Senro sushi is the best sushi place in town! Right when you walk in the door the people are always so nice and the food is fresh and delicious!

Really love the layout of this restaurant. It sits up on a raised floor above the ground. It reminded me of walking into a restaurant near the beach. The rolls we had were delicious!!! I highly recommend the Titanic and Dragon Rolls. Packed and stacked high with sushi yumminess. And the sashimi combo plate was super fresh and melted in your mouth. The price was pretty average for great sushi — no complaints.

Interesting location in a former train depot, located off the main drag. Interior walls were decorated with painted on bricks giving it a warm feel. We were greeted warmly and ordered quickly. Hot sake is perfect on a cold rainy day. Also enjoyed a bottom-less cup of hot tea. What a treat to not have to ask for a refill of my tea! Service was friendly and I think that’s what keeps folks coming back. As the dining area filled up there was a lot of familiar chatter as the servers welcomed families that were obviously regulars. We ordered several rolls. The Shelby was our favorite, but we were a bit disappointed with the simple rolls(listed as «Ordinary» on the menu). The Rock N Roll was rather bland. Not enough eel to give it flavor. All in all the sushi was average, but the warm service would warrant another try some other time.

This was the worst sushi we have had and the service was horrible it took 2 hours to get out of there it all started with the sodas being flat then to the horrible service then one sushi roll at a time. Yuck they were nasty the momma Mia was nothing but water down rice and scallops nasty didn’t take more than 30 min after we got home and we were all sick in the bathroom and not well we will not be back to this place

I’ve been here a few times but after today, I won’t be going back. Negative point #1 As one of the first few customers of the day, my lunch companion and I were welcomed into the restaurant(or better yet an walk-in ice box). On a cold, rainy day such as today I would not expect 40 degree temps inside a restaurant… Not a way to draw in customers. Negative point #2 Before my food came I went to the restroom to wash my hands to find my waitress also using the restroom. No big deal… Right? Wrong!!! To my surprise she failed to wash her hands with soap before she’s returned to her serving duties inside the restaurant. B-A-R-F!!! She merely ran her hands through the water and wiped then off. Fortunately, when I returned to the table our food had already been served. Negative point #3 I witnessed waitress #2 blowing her nose and failing to wash her hands after doing so. I’m highly tempted to call the local authorities to report this. Before doing so, I’ll give these folks an opportunity to explain their actions… How about the food you ask? Let’s just say I took 90% of my food to go and threw it away promptly when I got home.

Haven’t been here in years. Sitting out on the deck — super nice evening. Would have been better if they had soft music playing. The salmon sashimi was on point. Good value. We will have to make this a regular stop.

This place is awesome! The Shelby roll and Eskimo roll are my favorites and I literally crave them all the time. They are fresh and taste amazing with the right amount of sauce. Service is great too, I’ve never had an issue even when they are super busy. Love this place!

Are you guys serious? 4 stars? Barely 3 stars for me, but my standard for 3 stars are very low. The plus side is that Pleasanton does have sushi, and it is not terrible, probably on par with expensive buffet level sushi but not the varieties. The menu doesnt excite me(very boring), the sushi is so-so, price is about 15% more expensive than other towns. I usually go 20 miles for sushi, now still seems to be the case if I want to get good sushi.

Sushi was average, nothing special. Their rice was really sticky and became kind of like a glob of cold, sticky rice surrounding questionably fresh fish. I will say that the place itself is really cute and the servers are welcoming for the most part. Interesting little joint, probably will be back one more time to see what else there is to offer. Very«meh» to me.

Decent place for some sushi. Unfortunately there are so many choices for decent sushi for the same price and service. Nothing that makes this place stand out. Okay service and fresh fish.

I don’t even know why this place has the amount of stars that it has. I got the tempura udon and a seaweed salad. The tempura for the tempura udon came out seperately which was cool but the udon litereally came out 20 minutes after the tempura. And the seaweed salad was like some seaweed and the rest was actual lettuce in 2⁄3 of the bowl. what the heck!!! i dont want no lettuce!

