I have gone to Mike Wallace for the past year and have had a great experience every time. Not only does he cut hair amazing, he takes the time to teach me little hair tricks and techniques. He is professional and passionate about what he does. I recommend him to all my friends and family. He is so good that he gets booked quickly, so you’ll want to make an appointment as far in advance as you can.

In regards to the review of a client who received a bang trim from Mike Wallace.
In the salon at the time were three co workers and three clients.
It was unanimously agreed that her reactions were inappropriate to say the least. All of us felt that under the circumstances Mike handled himself very well. With a client who was clearly troubled, Mike kept calm, was sensitive and showed compassion. My client of 30 years and I heard every word said and her statements are not accurate.

I have been going to Calipso’s Salon for approximately two years and see Mike Wallace.
Mike gives great recommendations, Mike will take the time to complete a consultation prior to getting your hair done. I brought in few pictures to help create my own personal style. We looked at different colours and cuts and this always helps so we are on the same page. With this extra communication I receive cute haircuts and colours that are complementary to my busy lifestyle. Mike listens to my needs (no time for blowdry, emphasize natural wave, etc) and provided great guidance for a low maintenance style.
Scheduling can be very challenging for my schedule, but Mike always finds a way to get me in. Mike also does a great job on my husband’s hair as well as my daughter’s hair, so he really is great for the entire family. We are very lucky to have a nice, unpretentious hair artist available.
I love my hair and I will be back!

Mike Wallace is the worst stylist ever… When I had a appointment for a bang trim he made me wait 30 minutes after my appointment time. When I sat in the chair he snipped without doing a consultation and took of a inch & a half without my permission. Mike also bragged about wearing $ 300 perfume and that he has to smell good. Okay someone is not a true professional, over charges, and doesn’t listen to his clients. I’ve been there before and he knows that I don’t like my bangs short. He stated the last time I was there was 5 months ago and that is a lie I was there only 2 months ago. Mike even laughed it off like he did nothing wrong. Not a honest person do not be fooled. There are better stylist to go to in the Bay Area I hope you find the perfect one!!!

Christine Amparo is a very professional beautician. She has good knowledge of hair styles, colors to match your face. They welcome you in a friendly atmosphere and make you feel comfortable. Enjoy joking with the stylists. Afterwards my husband and I walk down Main St to the farmers market and shops.

My favorite salon. Professional and friendly stylists. They are each very experienced and really know how to care for hair.

I went to Calipso’s to pick up some hair products I have been using for years. When I arrived I very nice gentleman was their to help me. His name was Mike Wallace. He asked me «why this product as it is not right for your hair type.» He showed me what would work better – make my hair fuller, help with dryness, protect my color, prevent frizziness, and hold the curl. I thought, yeah, right! Not only did he tell me that but he said «if you have time I can use the product on you and see if you like it — no charge». OK, who does that!
Oh my— the product did what he said AND he gave me a lesson on how to blow dry my hair properly (i’m still in the process of undoing bad habits). I left the salon with a new hair style. My hair has never been so full and shinny, and I thought I knew what I was doing.
I am really excited to see Mike for a haircut and color (he is a master colorist). Mike is so caring, really takes an interest in you, and he is experienced– 30 plus years. It was a fun afternoon (MIke has a great personality).

Celeste has been doing my cut and color for quite a while. I couldn’t imagine anyone else doing my hair quite as Fantastic as Celeste.

Love getting my hair done by Celeste; my stylist… its both therapeutic & relaxing… not to mention I leave feeling good & looking great every time! Love Celeste & look forward to my next appt!

This was my first time to Calipso’s. Jennifer was my stylist and gave me a perfect haircut. I didn’t have to say much about how I wanted my style changed, she just knew. The staff is extremely friendly and seems they enjoy working together. Celeste jumped in to help as Jennifer was running late. Teamwork. The salon is nice, located in the heart of Main St. Is it a very welcoming place. Would for sure recommend this salon.

Mike Wallace is amazing =) I’ve been going to him for years. Great with thick, long hair and really listens to what you want for both cut and color. Like most girls, I’m nervous before every haircut, but I always leave with a confident smile. He’s also incredibly entertaining and has a great sense of humor that makes the haircut an experience and a half!

Bonnie is amazing. Being a woman you know how important our hair is. She does a great job and i couln’t see myself going anywhere else

Mike Wallace is new to Calipso’s but I have been going to him for several years. I was pleased with his new location in the middle of Main Street in Pleasanton. The place is immaculate and everyone seems very friendly.
Mike did a great job highlighting my hair. Mike is a good listener and really heard what I wanted and produced lovely color.

My hair is very thick and Susan knows how to tame it down and make it look great. She tappers and styles it to look smooth and not so bulky or wiry. It’s hard to find an excellent hair cutter and Susan at Calipso’s is the best for me. Calipsos’ atmosphere is relaxed, cheerful and very friendly. The other stylists in the shop are also very professional and excellent at what they do. This place is a definite keeper and Susan is my girl.

Had an appointment today at 11am, arrived a few minutes early only to be told that the lady doing my hair was out stuff sick and had neglected to call me, despite having my phone number. Very disappointed, especially considering the stylist was the owner! Can’t imagine it’s run well if the owner doesn’t call her own clients when when she’s out!

I’m with Hannah. Renèe is amazing and I followed her to Salon Saavy as well. It’s only right around the corner on Division street. Her number is 925−413−5675. She is amazing. I’m someone who constantly changes their look. She grasps each and every hairstyle I bring to her and not only can make it that style, she has the confidence to be able to do it! I love that she loves what she creates too :-) she’s the best!

Renee has moved down the street! She now works at Salon Saavy on Division Street. I love how she does my hair, so I’m following her wherever she goes :)

Yep. I’m with Henna. I’ve been going to Renee for 2 – 3 years and she always does a good job and actually listens to what you want. Taking a half inch isn’t taking off 2 like so many stylists do. Also, I’m so gray that she does a reverse weave for me (puttinng dark back in) and it’s great. Check her out!
