My computer crashed and I didn’t know where to find assistance ! I did some research and was able to speak to the owner Gabe, on the phone and he seemed very knowledgeable and had a nice approach and way of explaining things. I was able to drop off my computer and was so pleased at the service I was given. The staff is helpful and friendly. Gabe is highly skilled and also very common sense approach. He has had YEARS in the business. He went the extra mile for me in order to help me get things set up at my home office. I can’t believe more people don’t know about this place and should definitely take advantage of this service. DEFINITELY recommend!

My windows 7 machine crashed and everything I did to try to fix it seemed useless. I looked here on Unilocal to find a local shop to repair the desktop. I picked Pleasanton Computer Repair base on their good reviews. I’m very glad I did! When I arrived I was greeted by the owner Gabe who told me that he’d take care of me. Not only did he fix my computer, but the repair was done in less than a day, and within my budget!!! Pleasanton Computer Repair’s service is top notch! My machine is now running 100 times better!!! If you have any computer issues, do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time. Give Gabe a call, he wants your business. And their open until 8pm!!! Thanks again Gabe!!!

Disappointed so far Took my computer in last Friday morning with a blown power supply. I thought, hey, support a local business. Very pleasant guy helped me. He tried to see if there might be a simple fix, but we both concluded that it needed to go to the shop probably to replace the power supply. I told him that I was traveling and that it would be really great if I could get it back the same day, but if not, getting it back the follow Thursday would be fine. Tech said he would get back to me by the end of the day, I got a confirming text while I was in the shop. Cool! The first bad sign was that the receipt for my initial payment appears to have never been sent. At the end of the day on Friday, I had to call him to find that they did not have the part in stock and would have to order it. Fast forward to Thursday… since I did not get any calls or texts in the mean time. I call to get an update and after a couple of hours the tech calls back. We have to order a new power supply and then after that we have to see if there is anything more that we have to order. OK. We knew this last week, why wasn’t it ordered then. «I don’t have a good explanation.» No sorry, no we were really busy this week. I tell the guy to please order the power supply and he tells me it will be another couple hundred and it won’t be ready until next Wednesday. Since I am going to be out of town for a couple of weeks, my family will be without our family server for 3 weeks. I am hopeful that this is just an anomaly and that the rest of my experience is going to be good. The Unilocal ratings are consistently good, but based on what I have seen so far, I could not recommend these guys to anyone.

The team at Pleasanton Computer Repair are professional, efficient, and really do care about getting the job done right. I had my retail store point-of-sale computer crash on me and called them to see what my options were. They were straightforward in what options I had, what they could do, and what it would cost. I got my system repaired same day, and it was a complex technical repair. What really impressed me was the follow up, not only during the day they were working on it, but afterwards. Chris, the technician who fixed the computer even worked with me during his own time at night to ensure that once I had it all back on-line with remote servers, everything was working fine. Great job Chris and the rest of the techs at PCR.

I bought a new desktop computer for my business, and had quite a bit of trouble restoring the complete back-up from Carbonite, reinstalling the old emails, etc. It had been so many years since I had upgraded software, that the new computer’s systems were not very compatible with the old files. After wasting a couple of days, I found PCR on Unilocal and called. I s/w Chris who said that he could help and said that was able to come to my office at 2:00pm; he arrived exactly at two, and quickly identified the conflicts and worked to resolve them. Chris was very professional, worked very quickly and efficiently, and didn’t waste a minute. He set-up systems and reorganized my files to make future work so much easier.

These guys are terrific! Eric helped me out in a clutch, after my 12 Apple computers were stolen. They didn’t get the 3TB Time Machine, but I had nothing to restore it to and Apple wouldn’t let my data touch their machines(potential virus issue I guess? Or maybe, just too many Lawyers?). Anyway these guys at Pleasanton Computer Repair were super-helpful, and a pleasure to work with.

I brought in a laptop that recently crashed and I hadn’t made the backup disks yet. When I first got there, a tech was immediately brought out to talk about the problem. We agreed on an advanced diagnostic. Later that day, the same tech called me and told me they were getting frustrated as to why my laptop crashed, and couldn’t figure out what to do, so they were gonna sit on it overnight and come back to it in the morning. The next morning they called and said they found the problem, and how to fix it. Less than 24 hours later(despite being told it would take much longer), I have my laptop in perfect working condition. I took my laptop in late afternoon on Tuesday, got it back at noon Thursday(today). Couldn’t have asked for quicker service. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is I was quoted a certain amount for parts and labor, and it wound up costing about 20% more. Otherwise, I would absolutely come back here.

