My wings came out wrong twice. Olivia and Jake made sure that everything went smoothly after payed close attention to my order and personally brought it out. Very happy

Horrible experience. Went here on Mother’s day. Ordered our pizza and kept the tab open because we were going to have drinks. Went to the bar, ordered a lemon drop and the bartender laughed and said she didn’t know how to make that. I said ok. Then ordered a Mai Tai and she said they didn’t have any rum. And again laughed about it and said she really only knows how to pour beer. Well I don’t drink beer. So I passed on the drinks. We got our wings which were very good but when our pizza cam, he put it on the table and didn’t clear our plates from our wings so I ended up putting them on the table next to us and getting plates for our pizza. The pizza was under cooked and missing the ham, we ordered the all meat pizza which ham is the first item listed on the menu. When we told them, she checked the menu to make sure it was on there and laughed about missing it. WILLNEVEREATHEREAGAIN.

The lunch special here is the main draw; The slice is quite large(¼ of a large pizza), the toppings are inexpensive and they don’t skimp on them at all. Free refills on soda. It takes 10 — 15 minutes to get the slice cooked, so calling ahead is a time saver, especially if you’re picking it up to go.

The pizza was just«OK.» I ordered a large vegetarian and there was no sauce on the pizza and it was very bland. The crust, however, was very good– soft but crusty edges and very fresh. I do think $ 34 for a large vegetarian pizza is a bit pricey.

I went in today to try because I heard there were good deals for a slice at lunch. Went in, the cashier was very friendly and placed my order, about 10 minutes later I looked at my phone and saw I was getting closer to an appointment I had at work and felt anxious so I asked for status, was told few more minutes, I was nice but frustrated because I expected the service to be faster not to wait 1\2 my lunch, suddenly a very angry looking guy came up to counter and told me very rudely they were fixing oven door and if I didn’t like waiting he would give me my money back to go elsewhere, his reaction was not professional, he has very poor customer service skills and a temper, I was even more frustrated considering ID spent 1\2 my lunch and if he had given me money back ID have no time to go elsewhere, then after five more minutes he had cashier refund me money but they also gave me the pizza, it was pretty good, very hot and free refil on soda, I give 3 stars. I felt the guy was stressed about his oven and took it out on me and I hope he learns that being nice to customer gets them to come back, décor was nice and outside area to sit, beers if you drink, etc, if I hadn’t gotten free slice I was gonna rip him up on this review but I think he was stressed, I work close occasionally but doubt I return, the Safeway sandwich less wait and friendly workers make the line bearable, be prepared each slice is custom so it’s not fast if you don’t have time to wait 10 – 18 minutes for slice, but cashier was friendly

High cost pizza and low quality. Reminded me of the kind of pizza you would get in a cafeteria.

I’ve been to this place a number of times primarily for the pizza. I gave then 2 stars for the pizza which I do find tasty though pricey. Here is why no additional stars: As I write this no has come by during the time I sat down besides to give me my pizza. No one to ask if I needed a refill, no «is everything okay», nothing. There are at 2 – 3 people walking past me at different times. Perhaps they all think someone else is responsible. This is the topper. Though no one attends to me, they do take the time to stack chairs on tables as if the restaurant is closed. This goes all around me and the place is supposedly open another hour! Apparently Ascona Pizza is where customer service goes to die.

I’ve always wondered if this place made good pizza, so I figured I’d give them a shot and put the curiosity to rest. The times I was interested in eating here, I noticed that it never really got crowded, so that to me wasn’t the best sign. Fast forward a few months, I walk into this place excited to put their pizza to test! I ordered a single slice(which is really 2 slices), with pepperoni, sausage, and artichoke hearts. I wanted to add a few more toppings, but that gal behind the counter told me it would be an additional $.50 or so per topping. I decided to pass on the additional toppings/up-charge. Service was friendly, but it took a little under twenty minutes to get my slice of pizza. Based on the lack of customers inside the restaurant, a twenty minute wait for a single slice is little long in my opinion. As my slice FINALLY made it to my table, it looked picture perfect! My only hope was that it would taste as good as it looked. I was NOT disappointed! The toppings were fresh, the cheese was melted perfectly, and the crust was crispy and tasty! Their lunch special is a large slice of pizza which includes 3 toppings, and any fountain soda for $ 6.50. Conclusion: Great location, decent service, great pizza, and you will NEVER have a problem finding an empty table or seat! Yeah…I’LLBEBACK!

Close to work, so eat here regularly. Consistently good pizza and bar food, especially given other local options. Very good beer selection on tap. Bar is nice and always sports games on. Staff is friendly but professional. Good for groups or just dropping by.

Good Location led me here. Overall very poor. Below average quality food, bit pricey too. –10 on hygine, all the knife handles were dirty, disgusting reallly. I could not find one clean knife to eat with in self service tray, check groove — all lined with stuck food. yucky. Never again. Had to ask for plates. We had mozorella sticks — average to below average taste, greasy, simple battered sticks, very small portion. Cheese Pizza, I felt over $ 18 for a small cheese pizza was on $ the high side. Taste wise, we noticed some green on the dough and it turned out to be garlic sauce. Not much taste and bit doughy. Would give 0 stars if possible, and not go again. $ 35 for appitizer, pizza and 2 drinks.

