My boyfriend wanted to go to Dickey’s the other evening after work, so we hit up this location nearby in Pleasanton. He got a 3 meat plate with 2 sides and a roll, and I got a 2 meat plate with 2 sides and a roll. We were both very pleased with our food — the meat was cooked well but still moist and had a nice amount of sauce. My potato salad and waffle fries sides were great. My boyfriend enjoyed his mac n’ cheese and baked beans as well. He was hungry and probably finished his whole plate in like 15 minutes, while I ate half of mine and then took the rest home to save for lunch the next day. We also ordered drinks, which came in large reusable cups that we could take home. The service was super friendly — we were greeted right away and there was no line. Our food was prepared quickly and brought out to us nice and hot. There is also a free soft serve ice cream station!

Disgusting smoke flavor, that is all you taste in their food… When I go out to eat I like to eat food not just a smoke flavor Definitely NOT recommending this place

Wow… What pathetic customer service and follow up. I went to purchase $ 50 in gift cards. Two employees were there… NEITHERONE knew how to run up a gift card. Instead of trying to learn or call someone they told me to «go to Costco and purchase them there.» REALLY? Who does that. Then I notice the business card of the owner so I pick it up and email him that afternoon. It has now been over 30 days and NOWORD from him. He has also been asked about it and his response was«I don’t check email that often» VERYPOOR customer service. Glad there are other barbecue places in town! WOW!

The food today was on point. We come from the south so we know bbq. The okra was great too. We especially like the sliced beef brisket. Kids eat free every day which helps our family budget.

So It’s pretty standard Dickey’s bbq. Good meat, nice sauces, and free ice cream with your meal. What really set the visit above was Garrett. He made the family feel like he enjoyed his job and was happy to help. So often these days employees make it clear they would rather not help you so when I find good service I like to make it know. One other tip they have the sweet bbq behind the counter if that’s your thing.

Nothing outstanding here but it is great for a quick BBQ run. Staff is always friendly and quick to help and food is usually very good. On occasion it seems you’ll get a bad day with really gross, possibly reheated side dishes and meat that is all fat. Plus side, inside is usually very clean and never too busy around lunch time.

Oh man, this sucks. Dickeys was never the best but it was a reliable place to get fast and good BBQ. We came in tonight, sat down with our food, and it literally fell apart in our hands. This was not a good thing. The ribs are soaked, literally dripping. They made a puddle in the plate as we watched. The fat wasn’t rendered off and just dangled of is the meat as the meat sloughed off the bone with a splat. The meat is soggy and bland, the BBQ sauce helps with the taste but can’t cover the spongy feel of the meat. I think this is the first time I’ve eaten two ribs and been done. Never before have I been this unhappy with BBQ, and let me tell you that is saying something. I talked with the staff and was told that the new preparation was mandated by corporate. Some people like it, but lots have been complaining. Why one star? Some of the other food is still good but the place is in disrepair. Light was out in the bathroom, no paper towels, and not clean. I’m going to miss this place but unless I hear that it’s changed I don’t plan on being back.

We got food to go. I was extremely disappointed. We got the burnt ends of the brisket. Green beans were super soggy. Fried okra was not greasy or oily, it was actually good. I didn’t eat the rolls. My previous experience with them was really good, however this visit was not the best. They didn’t give us any silverware. I don’t like burnt brisket, or the fatty/oily ends of it. If your getting food to go CHECK it before you get home. Annoying that you get home and realize you just wasted money.

My boyfriend and I went there today around 5:30 pm. We really enjoy the food here which is consistently tasty. Although, the barbecue sauce could be improved upon. However, there was something unsettling about our time there today and it was no fault of the restaurant mind you but… as we were eating, a loud woman sitting nearby was gossiping with someone. She was very ill-mannered and annoying! This woman was not only talking about people she knew(both bad and good) but also her experience in jury duty today!!! Seriously?!? She was actually talking about the people who were on trial! Is not that illegal?!? Is her life so ordinary and boring that she feels a need to gossip about people she knows esp. so loudly that others can overhear her?!? hmmmm… This woman appeared to be in her 60s. I would think someone her age would know better but I guess not. I tried to ignore her but her voice was so loud! A young man sat at a table nearby and was wearing his headphones– good idea!!! But then, why should anyone feel like they have to mute her out?!? Her loud voice was almost as annoying as a spoiled kid crying and screaming! Pros: –food is consistently good –great service –reasonably priced Cons: –barbecue sauce could be improved