Hidden in the back of a parking lot and up a small ramp you will find this adorably decorated little restaurant loaded with a crazy amount of rolls and great service! Walked in at 12:30 and were seated instantly. Received waters shortly after, and given some time to look over the extensive menu that contains clever names for all items. Ended up ordering a Volcano Roll, Raider Roll, and another that skips my mind at the moment… either way, each came with about eight pieces and was more that enough to fill us up! The Volcano Roll was our favorite; very large and came with a sauce that added on some great flavor! Sadly it was suppose to have some spice in it which we did not find. The Raider Roll was great but kind of bland; with all the different ingredients inside you think it would be explosive, but it ended up just being meh. The last roll was large and came with a ton of crunch but was also found to be very bland, lame! Overall the place is cute and the people are nice, but the food needs a tune up.

Great sushi and handy location near downtown Pleasanton — this is our backup go-to place when the crowds at other places demand long waits for a table and hunger is calling. We always enjoy the food and service is personal as we are regulars and they remember what we like. This place always serves good food and the service is great except when overloaded it can slow a bit. I like the Soft Shell Crab Appetizer and Spider Rolls here. We all go for the large Sashimi platters. Enjoy !!!

I went there on a whim for a friends birthday. Great selection of rolls and bento boxes, Great sushi, great customer service and inexpensive. There was a funky smell when I walked up. Similar to a mildew odor. Not sure why since the restaurant was clean and the sushi was fresh. Hopefully it’s something that can be fixed.

I am only giving one star because I have to get one star otherwise I would give this place 0 stars. I’m not really sure how people give this place 34&5 stars. The fish is frozen, not fresh and mushy from defrosting and soaking in liquid. The ninja roll almost made me throw up in my mouth. I spit it out and didn’t even finish the rest of the role. The jalapeño albacore, which I was looking forward to, had a thick dry layer on the outside of it which appeared to be from sitting out for a long time and the texture was just pure mushy from being frozen. The Albacore was a bit fishy. Anybody that knows albacore, should know that it is not a fishy fish. We had a few other rolls and experience the same thing. Let’s not forget the salad, it was like someone squeeze the bottle of mayonnaise on the top of head lettuce, yuck! To top off the experience, when we got up from our seats and I looked at the floor, there was a giant half dead cockroach! The moral of the story is… if you go into a Japanese restaurant with a hundred strange rolls on menu that are as big around as your fist and there’s not a single Japanese person eating in the restaurant and everybody that works there is Korean or whatever nationality they are, get out quick and go to Sato for some real Japanese!

Was craving sushi tonight and so we decided to try a place in the area where we haven’t been before: Senro. The location is good — close to downtown, the décor inside wasn’t anything that was exciting. We came in around 730, got a table right away. Ordered: 6– piece assorted sashimi(yellowtail, salmon, and tuna): The fish is very fresh, I will give them that. salmon was buttery, tuna was good and yellowtail was also very tasty. Nice thick generous cuts also. 2 piece nigiri: halibut: This was interesting. not in a very good way. green onions on top and they added sesame oil on top? to me it felt like the fish wash chewy and almost slightly cooked tasting in my mouth. to be honest it didn’t even taste much like halibut to me! — would not recommend. Hot night roll — I was excited for this roll but I felt it was very blah. The shrimp in the roll felt very oily to me and the flavors were bland. T.G– roll — I was also very underwhelmed by this roll. Had spicy tuna on the roll but nothing spicy about it. again it was very bland. Also both rolls came with about a pound of panko on top. I love panko on top of rolls but it was very excessive and I felt it was super oily. Also the rice used in the rolls was a little too gummy for our liking. Overall the experience was meh. The sashimi was very tasty and fresh and the miso soup was delicious! but everything else? not so much. — both me and my fiancé now feel kind of sick(not from bad fish– all the fish was delicious and fresh, more sick from just how oily the rolls seemed) Would i come back here? probably not with so many other good sushi places in the area, but I wouldn’t mind a couple more pieces of sashimi sometimes.

Came for a quick lunch! Got the sushi roll lunch special where you can pick 2 rolls or 3 rolls from a specific list. I chose the 2 rolls and it was about $ 10/$ 11. I didn’t expect the roll to be so big or the generous amount of fish in each roll. Really enjoyed it! I got the salmon and avocado roll and the spicy hamachi roll

Came here for lunch with some coworkers. The décor looks but don’t let that fool you. The food here is great. Bento box was huge and the taste was excellent. I ordered the bento box with chicken katsu and sesame chicken along with a dragon roll. The Katsu was not dry at all. The sesame chicken was very tender and their salad dressing was delicious. Definitely would back here again for lunch and dinner
