All Star Swim School

We heard about All Star Swim School through some friends and when we read the Unilocal Reviews we knew this was where we wanted to send our kids. They’ve been in «group» swim lessons the last several years at different gyms or swim schools in the South Bay but still can’t swim. We decided to try their 15 minute weekly private lessons.
I could not believe the results after just a few lessons. My daughter is now comfortable in the deep end. She’s learning the more difficult butterfly stroke now. My son can swim the length of their pool with breathing now. Miss Alyssa is a wonderful teacher who truly cares and is patient. Water safety is #1.
The facility is clean and well-​maintained. The teachers are passionate about swimming (I believe most are on swim teams and even competitive swimmers!)
I highly recommend All Star Swim School!

All I have to say is that my 5 year old daughter is now swimming thanks to Miss Tania at this swim school. I had previously put her in swim lessons at other schools and she never learned. Here the lessons are one on one and I think that did the trick. I would highly recommend this swim school!

Our daughter absolutely loves All Star Swim Academy. She is into her yr #2 at this school and is doing wonderful! All of the staff is very friendly and most important her teacher Ms. Alyssa is AMAZING. My daughter can swim now and looks forward to always coming to class and learning new things about swimming. We are hooked and will continue to bring her in for classes!

We love this place my 2 and 4 year old have made great progress in a short period of time. The staff and teachers are sooo nice and its nice to sit and chat with parents about their current experience with the school. They have a gentle yet effective style which I appreciate. I would highly recommend this place!

Instead of installing a fence around our pool we take our daughter to All Star. 15 minutes a week for a year and we didn’t need to monitor our 4 year old around the pool at home. All star has a great routine. Now she is 5 and doing freestyle, backstroke, and butterfly!

We are so grateful to have found this school. The instructors are awesome and my 3 year is learning swim techniques and thriving! Would highly recommend them!

My daughter has been in swim lesson at All Star since she was 2 years ago. At first I was a little reluctant to pay that kind of price for private lesson, but after several years, it’s all been worth it.
All Star changed their make up policy a couple of years ago. Therefore if you don’t show up for class, with or without notice, you will still be charge. I understand the teachers are paid regardless if you show up or not, but I’m still on the fence about that policy. One question I have is what happens when All Star fills the absent spot that was given notice?
Having said that, All Star is one of the best place to have swim lesson. Ms. Amanda is such an asset to this school. She is so patient and kind. My daughter will be turning 7 and is learning the butterfly and breast stroke. Exceptionally Amazing!!!

I am so happy my sister found this place! We’ve tried other swim schools and All Star is by far the BEST! My daughter then 3 was swimming in a week and my son then under a year was floating on his back! If you’re looking for a great place this is it!

So great! We’ve tried other swim schools in the area, but my daughter made better progress and likes these lessons the best. Miss Tania is so sweet with her!

After 2 years of trying to find a successful swim program we have found it! The instructors are an absolute joy and have been so successful in making a great relationship with my child. So happy my little one is swimming!

My 3 of my older kids have gone to All Star and I’m always amazed at how great the instructors are… patient and kind but still very effective at getting kids water safe (quickly too). I’ve tried other swim schools where the instructors were mean/​cruel and they made my kids dread the lessons. I’m so thankful I switched! Two of my 3 boys are on a swim team now thanks to this place and they all love to be in the water!

I have tried almost every swim school in the area for my son who was 5 ½ at the time. And he would talk his way out of his 7.5 mins of other school’s lessons (4 kids to 1 teacher for 30 mins) every time by just asking 1 or 2 question (my son can talk). So we never really got anywhere until we came here. All Star instuctors were very friendly but firm. Within a few 15min 1 on1 lessons, he was pool safe. I highly recommend this place for any kiddos. You might think it is expensive but in the long run it will save you money and time.

