Nothing fancy, simply authentic. The only place in Plattsburgh where you can get tamales and pretty good holiday special dishes. My friends and I have tried the other Mexican paces in the city and this is the only actual Mexican restaurant. Love that the sell Mexican candy too, that’s hard to find around here. Very under rated.

Ok. I guess if your city has no other competition than taco bell, I suppose you would find this amazing. Went in with high expectations based on reviews, ok its a small upstart so to fair the food was fine. I will try again a few other items before making final judgment. I only tried the Asada tacos with rice and refried beans, and an order of salsa with chips. Carne Asada is generally skirt or hangar steak marinated then grilled. Served whole or shredded. This may have been better if not for dicing up the meat afterwards. I believe that’s why it was dried out. 3 Taco consisted of small corn tortillas with diced beef, a pinch of cilantro, and dash of chopped onion. $ 12 The rice was reddish. That’s all it is. Refried beans were tasty and creamy, nicely done. Salsa with chips both homemade Salsa was much better than the chips.$ 7 Total was $ 19. Now that I write this, it does seem as though that is a bit expensive. Nothing really stood out as truly authentic. Not bad but nothing to write home about.

Had some great carnitas and tacos a few nights ago! Great flavor and had that home cooked feeling. :) Only authentic Mexican place in town!

I spotted a Lomeli’s ad in the Adirondack penny saver from last summer and since Mexican food is high up on my favourites list, I actually jotted down the address and made a point of going there for dinner today. It was WAY beyond my expectations! The food is FRESH, plentiful and SO tasty! Nothing was disappointing. My friend and I are both vegetarians so we started with the homemade chips and salsa. We both agreed that we could have simply got chips and salsa to go and had just that. The chips are crisp and tasty on their own, but OMG that salsa! It’s chock-full of fresh tomatoes and avocado, and it’s tangy, thick and absolutely satisfying. Then we both had the bean and cheese burrito. Again with the exclamation marks! They have a large size burrito as well as a «garbage» burrito that is replete with pretty much everything you can put into a burrito but we chose to go with the regular sized meal. THANKGOD! As I mentioned, their portions are BIG and the regular portion was very satisfactory, even to someone with a healthy appetite(like me)! Even as we were washing it all down with a Diet Coke, we were consulting the menu and deciding on what we’re going to have next time! Regarding the place itself, the restaurant is warm, cheerful and very welcoming! Mr. Lomeli(I assume!) explained that they had intended for the restaurant to be mainly a take-out place, but customers tended to want to eat in. No wonder! Price-wise, for two(big) regular-sized burritos, chips, salsa and two Cokes, the bill came out to about $ 20…super cheap for the quantity, but especially the amazing quality, of the food. Run, don’t walk, to Lomeli’s!

We visited the first time on opening day! While service was slow and they were out of most menu items — it was still excellent! The chicken tacos were a bit on the dry side, but still tasted great. The nachos were alright, though it was missing a few ingredients they were out of. The beef taquitos were outstanding and the asada was superb. I especially love the chunky salsa, though it does not come with chips — which I find a bit silly for $ 5. But they give you a free pureed salsa with free chips if you dine in. I’ve been back a few times since and we’ve had almost everything on the basic menu. I highly recommend Lomeli’s. far superior and authentic to the other«Mexican» joint in Plattsburgh.

Simple authentic, just like home made Mexican food should be. Waiting for a place like this for a decade in a town devoid of Mexican. I had the carnitas which was one of the specials, cooked perfectly.
