The food is completely amazing and way different than the typical burger/fried food joints here in town. Each meal is made individually with care and love. The place is small, but still manages to maintain a comfortable environment. Whether you order to stay or for carry out, the quality of the meal does not change. Hands down my favorite food place here. If you go, I highly recommend the crispy chicken.

I’ve eaten both lunch and dinner here and it’s always AWESOME!!! I tend to favor the Asian cuisine(just my preference), but I have tried a couple of German menu items and it is just as good. Possibly my favorite place to go. Small with not a lot of seating but relaxing with very personal attention given to each diner.

Another gem of Plattsmouth. Amazing Pad Thai. I like some heat so I get 3. I’ve had the 4 heat before it was just a tiny bit to hot. I’ve never tried the German b/c I love the pad Thai.

Amazing from start to finish. We ordered spring rolls, pad Thai, and for desert the apple strudel. Everything left us very satisfied. Portions were generous and we both had leftovers to take with us. We will be coming back!

Good food. Modest little café. Crispy Chicken is rather sweet but a nice flavor. A few vegetables with it. The pumpkin soup was good, very thick and flavorful. Love the homemade bread. The Wienerschnitzel is basically a fried pork loin, it was OK but the mushroom sauce moved it up a big notch. The warm Bavarian Potato Salad was excellent. The restaurant was crowded and noisy but we should have expected that on a Friday night. We felt rushed to order and hard to ask questions so we would likely have ordered differently if we came at a more relaxed time. Overall a good experience.

We really, really liked this place. I ordered the panang curry and thought it was just as good as any I’ve ever had, if not better. They let you order the spiciness level to your liking, which I really liked. My husband ordered the sauerbraten and it was delicious! It melted in your mouth. The spaetzel was really good, too as was the red cabbage. We’ll definitely come back. The food was excellent!

Drove from Omaha for lunch, and it was well worth the trip. The food and service was excellent. The atmosphere was also great. I loved the simple design of the menu. I wanted to order it all, but I went with their salmon special. Delicious. We’ll be back again soon. Need to try the German side of the menu. My highest recommendation.

I was skeptical upon my visit to Sisters Café. An actual perfect 5.0 Unilocal rating? German and Thai? In Plattsmouth?! Believe the hype people. This was absolutely one of the best meals I’ve ever had, anywhere. Just to get this out of the way, they are not absolutely perfect. It is on the smaller side(I can’t imagine their capacity is above 50) and it is a small operation, so the initial table service and ordering is not lightning-quick. Think of it as precious extra time that you can spend conversing because once your food arrives there won’t be any talking. And the food arrives fast. Their limited staff means things arrive one plate at a time, each steaming hot and fresh as though it just left the skillet(and honestly it probably just did). Our table sampled from both the Thai and German sides of the menu, and each were equally excellent. The robust, hearty German weinerschnitzel plate was thoughtfully composed and well-balanced and the Thai dishes(crispy chicken and drunken noodles) were complex affairs that impressed at both the lower and higher ends of their spiciness scale. Even the house salad had an impressive variety of greens and perfectly ripe tomato slices to go along with the house vinaigrette and pieces of fruit. I had never had phở before, but I had read about the process of making authentic Thai noodle soup, with the hours of simmering to extract flavors. This was no less than a new experience in food for me. I didn’t know that a soup stock could taste like that. And then the mango and sticky rice for desert put it over the top, Simple yet elegant, and contrasts of both temperature and texture with a simple presentation that understated its own quality. This all may sound like breathless hyperbole and maybe someone more worldly can come along and ruin the fun for everyone else. But for now, go there. You might want to call ahead to reserve a table and it’s a bit of a drive, but it’s absolutely worth it. They don’t just have a great story and a quirky location. Sisters Café is the very best. Go there.

We’ve had this place in our radar for a while to go check out due to the great reviews from coworkers and Unilocal… and I can certainly say that this place really hit the spot for us. The place looks new(renovated) and orderly/clean. Note that we only ordered on the Thai side of the menu. We started off with Fresh Spring Rolls and Tom Kha Gai soup. Both were really good and there is a certain distinct of light lemony taste on the coconut based soup. I would have loved to have more peanut flavor on the Spring rolls sauce, but that’s just my preference. Ordered the Pad Thai(pork) and Thai Fried Rice for our entrée. Opted for the 2&3(out of 5) level of spiciness for both dishes. The fried rice was good but not as good as the Pad Thai – which was really yummy. It was rich, flavorful and very well-prepared. For dessert, we shared the Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango. This really was one of the best treats we’ve had in a while. The mango was sweet and just had the right ripeness and texture. The sticky rice had a great combination of sweetness in the mixture.