I am so grateful that I found this place! Enrollment was very easy! I stopped by to check out their facility and was able to enroll right there within 15 – 20 minutes. The instructors are very patient and skilled with children. They only allow a maximum of 4 kids in the pool during each session so there are no overcrowding issues. You have to be on time as they run a pretty packed schedule but I am fine with that. Miss Eli is awesome and I love how the instructors give you a report after each session. Keep up the great work!

My kids can swim and love it! All Stars might seem a little pricier than other swim schools but for what you get, it’s worth it. I have twin boys and they needed to be taught how to swim separately because they are two completely different people and very competitive and get discouraged when the other one does better than them. After spending a lot of time and money at another school and not getting much results, I decided to take a chance, spend a little more and see what would happen. Voila! I have 2 little swimmers. Thanks All Stars!

Good school. They work on specific mechanics of swimming and the 1-​on-​1 time really allows the teachers to work with our daughters.

I have not taken my son here so I can’t say anything about the facility, BUT I did try to contact All Star Swim School right before Christmas. I didn’t hear back for 2 weeks, which I didn’t take so personally because I thought maybe they were closed for the holidays. On January 2^nd I heard back with a generic e-​mail. I responded immediately… I have yet to hear from anyone. I called & left 3 voice mails. I have also e-​mailed twice. Very disappointing, considering I have tons of friends in the area that were also interested in taking their little ones here. I guess they aren’t in need of new attendees. Oh well — their loss.

Convenient location and clean facility. My child quickly picked up swimming and learned pool survival techniques.

I don’t think I can say enough good things about this place. My 2 year-​old son went in kicking and screaming but they have such qualified, well trained instructors. who have taken his fear of getting in the pool right out. We have a pool in the backyard he can actually enjoy! His first instructor was Miss Amanda but now they’re doing a transition over to Miss Elli, and she is just as qualified and her ability to make kids comfortable with her is truly amazing. The school is expensive but it is absolutely worth the attention and the one-​on-​one time the kids get with the instructor. Sara has been great about keeping up with our ever changing schedule. This was absolutely the best decision I could have made.

I am updating my rating to 5* !! We began at AS with our oldest child and now our youngest is attending. The teachers are all professionals (not moonlighting high school swim team members), and the quality of instruction is superb. Much better than some competing schools in the area. The pool is clean and big, but they only have 2 kids in the pool at a time with each in one-​on-​one session so there are no distractions (as you might find elsewhere). The price is competitive and fair. Private lessons are not cheap, but your child will learn much faster and you don’t have to worry about another child getting all the attention. The bathrooms and observation rooms are clean and spacious. And parking is easy too.
It took about a year per child, but my son and daughter both learned to swim well and they are now all over the pool. Don’t expect your child to become self-​sufficient overnight on the once-​a-​week program, but you will see gradual progress and then one day it will all come together and presto — they will be swimming on their own for hours.
Lately management has been very accommodating when we’ve asked to reschedule upcoming lessons due to planned summer vacations and to change time slots. We checked out other schools before coming here, and this one is the best, hands down!

My nieces, Ella and Sophie, have been taking swim lessons here for several years. Their current swim instructor is Mrs. Brittney. They say Brittney is very nice and doesn’t rush them. Ella says swim lessons here can be really fun.
The pool is outdoors, but during the summer there is a tarp that provides some shade for the swimmers. The parents wait in a little air conditioned house which has a dressing room for changing into swimsuits and a big glass window through which we can watch the swim lessons.
In the winter, my mom says they have some kind of a bubble they put over the pool that encloses the whole pool area which keeps the warmth inside, though it does make the lessons a little harder to observe.
Each child has their own instructor for one-​on-​one attention. The instructor puts a swim cap and goggles on the girls at the start of each lesson. Ella says she gets a lot of attention which makes it more fun. Sophie says she (Brittney) is really nice and that makes it more fun to take lessons there. Each girl takes one 15 minute private lesson a week and they are bobbing about like little seahorses in the pool in the backyard.
I stand Corrected: Sophie says she swims like a seahorse. Ella sees herself more as a mermaid. Either way they are both growing more confident in the water every day!
