Wish I could give negative stars. RUNRUNRUNAWAYFROMTHISGUY. All the other one-star reviews here are consistent with my experience… Lack of communication, impossible to get a hold of, delay after delay after delay, then changes story or outright lies about what the state of repair is, neglects/leaves your vessel exposed to the weather elements and decaying in his yard, the insults just go on and on and on, even after giving him every benefit of the doubt along the way. When I was finally able to get my waverunner from Ritchie after 5 months of BS, he dropped it off without the seat and in shambles. Now I’m at my wits end just trying to get my seat back and get him out of my life. I’m down to taking him to court to retrieve my personal property, and may also consider filing other charges as well as reporting him to the BBB. He has no business being in business. F’n ridiculous. I seriously doubt the authenticity of any of the reviews here that are anything more than 1 star.

Richie is a nice personable guy and I think he knows boat inside and out. However he does not have a very good track record with me in terms of a timely response. I first met Richie two years ago had him work on an outboard motor, a Honda 15 hp. It took me nine months to get the motor back from him. I wasn’t using the motor at the time so it was OK. I referred other people to Richie because I felt he really knew his stuff. I’ve taken another boat to Richie to have work done on it in preparation to sell the boat. That was over six months ago. He had the boat for 2 ½ months. The problem was supposed to be the key switch. He took it to a shop to repair the ignition and I had to go back and pick it back up. He said he had done a bunch of other things to it to get it ready but when I got there items were missing the boat was filled with leaves and no one was around to help me hook it up or go over what was done. Brought the boat back and when I tried to start the boat it wouldn’t run. Spoke with Richie about it and he said he had taken it out for a test ride for over an hour and everything was perfect. He came to where the boat is stored told me what was wrong said he would fix it that was two months ago. Since that time Richie has been somewhat missing in action and difficult to get a response from. If you watch him work he does know what he’s doing, the problem is he’s very scattered in terms of his time commitments and his follow-through. I think if you have Richie work on your boat at your location, he tells you what parts you need, you order them on line and have him install them while you watch you’ll be fine and you’ll get a good job. But if you need something done in a hurry I’m not sure Richie is going to be able to accommodate you, he simply over commits and has difficulty following through.

He gets two stars for the fact i kinda think he cares… He has given me nothing but the straight up run around for a month. I want to buy an engine we agreed and i texted him literally every day sense and its always something and he says ill call you back and never does.

I’ve never met someone so knowledgeable about anything before. Richie knows his stuff and was able to diagnose my boat’s issues within 15 minutes. Very affordable in comparison to other mechanics and not just that — he is super honest. Go figure, an honest mechanic. Humanity has hope

Richie is probably the greatest help in my boating experience so far. He helped me not only decide which boat was best for my money, but helped me diagnose and fix problems over the phone without charging me a penny! He is very knowledgable and I will definitely take my boat to him for any issues I run into in the future. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

I was looking for a local jet ski repair shop, and came across Just in Time. Called Richie and asked if he could take a look at my older Yamaha 1200. It had been sitting idle for a few years, and budget was an issue. He is a mobile marine service but he told me if I brought it in to him it would be less expensive. Drove it over called me the next day with what had to be done. Did the work quickly, showed me what parts he replaced, and it’s been running like new ever since. If you want a honest fair priced watercraft mechanic Richie’s your guy!

I called Richie on Tuesday. He didn’t call back until the next day and he said he was too busy to help me until next week but we needed the boat this weekend. So he walked me through a few things and found the problem my other boat mechanic missed in 3 trips to my place. Better yet, he didn’t even charge me for the phone call!!! I am quite impressed with Richie’s knowledge. He knew my boat very well even though it is not very common manufacturer here out west. I will be using him again in the future.

Had a great experience with Connor and Richie. They did great work, at a reasonable price. And kept me posted. I’m really glad I found them.

I met Ritchie over a year ago. I had my boat parked in outside storage at Lake Berryessa and the top had ripped and the boat became flooded with water, engine compartment and all. I looked and looked on YP, local searches in Contra Costa County and couldn’t find anyone. So I did a Unilocal and I found Ritchie with great reviews. We hit it off right away and initially the reviews were dead on. He went and got my boat at Berryessa and brought to his«shop» got the boat running, or so he said. There were a few other problems that went along with the flooding and he said he would fix it. A few months went by and he said he was working on the boat still, good news was the engine could be saved but some other things needed to be repaired. I said ok, fix what needs to be repaired. Another several months went by and I couldn’t get a hold of him. I kept trying and trying but no luck. It’s been almost a year and my wife finally put her foot down and said get the boat. I was able to FINALLY reach Richie after many, many months and he said yeah, the boats ready, I asked when could I pick it up? He said he could deliver it to my house on a Thursday(2.5 weeks ago.) Next time I finally spoke to him, after MANY attempts again, he said I could come pick it up on 4÷6÷15 at his«shop» I went there at the designated time and he didn’t show. I waited 1.5 hours. I finally walked on the to compound and saw my boat. I was in shock! The boat was filthy inside and out, he said he would wax it but that was only partially done. I looked inside the boat where I saw leaves, dirt, my fuse box hanging out from under the dash and some other items in the boat as well. I was flabbergasted, all those things he said he would do were all lies. I could always say more but I think you all get the idea of what happened. I WOULDNEVER, EVER take my boat and leave it with this guy. He’s a liar and a HUGEFLAKE. Totally unresponsive to his customers and has NO clue how to run a business. Yes, good mechanic but if you want to have him do anything to your boat have him do it at your house. His so called«shop» is a very small patch of land inside this run down looking ravioli factory.

