and there is a much greater chance of getting in at prime times without a wait. This is a locally owned establishment… not a chain. It is not a pizza joint or a fancy place… just a nice, pleasant, sit down Italian restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient. Drinks were quickly refilled. I just wish I liked the food better! We started with an Eggplant Flatbread($ 8). This was basically an Eggplant Pizza without cheese. I am not used to flatbreads being made with regular pizza dough. It was not terrible but not great either. I just kept thinking that it needed some mozzarella cheese! I ordered the Chicken Ciccio($ 16) with red sauce, artichokes, spinach, mushrooms, & cheese. I rarely order chicken breasts in restaurants because I often find them to be flavorless and dry. These chicken breasts were no exception. The toppings were actually good. The veggies were fresh. However, overall the dish did not work because the chicken breasts were not tender and flavorful. The boys were content with their Gnocchi dishes. I tasted both of them and they were acceptable to me but not wonderful. Husband loved his Eggplant Parmesan($ 15). On a recent visit he had the Catch of the Day and loved it, although it was a bit pricey at over $ 30. Since there are so many chains in the neighborhood(especially Italian), I really do appreciate the locally owned places. Therefore, although I was not blown away by the food, I’m sure we will be giving Vigneto’s another shot sometime in the future.