This review is overdue! Okay. So my 13′ MBP had water damage, just a little bit of water splashed on my keyboard, next thing you know my keyboard wasn’t working. Called this place due to the incessant 5 star reviews, hoping to get my baby back to life. I brought my MacBook around christmas season, wherein staff said they would be backed up. Since i’m on a little vacation, hey, why not? I can live with that. I receive a call from one of the Techs,(I believe his name was Gabe) he said that it was a Hard drive malfunction. And so he quoted me around $ 210, around that range — and i was happy! Naïve enough to believe that it would be my hard drive, i received another phone call from the same person saying that he quoted the wrong person. So i’m like okay, in my head, people make mistakes so its all gravy. So to fix my keyboard was around $ 280, and thinking that the macbook’s already open, i just thought why not, go ahead with the repairs. Here’s the bad part, i know they gave me a heads up regarding the delay but it took extra long. Communication barely existed between me and the technicians and i always had to call them up for updates, if we’re talking customer service here, that’s not the way to do it. I’ve been really patient with them to the point that my macbook stayed with them for almost a month. I get a call from one of the technicians saying that it was ready. So i checked my macbook when i got home and i noticed that it wasn’t functioning as fast as it did, so i called the tech and he told me to bring it back,(AGAIN!) to have another look. Few days later i get a call back from these guys saying that the whole logic board needed to be replaced. Sooooooo… Considering the fact that i live in Brentwood, about 30 miles from pleasanton, its hard to keep coming back and forth for a Hopeless macbook. They advised me to go to mac instead or have them install it while they order the part which is an $ 800 value. If i did that and repaired my keyboard with them then i could’ve just gotten a brand spankin new one! Point is, i don’t know why they didn’t thoroughly check the overall status of my MacBook, especially inside. If they told me everything at once then i wouldn’t be this disappointed with them. One star goes for the aunt who helps them out at the front desk, nice lady.

These guys are great! I don’t take my computers to anyone because I can usually figure it out, but they immediately knew what the problem was when I described it on the phone and fixed it quickly and at a very reasonable price. For a comparison, I called three other places and explained the issue to their techs who were not quite able to diagnose the problem and quoted higher prices to investigate it and maybe fix it.

Gabe made a house call to help us with our wireless network. We have two access points and had been having constant problems with interference between the two. Gabe downloaded new firmware and changed our configuration so the two access points work well together now. Our wireless is faster and the transition between access points is now seamless. Would definitely use them again when we need help.

I selected Pleasanton Computer Repair for help, based on others’ Unilocal reviews. I was very glad to have chosen the best place. This is a place that I would send my parents, if only they opened a branch office in Idaho! They are that good that I would trust them to solve issues with my parents’ computers. I had a complex situation involving a custom high-end system. The technician at PCR had the skills and experience to effectively sort out the issue. Not only was that taken care of, but he also gave me some welcome advice on how to complete my build, that can only come from someone very skilled with a lot of experience. I found them to be very professional, responsive, and friendly. I also thought they offered excellent value for their service. They showed me their work room and I thought it was comparable to the repair facilities inside the large factories that assemble computers for the big players(HP, Dell, etc.). It looked like they had pretty broad capabilities to diagnose and resolve problems. Whether someone has a complex situation like mine, or something pretty straightforward, this is an outstanding place to go to for help.

I needed a diagnosis on my unstable PC, and they did a great job of determining what was wrong.(Bad stick of RAM& some missing drivers.) Initial diagnosis is FREE, which is great, but that’s not why I’m giving them 5-stars. I’m giving them 5-stars because they’re HONEST. They told me it’d costs $ 130 to RMA/replace the stick of RAM and install the drivers, which(in my opinion) is a bit steep to unseat and replace a stick of ram and just download some driver software from manufacturer’s website. So I asked them to just pull the bad RAM and give me a list of the missing drivers. I thought for sure they’d take issue with that and give me the run-around or give me a hard time to get more money out of me. They’re a small mom –and-pop business — how could they afford not to? But to my surprise, they didn’t! Without any fuss, they pulled my bad RAM(and even wrapped it nicely) and gave me a list of my missing drivers, and I was on my way. Suffice it to say, I was impressed with their professionalism and courteousness. I highly recommend them.

My wife’s hp laptop had a 250GB hard drive that was running out of space. As i consider myself quite the computer wiz(much to my wife’s chagrin), I decided to upgrade it myself. The lowest price I could find online for a 1TB drive was 180 and a data clone kit for another 40. When I called Pleasanton Computer Repair, Gabe said he could do it $ 215(140 for the drive and 75 to copy the data over to the new one). And he could do it in the same day in a couple of hours. So it turned out to be cheaper and faster than doing it myself.(I pretended not to notice the look of relief on my wife’s face). Took it to Pleasanton computer repair and true to their word, they replaced the hard drive and copied the data over in just under three hours! Awesome job!