Just had Ritchie from«Just in Time Marine» save me time and money by working with me over the phone to diagnose an issue with my bass boat. He asked a few questions over the phone and we were texting back and fourth. Once he had my engine/boat information he knew exactly what was wrong. This time of year(April) every boat repair shop in the South Bay Area was busy and would not be able to help me for weeks including my usual marine mechanic. Not only did he set up an appointment to fit me in, he figured out that my problem was a simple electrical issue at this point, that was an easy fix… Even for a «mechanically challenged» but college educated 46 year old that has had many bass and ski boats. I am grateful that he took the time to help me and was completely honest. He could have charged me $ 150 or more to come out and just look at the boat. I am a Unilocal user and I am glad that I did this time for sure. I highly recommend Ritchie(Just in Time Marine) to take care and respect their customers. Ritchie, Thank you very much. Met Richie about 3 years ago when I was desperate for assistance on my 6.5 meter Zodiac and my 115 Yamaha. He came to my home, and immediately diagnosed the issue, found a couple of other service items and repaired it all the first time! Came back about a year later and replaced all of the fuel injectors in my Yamaha, helped get the right pitch prop for the motor and boat, and now it is a Rubber Rocket! I bought a 28′ Grady Sailfish in December and he has fully serviced my twin 250 Yamahas, installed new trim tab controls, sorted out battery and charging issues and other misc. items that needed attention. I would highly recommend Richie for any marine or freshwater boat repair! (Added benefit — he knows a lot about salt water fishing too!)

I highly recommend Just In Time Mobile Marine. I used them to repair my Mercury outboard. Richie and Connor were professional, courteous, stayed in contact throughout the troubleshooting and repair and worked around my budget. I’m an experienced garage mechanic and can say without a doubt Just In Time knows motors! I will keep using them for all my outboard maintenance.

Richie was very thorough and efficient when it came to getting my jet skis fixed. I had called Richie and explained the problems I was having and if he can squeeze me in within the month as I was in no rush. Richie said bring them in next week and he will have them done within 5 days. Richie kept his word and done just so. It was a great experience, Richie took the time to send me updated pictures to my phone on what was wrong with my jetskis. He educated me on why they were faulty and the impact they have on my Jetski. When picking up my jetskis, Richie Had his girlfriend there helping finish up my skis. She was very nice, told my brother and I what she was doing and even offered us drinks out of their own fridge. So in return my brother and I grabbed them some lunch from a place they recommended us to try before we came up! Richie seems to be helping me in every way possible and I am glad I made the right decision to have JIT marine fix my jetskis. I noticed Richie had a lot of clients as well, when I was there there were a few people picking up their boats. I would highly recommend Richie for any marine needs, and for a great price/experience as well. Thank you Richie.

I gave Richie $ 800 for work on my sailboat part of which was the repair of parts to be reinstalled. He disappeared, would not answer phone calls, emails or texts. I was forced to drive 50 miles to the vendor that had the parts and pay for the repair again! Beware!

Run! Don’t walk away from this guy. He claimed to replace parts that I paid for but he didn’t really replace them. Also, the parts he did replace were the wrong parts. I could go on, but I’ll spare you. Run!

Richie is a wealth of knowledge and expertise on anything jetski related. He inspected and got my 1996 Kawasaki STS working after it had been in storage for 5 years and misused/mis-maintained by its previous owners. He is honest and is well — respected by his repeat/regular customers(I saw at least 3 stopping by in the 1.5 hours I was there). I’m glad to have found him!

Yesterday Ritchie met me at my boat in Alameda to help solve a fuel supply problem. It didn’t take him hardly any time at all to diagnose the issue and install new parts. Problem solved. \I’m now ready for 2014 salmon season. Thanks Ritchie

Richie worked on my 76 Evinrude 115V4. He rebuilt the carbs since my motor wouldn’t idle easily. He saw that my carbs were leaking fuel and recommended that I replace my fuel lines. I took my boat to Lake Berryessa and it ran MUCHMUCH better and idled easily. It took the stress out of the trip, thanks Richie. BTW, he came to my house and used my air and power. Price was very reasonable for work done!

I had The guy come out and perform diagnostics to my 1994 bayliner, He found my problem to be severe, water in the engine and it is frozen, He tried everything he could to see if he could unfreeze my engine, The speed of the investigation into my problem was most impressive Ricky and his knowledgeable assistant seemed very genuine and honest, and seemed to care about my situation, These guys did a lot of work trying to help it just wasn’t possible without getting a new motor, Call Richie To bad I didn’t find him on Unilocal«IN Time»
