Fulk’s Tree Farm

If you’re looking for a place to cut down a Christmas tree, I highly recommend Fulk’s Tree Farm. They are located on a beautiful, rolling plot of land and have a large selection of trees from which to choose. According to their website, they sell white pines, scotch pines, douglas firs, frasier firs, and noble firs, and they come in all shapes and sizes. The prices are very reasonable as well. We visited on the first weekend in December, and the majority of their selection had already been picked over, but we still found a perfect tree for our home, and we received friendly service from everyone working there. After picking out our tree, someone met us in the field to carry it back to the barn, they shook it free of all the stray branches and needles, and they also put netting on it and helped us get it into our car. To make the experience even better, they also offer free coffee and hot chocolate! We will definitely return next year, but I recommend doing so as close to Thanksgiving as possible. We found out the hard way this year that a bunch of people go the day after Thanksgiving, tag a tree and pay for it then, and return closer to Christmas to actually cut it down. As we were looking around this year, we were constantly disappointed when we’d find a «perfect» tree, only to find that it was red-​tagged with someone else’s name on it. So next year, we’ll be those people, and leave the disappointment to someone else :-)

I took my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday/​get our Christmas tree on a Thursday afternoon and it was perfect. We were the only ones there which made it special and personalized. The owner and his son were friendly and helpful trimming/​shaking/​packing up the tree. There is a gift shop but not over the top. The farm is simple but was perfect for what we were looking for.