I have been coming to Ascona’s(the one in Blackhawk, San Ramon, and this one for about 20 years) and this is by far my favorite pizza anywhere. The only downside is that their pizzas are fairly pricey but you won’t be disappointed with the taste! Their crust has the perfect mixture and amount of garlic in it. Ask for ranch, because their ranch sauce is homemade buttermilk and goes so nicely with the garlic crust. They don’t charge for extra ranch FYI. I have always ordered my pizza for pickup so I’m not quite sure how their customer service is but I have never once had a problem ordering a pizza. Another FYI, there is no size medium but a small can feed someone for two meals or can feed two people for one regular meal. The large is the next size up which can feed 4 no problem. Will be coming back despite the price of their pizzas, although I do wish it wasn’t so expensive.

Came in for pizza, wings, beer &NFL Sunday. Great venue– plenty of screens, good food but horrible service. The waiter took our food before we’d finished, threw it away and never returned. When we questioned another waiter about why our food was removed he investigated the issue and returned saying he’d «threw a couple wings in for us». About 15mins later we were brought out EXACTLY two wings! WTF!!! The proper response to an issue like this would have been to replenish a full order or comp the item or entire bill due to the inconvenience. The staff needs customer service and diversity training before I’d consider patronizing again.

We started with the wings and got half breaded and half not. The sauces we ordered were buffalo, ranch, and blue cheese. I must say THEBEST wings I’ve had in a while. They were truly deep fried not oven baked, just how they should be. We then moved onto the pizza and the best part was the crust. It was brushed with some oil and a hint of garlic. I loved everything about my pizza and wings. I would highly recommend this cute bar/restaurant. And I will most definitely be returning.

Best pizza and margs in town! Also I’m a total ranch nazi and this place is ace. Nick the bartender– I love you. Thanks for always taking good care of me and the girls!

I really liked the pizza, very flavorful and I love the crust. Unfortunately service was very slow and no one seems to be trained in basic customer service. We were there at 4pm and the place was empty. At about 5pm, 5 servers came in to a still empty restaurant and they were all standing around, no one even checked up on us. Maybe I will order for pick up next time. The place is nice and up-to-date.

The location is great, next to some very good choices like the Corner Bakery and Habit Burgers, but what a rip-off! «The Caprese Salad» had exactly 5 pieces of tomates and 2.5 pieces of mozzarella, and 4 leaves of basil for a whopping $ 8.5. And that’s one of the entrees for dinner! Who are they kidding? They’re right next door to Corner Bakery that has delectable salad choices for the same price. The pizza was okay but we got no service. There were no napkins or silverware brought to the tables, no condiments, nothing. At 7:30pm on a weekday they had no serving staff. Many tables had left over strewn all over – it was awful. Stay away!

Made a reservation for a party of 20 and were squeezed into the back. We had four separate tables — one round and three square — all at different angles/sections and none of which were touching each other. Weird… This made it very difficult trying to talk to each other; for the most part we were standing/leaning. It’s a decent sized place, I think they could have planned that out a little better. I was a fan of their dough but the pizzas as a whole were just ok(we ordered four different kinds). We also ordered some wings and other sides which tasted fine but came in suuuper small portions and looked very sad. They have a full bar! But it took forever to get drinks unless we walked up there ourselves. Servers were very friendly but seemed rushed/anxious with such a big group. Decent place, maybe just not good for large groups.

This is a quaint pizza place tucked in a nice Safeway shopping center. I came in for lunch on Monday and was greeted promptly(a hello from the back). I really hate other places that do not acknowledge you until after you’ve stood at the ordering counter like a dodo for three minutes, so I appreciate the friendly welcome as soon as I came in. I was really surprised that there is a full bar here! And tons of good beer on tap! I guess I didn’t expect it considering what is nearby in this same center. They promote happy hour and brew night specials, so I definitely want to come back for that. The pizza sauce was just ok, nothing more or less than what I’d expect from a small joint like this. I got a lunch special which was a lot for me, one slice was more like two and a big soda, and a nice salad. Not bad, I really like that the pizza was made special for me, not a premade slice kept warm until lunch hour. It was crispy in all the right ways. Quiet during lunch, I wonder how busy it gets for sports considering there are four big screen TVs.

Wifey and I went here on the Monday before Christmas for a quick dinner. We saw on the menu they serve paninnis. Well, we got there and the stop making paninnis at 4. Ok, no big deal, we get a pizza in stead. The pizza came out quickly and it was pretty good. But the best part was the beer selection. They have a full bar and lots of taps. And, on that particular night, they featured Altamont Brewing on sale. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed several Shelter IPAs with the pizza. The place is clean and the folks there are very friendly. It’s a good place to stop and have a meal. Will I be back? Sure… it’s good stuff.

One and a half of these stars are for the beer selection. Went in today for lunch and sat at the bar and ordered a salad and a beer. I was asked if I wanted to open a tab. I said no, I’ll just pay at the end like always. I was then asked to give them a credit card to hold. Like I’m going to sit at the bar and dine and dash? It wasn’t the server’s fault but it was mildly insulting and off-putting. Something slightly off happens each time I’ve come in the last few times. Ants on the bar. Impossible-to-get checks. Today it was this. Think I’m going to take a break from Ascona for a while unless my need for Altamont becomes absolutely overwhelming.