What a gem to be found in a Nebraska small town! As an out-of-towner, the very last thing I would have expected to have found in Nebraska was a restaurant that serves one part authentic Thai and one part authentic German food. What was even more awesome was that I was able to go with my grandparents(one who is of German descent) and they were ecstatic to try the dishes offered. The table ordered a mix of Thai and German and we each tried some of each other’s. I ordered the Green Bean with chicken. I spoke to the owner in Thai and she was able to add a fried egg to the top to make it super authentic! The rest of the Thai food ordered was Beef Pad Thai, the Garlic Chicken, and Spring Rolls. After living in Thailand last year, I can say that this is super authentic(especially for Nebraska!) On the German side, we ordered the Sauerbraten special and the Reingoulash. Both were plated beautifully and tasted delicious! The Spätzle were super yummy! To finish we had the Apfelstrudel and Mango Sticky Rice. Both looked awesome on the plate and tasted equally delicious! To top it off, the owners are some of the most friendly people you will ever meet. Even if the food was bad, I would come back the next time just for the extraordinary service. BUT, the food was so delicious and the service so great that this restaurant will definitely be a stop on my next Nebraska trip!

I rarely write reviews. I have been Unilocal’ing for a few years now and I think this is the second review ever! This spot deserves it! Tucked away in the small downtown of Plattsmouth, you would never guess what I just experienced was inside. On a work trip, staying in Lincoln, was looking for German food w a German friend and we stumbled upon this spot on Unilocal. We thought it was kind of a random mix of cuisines, but we like Thai food too and since the other German restaurant was closed, we thought why not! It was so good! The goulash is a must-order!!! My mouth is currently burnt because I couldn’t stop eating it. I ordered the Rouladen, which was yummy and my friend ordered the Weinerschnitzel. The service and homey mom ‘n pop feel makes it was it is, though. Try this place out and you won’t be disappointed :)

This is my first time writing a Unilocal review! This is definitely one of the best little restaurants this summer! I am on a 4 months work road trip all over the Northwest and Midwest and this is one of my Top 3! I am German and it is really rare to find some good homemade German food! We ordered the Gulasch Soup and Egg Roll for appetizers and the soup was delicious! You could tell it was a homemade recipe! We ordered the Wienerschnitzel and the Roladen and it was great! The portions had the right size!

Wonderful Thai/German food restaurant I’ve known. The Thai dishes are very authentic with the spices and the rich flavors. The Green curry was a bomb with all kind of flavors which you can taste inside your mouth. I didn’t try the German food but my friend had it. I gotta say it looked super delicious and I will definitely try next time. Me and my friends were very pleased with the service. Fast, friendly, and helpful. The waitress satisfied all of our needs and recommended the dishes to us. The dessert was quite impressive since we had Mango Sticky Rice. Mango sticky rice came out warm and the rice was soft, the mango was just right to eat. Fatasic place in a nice little town of Nebraska.

Great meal last night at Sisters Café. Loved the casual, upscale feel and Thai meals the four of us ordered. We’ll try the German menu next time.

Here’s why you should trust Unilocal.Where in the world else would we have found out about a fantastic Thai/German place in downtown Plattsmouth, NE? If you’re thinking about going, call ahead and make a reservation. It’s not that big of a place and we saw some folks turn away because the tables were full and there’s no place to wait. The service is good and the owners/staff are very friendly and helpful. We all wanted the Langostino Pad Thai, but our waitress recommended that I order the Crispy Chicken and then we could swap and share. Great call. The Crispy Chicken was fantastic as was the Pad Thai. The four of us talked throughout the meal about how good it all was. We did not try any of the German food, but did see others with it and it looked delicious. Just don’t know if I’ll be able to forgo the Thai food the next time. Highly recommend. Again, what an experience. Drinking German beer and eating Thai food in the middle of an old Nebraska town. Well done Unilocal

This is a wonderful little café tucked away in the nice quiet small town of Plattsmouth just minutes south of Omaha, NE. The food is a combination of German/Thai fare that is sure to please anyone looking for a food experience away from the daily norm. We had the Beef Rouladen with Red Cabbage and Spatzle, Cabbage Roll with Mashed Potatoes and Dill Pickle, the appetizer Satay Chicken, a German beer call Hofbrau heifweizen which was very cold and amazingly smooth. The portions are generous but not extreme. The service is very quick and friendly. The atmosphere is what you’d expect for a small town. Sisters Café lived up to its reputation and did not disappoint. We will definitely be back again.

The Thai menu is limited, which is just fine with me. Too many choices makes me dizzy. The Thai flavoring is complex, full, and fresh. The food was tasty spicy and not overpowering.(2 out of five on the heat scale. Spring rolls were crisp, with a peanut sauce that could have been a touch sweeter. Drunken Noodles. Amazing. Beef Salad with veggies, cilantro and fresh onion is very good. We didn’t get to the German Cuisine as my Pallette always leans to the Far East. Give it a shot, I’m certain you will enjoy the experience.
